Docks are always good here. Better in warm/hot weather after 10 a.m though.

My dad mostly. But everyone in my family fished. 2 Aunts, 2 uncles , my mom, my brother… My first cousin . I think I mis-read the OP’s first post. I thought it was who got me into fishing… With rods and reels I just took whatever my dad got me- mostly zebcos and abu- garcia reels. When I got around my friends they were mostly using shakespeare casting reels, so I got me one. I started on diawa reels later on my own because they weren’t too expensive and they were very available. I somehow eventually switched to Shimano mostly. And Ugly stik rods ! All my friends had one… .

You too? I think the last time I went in one I had to tell them no 3-4 times before I got away.

Dern @Catt, me and you could be twins, except that I outweigh you by a considerable amount… Ive got wavy hair- one hair waving goodbye to the other one. That is on top. Tried a beard and it was mostly white ( in my late forties) so I cut it off but kept the hair around the mouth only.

2 hour one -way trips are my absolute limit. There’s a lot of good water under that time for me. When I was young, I would leave so I would be at the ramp by daybreak, fish all day til dark, load up and drive home. I would be a little tired. Now I dont see too well in the dark, especially coming home tired. So I rarely do that anymore unless someone else is driving! I used to drive to camping spots on lakes by dusk, set up camp, run a trot line for a few hours, eat what we caught, sleep, then get up at daybreak, bass fish almost to dark the next day, load up and drive home in the dark. Never had any problem.

Glad you caught some and looks like it was a enjoyable trip… Wish I’d known you were going to little santa fe. That’s another lake Ive fished a lot. It can be challenging.

Got this big bream off the dock yesterday evening…

The friend I fish with the most and me both fish generally the same way. We mostly fish T rigged plastics. When it’s in his boat, he fishes a little faster than I would, and seems to forget I’m fishing too sometimes with the way he positions the boat and gives me little room to fish. But I have no complaints. It’s not blatant on his part, and I catch plenty of fish anyway. We are closer to agreement than anyone else I fish with. In your case, I’d definitely find other opportunities to fish like you want to.

You can definitely draw well enough. Sometimes the rough drawings make it funnier somehow. The far side fishing cartoons were all hilarious. They had that “ fishes point of view “ thing going too…

Got 12 on friday afternoon. I caught most of them on super flukes , watermelon red and houdini colors. I fished a chatterbait hard and came up with nothing , as usual. Also fished a jerkbait off and on, with the same result. They didnt want a craw either. I also fished the rage tail cut-r, which usually produces a good fish or two, but not this time. Nothing over 2 pounds, so no pics this time… Didnt see but one bed, which is unusual for this time of year.

Which works better ? I have tried the wacky rig and rarely catch anything, mainly just clumps of weeds. Not so with the T rig. I’m mainly referring to senko use . I know some of y’all do well with wacky rigged worms too. Not me. I did have a friend fish with me once and we tied with 15 each- him with a wacky senko, me with a T rigged super fluke ( of course ). I tried a wacky rigged senko later, and quickly went back to catching weed clumps.?

It never becomes un-fun for me when it catches fish, which is most of the time… For me , it’s a toss up between a senko and a zoom super fluke. Uv speed worm is right up there too.

I don’t remember the timeline of the shows but Bill Dance was my favorite show, and it came on at a time where I could watch it the most. I got Rolands show too, and Hank Parker. I liked in fisherman even though they were way up north and fished for strange fish ( to us) like walleyes etc. I also got “ O’neal outdoors “ ? I think was the name of it. I know he was based in Georgia. We had a local show too that was called “ Out the door “ with Monroe Campbell. He lived near me, and always had time to talk fishing. His shows were especially interesting because they were all done around here.

PB was on a mann’s jelly worm. I don’t fish with them much any more for some reason…? 2nd biggest bass was on a 4 inch senko. 3rd biggest bass was on a cut off raggedy 5 inch senko. 4th and 5th biggest bass was on a zoom super fluke.I have caught more 5-8 pound bass on them than any other bait . 6th biggest was on a 7.5 culprit worm. 7th biggest was on a booyah pad crasher. This doesn’t reflect my live bait catches…

I had a guy fishing my lake once .( had never seen him before or since) that told me he just caught “around” a 17 pound bass and had just released it . No pics. I KNEW he was lying, but just moved on and didn’t say anything as he kept jabbering about it …

I am feeling better this morning than I have in a week. Cough is now almost gone . I started a new Blood pressure medicine this week that doesn’t make me cough either. I feel really rested. Took a day off, so plan on some fishing later. Yeah, this virus is the strangest in my lifetime.. It’s definitely one of the worst. I do think a lot of the counted deaths were not from the virus. Just my opinion. My best friend died from delta in september. ( On my birthday ).His death in many ways has been harder to take than my parents. Both of them were very old, so it was expected. With Arthur, we all were confident he would make it but he didn’t. Other than my dad , he was the best man I ever knew. One friend that was there for me regardless of the circumstances . I tried to be the same for him. We had a lot in common. Our Faith, Family, and friends. Both of us had daughters that struggled with addictions. Never any judging, just understanding and concern. Life is really strange without him around. And he didn’t even fish!

I also taught my middle son to play baseball, older son was more into football. Middle son would have been a great DH . He often either hit a home run or struck out. He was never a very fast runner and his arm wasnt great. But man, he hit some tape measure shots for his age until he quit at 15.

My taste came back today. From what I’ve heard, Im fortunate. I try not to take life too seriously all the time, but not tasting a good, tasty meal is pretty serious in my book. Im coughing up a bunch of phlegm but there seems to be a big supply left down there, otherwise feeling better overall. Thanks again for the advice and concerns…

Man, I’m sorry for her… I have . I got vaccinated right before my best friend caught delta and eventually passed away from it… Glad your wifes better. I did a face time with my doc yesterday and he got me some medicine.

Jean shorts ( jorts ) are a thing in Florida. I have a pair I wear fishing. I dont know who Ed Hardy is, but the only time I ever wore a backwards baseball cap is when I played catcher , lol.

Thanks for the replies. What’s weird is nobody in my family ( 5 people ) that live with me have had any symptoms at all. I have the most contact with the public though. But you’d think if it was covid one of them ( esp. my wife) would have gotten it from me. Thankful they haven’t. Definitely some weird times. Me, I feel 75% better, but still have chest congestion. All I can taste is the dayquil and onions . ?
