I called Dobyns and talked with someone and they wanted to see some pics so that’s what I have done. We will see what happens and go from there.

So their I was all excited about finally going to replaced the eyelet on my Dobyns Fury Series FR733C Rod. I have watched countless number of videos on how to do it. I was a little nervous being that this was my first time doing this, So I took off the eyelet and then it happened, it was broken underneath the eyelet. Not a good way to start the three day weekend. Anyone have any thoughts on what to do? Is it junk now? Is it even worth getting it fix? I was thinking of calling Dobyns and seeing what they’ll do. Anyway have a great weekend.

Thanks for the advice guys, but now what about the eyelet that needs replaced??? ???

My question is this, my rod tip came off, to fix it can I just use super glue? Also is epoxy just epoxy??? Can I just used regular epoxy at a hobby store or go on mulhole and get stuff for fishing? I have an eye to fix as well. I guess that was 4 questions??? All reply’s are welcome, thanks

Thanks guys for the advice. I’ll try the switch first and then try cleaning next. It was nice getting back on the water even tho it was just a few hrs. Going back to Lake Hartwell on Thursday. Happy fishing

I was testing my navigation lights out and the back light comes on but the front light does not. My question is this, could it just be the bulb needing replaced or do I need to purchase a whole new navigation light for the front of the boat???

The Classic, anyone going??? I know stupid question. But, who is going to win it this year???

Just a update; it was the fuel!!! Water had gotten into the fuel and it’s good to go.

I have a 2003 Mercury XR6 150 hp motor. I have owned this almost 3 yrs and have yet to get it service. Last year I changed the lower unit oil and had to get the impeller replaced. After not being able to get it running after 7 months of not fishing I replaced the battery and the spark plugs, still not starting. So I have decided to get the motor serviced. My question is what do they do when they service the engine and roughly how much do you think it would cost. Thanks for the input

Ok, here is the deal. I Haven’t ran my 2003 Mercury XR6 150hp since May, (I know I should have at least run it a few times). The gas is good, a new battery and spark plugs, still a no go. Talked to some co-workers who have had boats in the past and They told me to try fogging oil in the spark plugs, with doing that it does want to crank up but just for a few seconds.I know these engines are terrible for trying to crank cold, my wife says to take it some place to get it looked at but I’m just stubborn it was running fine before. Any thoughts???

Spark plugs, What’s the good spark plug? I have decided to change out my spark plugs to see if that’ll help start my engine.

Thanks Rhino, I have a 2003 Triton tr-185 and my motor won’t start. I bought a new battery because the other one wouldn’t charge up. But the motor still will not start. I have been reading that bad gas might be the problem. So I need the fuel tank size to see how much gas I might need to siphon out. I’m hoping that I put in more good gas then bad gas that might have already been in there. So I need a little help.

Anyone know the fuel tank size of a triton tr185???One with think you could enter that in the Internet and it would come up but no it doesn’t unless I’m doing something wrong

Nope, didn’t do any of that MN Fisher. But I will say that I just put 23 gal of gas in it and it hold 25 I think. Plus I did put some sea foam in it, I’ll try starting it up again tomorrow

OK, it’s been 7 months since I started my XR6 Mercury 150 hp outboard. I’m thinking it’s not gonna start up right away would anybody agree with that assessment? Is there anything that I should be concerned about? I will say I just put in a brand new battery Sunday any thoughts would be appreciated.

I got to see the reel before my wife wrapped it up and I think it’ll be just fine.

Just to let y’all know I bought my battery today, I went from a 24MS, 625 MCA to 29DC 845 MCA and it’s a EverStart Maxx. Thanks for all the input and Merry Christmas

Big Rick, I was at walmart to look at those Everstart Maxx batteries but on the label they says automotive batteries. Is that the same battery you’re talking about?

I just ordered the Orras40 because I have large hands and thought that would be better to use. Now I’m thinking of sending it back to TW when I get it and exchange it for the Orras30 or will the 40 still work ok??? I wonder how TW is about exchanges???

Looks like I am going to need to buy new batteries for my 03 Triton. Was talking to a friend of mine and he says Interstate batteries are good that won’t break the bank. Anyway anyone’s advice would be great. By the way I have a 150 Mercury
