  1. It’s 90 here at the moment. Normal for this time of year. I just mowed 2/3 of the back yard …😅, after doing some brush cleanup and installing normal spouts on my gas cans. I can’t stay at it quite as long as in the old days in the heat.
  2. Got another one from the church pond but not THE one.
  3. Florida and Georgia. I may have bass fished a little in NC as many times as I went there to see family.
  4. I just thought of this but the one who told me to leave doesn’t live there anymore. His wife died 3 years ago or so and he sold the house. Havent met the new couple yet, but hopefully they won’t be like “ Dave “.
  5. The thing with my incident was that I was bream fishing out in front of his dock not under it. I had my best friends teenage son with me. We had already caught several ( and released them) . Talk about defensive. I nearly told him” I have 3 grandaughters that fish at my dock, and it wouldn’t bother me if you were fishing at my dock like I am at your dock.” I fished past his dock literally hundreds of times, and never saw a child , or anyone else, fishing at his dock.
  6. Karen’s gotta Karen. A male version of that told me I couldn’t fish his dock ( from my boat ) because his grandaughter fished there. I didn’t say anything because I thought I couldn’t possibly have heard him right. I just looked at him and he said it again. I was getting angry so when that happens I will leave because I have had a terrible temper and will take it too far. He was still running his mouth and I never said a word. Thought seriously about coming back and trying to catch all the fish I could there. But I decided that wasn’t the Christian thing to do. 😇
  7. Have caught up just now on this and want you to know you’re in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks also for such a positive attitude you have. I just had viral Bronchitis since memorial day and had to go to emergency room because I coughed so hard I popped a blood vessel under my rib cage. Then a big softball size hematoma popped up. I then got the worst bruise from that Ive had in my life. Getting old ain’t for sissies!
  8. Didnt fish long but got 1 anyway…
  9. I don’t know if it’s considered a ribbon tail, but UV Speed worms are my top producer for all baits this year. If that’s not included, Culprits would be my choice.
  10. For me , it was lack of awareness and understanding of what a drag was there for. I had so many bass break my line early on. I also didn’t think about nicks in the line either, which led to more breaks at the hookset. And back then , everyone set the hook like it was a life or death situation !😅
  11. Water clarity is a bigger issue. In my home lake , the water ranges from fairly clear in the summer to moderately stained in the winter. Our lake is full ( probably 60% coverage) of eel grass. I do very well with watermelon seed and watermelon red, esp. in summer. But green pumpkin works well also. In cooler months or lower light conditions I do better with june bug. I honestly haven’t seen any difference between colors fishing grassy areas as opposed to not fishing them. The same colors work in the water body regardless if I’m fishing grass or not…
  12. I finally got out on the home lake today after 5. Hot, clear and breezy conditions. Best they have bitten in 2 years. Nice average size today too, with several over 18 inch. The biggest just under 20 . Caught several, including 2 of the biggest in the lay downs on the east side of our island. Caught another one of the big uns in a big eel grass patch. I had to keep the rod tip up high to get that one out ! . I caught most of the fish on the UV speed worm. Caught them on the pumpkin until I ran out, then caught some on watermelon red. As it began to get dark , I caught a few on junebug. Also caught several On the super fluke and yum dinger. I ended up with 20 in about 3.5 hours fishing.
  13. Prayers sent !
  14. I usually do for various reasons. I need to find all mine- I just realized that most of the 10 or so that I have are missing. Thanks for the reminder ! Maybe it’s time to restock ! 😀
  15. We’re spending time at our son’s cabin in the Rockies… more to come…
  16. Got this one out back with a uv speed worm…
  17. There was a story in the Florida sportsman magazine many years ago about a 19-20 pound bass being caught at Lake Tarpon on a 2-3 feet long live snake. This is completely from memory but I’ll try to find more on it. Just checked and saw that the lake record was a 19 pounder caught on a live eel. That must be the same fish.
  18. First topwater frog fish of the year… he came up and pecked it in …
  19. I used wolverine boots for years but it seemed every pair wore out sooner than the last. This year I went to the Red ball store and got a pair of Irish Setter work boots. Had to pay 1/3 more than normal but They have a good free maintenance plan moving forward. So far so good.
  20. I don’t. Why would anyone hate it ?
  21. A 20 inch fish today out of the church pond…
  22. I can fish there anytime I want. I didn’t want to seem like I was jumping on the bandwagon trying to catch it. There were 2 guys trying to catch it again when I was there last night…
  23. @Swamp Girl That guy kinda looks like zach lol @Pat Brown Different fish. This fish was caught out at our church FARM pond, which is around 25 miles from the church pond where I keep trying to catch that one.
  24. It’s the church farm pond cracken. Not the church pond cracken Ive been after. I probably caught this fish when it was 3 1/2 pounds. Another friend caught it several years ago when it was around 7 pounds… I should have focused on this fish. But the farm pond is heavily pressured by the men who live their on site… It was released , so who knows? Maybe I’ll catch it again…
  25. We also threw back a lot of bream we could have kept. With 5 of us in the boat there was at least 1 fish coming in at all times. Multiple fish many times. Yes, the Oklawaha is still a very wild and scenic river. Like most of Florida was 50 years ago. The Gators are mating- we heard a couple males doing their grunt up in the little creek we were in. Hadn’t heard that in a while….
