I don’t like Abu...
I have heard that they do share the same place and parts but for some reason the lews seams easier to clean. And of course this is my opinion.

I don’t like Abu...
After cleaning my one and only Abu Garcia Revo 4 baitcaster, I must say that I’m going to get rid of it. I have cleaned it twice now and after both times I just don’t like them. I’m going back to Lews...just saying

Handle loose
Ok I’m finally down to two reels left to clean. I have a bps pro qualifier baitcast reel that I just finished cleaning, have all the parts were the belong but the handle is loose. Why would that be??? I might just take it back and Exchange it. Anyway any input would be nice.

Delaware Valley Tackle or Lews???
From an earlier post I talk about not cleaning my reels any longer. (The drag doesn’t click) I was given great advice about cleaning and how to fix the problem. I gave it another try and just gave up. So I plan to send it off, now who should I send it to??? Our sponsor DVT or Lews? The reel is a Lews tournament mb. So what would you do? Thanks for your input and have a blessed day.

About to give up cleaning my reels...
Update: I cleaned another reel with no problem. Took photos and was a breeze. I tried the other reel that the drag doesn’t click and still know luck.

About to give up cleaning my reels...
I own 3 Lews Tournament MB reels, I cleaned one and it fine, finish the 2nd one and now the drag doesn’t click. Its a little frustrating to say the least. Any advice is appreciated. Ps there are no extra parts left over

Life time membership???
I keep getting requests to be a lifetime member of B.A.S.S. Do you think it’s worth it??? I don’t care to much for what you get to join. If they take the tackle bag out and that hat that’s too small and replace it with a lews reel I might think about it. Just saying, Anyway happy fishing. Look forward too your reply’s

Rods
I was once advised to try a few different rods to find out which ones I like from someone on this site when I first got on BR. So I did, I’m in the price range of $100.00 to let’s say $150.00 give or take few dollars. I like Falcon and Lews Rods. I didn’t care for St Croix Mojo to much but Dobyns are nice too. Anyway, that’s my 2 cents.

Cleaning Reels question
I’m so glad I started this post, I almost didn’t. When I first got that butter I used it a couple of time but just wasn’t sure about it. Now it’s going in the trash...

Cleaning Reels question
So I’m thinking about getting lews oil and grease today. Right now I’m using Reel butter by ardent, just oil for the bearings from Lubrication engineers. Just want to make sure I’m using the right stuff to keep the reels working at their best.

Cleaning Reels question
When cleaning ones reel, do you disassemble your reel to do so? Or do you just do a basic cleaning? I always thought you had to disassemble your reel to clean it all the time. And would you use the manufactures products to grease and oil your reels? Thanks ahead of time for your replies.

Alligators and Small Boats
I lived in Naples, FL for over 45 years, Naples is just on the edge of the Everglades. I have fished with gators in the water and never had a problem with them. Buddy of mine and I fished along Alligator Ally (I forgot the mile marker and before the fence went up) in a 12 foot Jon boat and we saw around 10 gators and not one bothered us. The old adage if you leave them alone they’ll leave you alone, it’s pretty spot on. Enjoy your fishing

Some guidance if you will.
I love Lews reels, of the 9 reels I own, 6 are Lews. I wish all of them were. The next reel I get, it’ll be a Lews. As for the rods, I have a few different ones that I like. I have Falcons,Lews, Dobyns and a couple more from other companies. I like them all but some more then others. I hope this helps and good luck. Bass fishing is all I really love to fish for so welcome to bass fishing.

Tournament entitlement?
I work 12 shifts and have every other weekend off, I don’t fish weekends but fish during the week if time allows. Anyway I was fishing on a Thursday on Hartwell didn’t know a BASS Elite series tournament had just started. I came to my favorite fishing spot to start the day. Two boats were there but its a big area so I didn’t think much about it and started fishing. One of the boats left so I went to where he was at and caught one at which time my wife said the the man in the other boat was watching me but didn’t say anything. Anyway when I found out that there was a tournament going on I was surprised but kept fishing. Anyway I went to another area and a pro came behind me at a safe distance. I offered to to get out of the way which he was glad about but was very nice and thank me for doing that. We talk for a minute and he thank me again. Its amazing what happens when people are respectful and polite. Anyway that’s my story

Bank Fishing In Se Florida (Sarasota, Venice Etc)
I lived in Naples for about 45 years and didn’t own a boat but fished all the time. The best place to bank fish is on a golf course if you can get on one. My biggest bass caught was 7.5lbs from a golf course. Go after they close, unless you live on one, anyway good luck and catch a big one.

2022 The Classic...Lake Hartwell
How many are going to be able to go to The Classic? I live 30 minutes away. I will be going.

Should BASS disqualify John Cox ?
My take is this. He knew the rules before the season and before the tournament, he shouldn’t have fished it. B.A.S.S shouldn’t have to remind the angers not to fish the competition tournaments. So I say disqualify him and off with his head. “Let it be written, let it be done”

Everglades kayak fishing
Going fishing in the Everglades in a kayak??? The gators in the Everglades are bigger then the kayak. Might want to think that over a little bit.

Cranking Rods???
The other day I asked the question about my reels which are 6.6:1 and 6.8:1. About how I should set them up for fishing. And the response was for crankbaits, swimbaits and jerkbaits etc... Now my question is, what rods should I use for the crankbaits and jerkbaits etc.??? I do own a Dobyns Fury 705cb 7’ rod which is a cranking rod. I also own Some similar rods. Will these other rods also be good for crankbaits etc.??? I just want to make sure I rig these up right. Thanks for all your input have a blessed day.

One 6.6:1 and Two 6.8:1 reels
I have started to clean my reels for I have shut down my fishing for the year which never started. I have eight total, of which 6 are Lews, 1 Abu Garcia and 1 BPS Pro Qualifer. The Abu Garcia has a gear ratio of 6.6:1 and two of the Lews has a gear ratio of 6.8:1. My question is, how or what would one fish these gear ratios??? The rest of my reels are Lews 7.5:1. I always thought all my reels were 7.5:1 but surprise. After this amount of time it might not even matter. Anyway thanks for your input and have a blessed day.

How Long Is Your Average Fishing Outing ??....
It’s simple for me...as long as I can. All day long if possible, I try not to count the hours.
