  1. Nice fish!
  2. Yep, 6wt, class 5 sinking line. There's a trench south side of the river, casted towards the bank counted 10-14 seconds and stripped with moderate speed.
  3. Went yesterday, managed about 10-15 on a chartreuse and white fly in 4hrs. They're down deeeeeep! I'm not sure what this storm will do to them though.
  4. Do these laws apply to individuals selling items? Or for Visa/Master card business owners? Very big difference there. We pay fees left and right anywhere from banking to buying online movie tickets. For me paypal is for the buyers convenience. I could care less if I get a check, money order, or cash. If I get a check or MO I'm sure as heck waiting for it to clear and the bank to give me an OK before I'm sending the item out and that could take several days. If you want to use paypal, go ahead, but I'm not eating the fees for your convenience. If I had a business this would be different but I'm just a guy trying to sell an item here or there.

  6. Is the date set for this? I'll be able to make the 16th!
  7. It was fun! The guy said he was using a heavy sinking line to get it down fast. I caught my 6 near the top...but he was catching them pretty consistently near the bottom. The weather next week is horrible hopefully they'll start to run en mass soon.
  8. Can't make it either. I was there today, water was pretty muddy. About 1ft of visibility, surface water temp around noon was ~54. I only caught 1 pickerel off a jerk bait.
  9. I'm down for Powhatan, wouldn't mind taking my kayak out there
  10. I'll be in Nova that weekend, put me down as a maybe also!
  11. I don't worry about gear ratio for jerkbaits, most of the time you're just picking up slack line from jerking the bait.
  12. I feel st croix in general have faster actions than anything else i've used of comparable action. St Croix "Fast" would probably be considered an xfast by other manufacturer. This seems to be true from Triumphs to LTBs, I haven't used anything past....yet... ;D
  13. I used to have a Hobie Sport and now I'm in a Hobie Revo. In my opinion they're great fishing kayaks, practically hands free and the pedal system is simple to put in and take out. For the hobies the pedal drive propels you forward only and you steer with a handle that's on your left. I believe the Native version allows you to reverse peddle to go backwards. The pedals don't go completely flush with the kayak but are close enough so won't get caught unless you're paddling through thick vegetation. Loading and unloading is just like any other kayak, once the pedals are removed. Worth it? depends on the type of fishing you do. If you fish in small ponds/lakes then you'll do just fine with regular paddling kayak. If you fish larger open water and you want to cover more distance, hobies are a good option, but a good 14ft kayak [eg Tarpon 140 or comparable] can easily keep up. Where I see my Hobie shine is when I'm fishing moving water. If fish are hanging out under a bridge and the tides are ripping in/out, I can easily keep in casting distance while a paddler would have to paddle back every cast.
  14. A yak would be much less trouble. To put a trolling motor on an inflatable you'd need to buy a trolling motor mount also. If you want to stand, you'll need floorboards. Not worth the hassle of putting it all together and taking it all apart.
  15. I say save your money up for something else. I used to fish from something similar, a sea eagle inflatable and a coleman inflatable kayak. If there's any wind at all your gonna get blown around if you don't put a trolling motor on. Save for a kayak, my 2 cents. ps I drive a 03 civic coupe
  16. Use whatever gives you confidence.
  17. 8lbs or 22inches for citation!

  19. Biomagnification. They don't grow fast by sitting around doing nothing, they're a pretty voracious predator.
  20. Good to meet you all, and good to see you again Sam. Started off slow, didn't get a hit until I went to the other side, gf called and of course I hook up. I went to pocket my phone and the fish decided to swim towards me the exact moment i took my hand off the reel. Eventually hooked up on a dink with a magic shad, and on my way out I got hit and landed another small one ~2lbs.
  21. The individual packaging is a complete waste.
  22. I'm down, haven't fished rooty in forever since getting the kayak. Should be fun!
