  1. Got a couple on the magnum speed worm while reeling across the top of weeds down my bulkhead. It doesn’t show it very well , but this was the darkest fish of the year…
  2. Tried another pond a county south of mine. Fished for app 1.5 hours and got 2, one on a yum dinger and one on a super fluke. 2 bites-2 fish. The cypress are changing color, which is most of the fall color we see here…
  3. Slow at work today, so I hit a work route pond for 45 minutes. Only produced 1 bite and 1 fish on the watermelon red speed worm…
  4. 5 pounds 2 oz . My lake is starting to produce some decent fish again…
  5. Not renewing mine this year either… I turned 65 , and I don’t have to have one in Florida ANYMORE!! 🤠
  6. Yeah the little one instigates the conflict , then the pit carries it out. The pit has gotten out twice and fought the neighbors pits before we got them separated. Thankfully nobody was injured.
  7. This is our pit and chiwawa Super sweet with people, , but they’ll fight other dogs if they get the chance.
  8. No, but the freshwater lakes in Hannah park have a lot of fish in there. Kinda murky water so it’s a challenge to fish for bass. Double digit fish have beeN caught there though
  9. Finally got my grandaughter out fishing today. She normally gives me a run for the money but I just couldn’t put her on any fish. I managed 7 . Kinda slow bite overall. The last fish ( and the only fish I lost ) was a hawg. I had skipped a magnum june bug speed worm to the left of some grass in 2-3 fow. I looked around to see where Mackayla was, and when I looked back a fish had picked up the bait and had already gone 15 feet or so to the left. I crossed his eyes , but he didn’t turn the slightest bit. Then he came unbuttoned…😕 Still , a nice relaxing evening on the water …
  10. Late to the thread, but prayed for your mom. My mom fell and broke her arm when she was 82, and it only took 6 weeks or so to heal…
  11. Not for me. A bass boat can definitely help but…. When I had one it was way too easy , desirable , and downright fun to move around looking for fish. I “ downgraded “ to a smaller jon boat , 2.5 horse kicker, and trolling motor. I went back to fishing smaller waters and have caught thousands more bass than I ever did when I had a bass boat. I don’t think I’d care for the other 2 because it would change the way I fish . And I’m happy and content with my fishing already. Probably couldn’t afford them anyway. I’ll take the chips though 🤠
  12. Kent , Seriously I don’t mind you fishing the church pond , but It’s very hard to catch bass on artificials there. I think the most I ever caught there in 2 hours of fishing or less is 3 . Sometimes you can fish all the way around it and catch nothing.
  13. This is from a customer’s house today. I fished this lake back in the 80s and did pretty good . I secured permission from the owner today to fish . Another good thing is he’s friends with the owner of my work company, so there’s a trust there. It’s a very cool body of water , private, and UF stocked it. Only 20 minutes from my house…
  14. Kent, That “secret spot” is one of the ponds at church. Thought I told you. If you play heavy metal in the boat, I’m jumping out, tooth or no tooth! I’d settle for some Skynyrd though… I know you’d be down with that lol…
  15. My old dentist retired probably 15 years ago. My teeth were in good shape then. I figured if I brushed twice a day all would be well if I didn’t go to the dentist. not my brightest thought in life. Last year my teeth began to hurt a little, and I found a new dentist, who has now done 6 cavities. I still need several crowns… I just went on medicare. Throw that into the mix. I need 3 extractions, according to the new dentist. One hurts and I’m trying to find a oral surgeon that will accept my insurance. I have made many calls and I don’t half understand any of it… I am trying to work 2 jobs also, and have little time for all this. I have an appt with a oral surgeon this Thursday, but they won’t tell me if my insurance covers it or not until I come in. Will probably cancel and keep looking for another one. It better be quick , because I’m running low on moxicillon!!
  16. Gators take down Texas ! They are the proverbial “box of Chocolates” Forrest Gump mentioned. You just don’t know what you’re going to get from one game to the next…
  17. Got this 21 incher in the church pond…
  18. Was working near home today around lunchtime, so I stopped by and cast for a few minutes! watermelon seed speed worm again!
  19. Ive caught shiners for most of my life. It takes time until you’ve put in the work. I would start with small ponds nearby , because the fish will not be spread out . Buy some cheap bread. Chum with the bread in the same area at the same time for a few days, or longer. You will have other fish pop the bread too, especially bream. Once you see the swirling of fish eating the bread , just throw a cast net in there and see what you get. Make sure to throw back any sport fish you may catch, like bass or bream. You can legally cast net shiners . Another tip is to watch ponds where people feed ducks. You will see fish popping the bread before the ducks can get to it. Try several different ponds . Shiners are fairly common, so you should be able to find some..
  20. Got a bunch of bream the last hour or so of sunlight…
  21. Got several fish the last hour or so of the day. Cool, cloudy , low humidity. Feels great after a hot summer.
  22. I like a lot of their stuff too.
  23. Well, the Gators didn’t lose this week.! 🤠
  24. Looks like your in the north part of the river. Cypress trees were usually my best areas to fish back when I fished the river more. Nice fish !!
  25. The fattest bass I ever caught was 21.5 inches long, and had a 21 inch girth. I caught it in a big pond . I fished there several times and have never caught another bass. It’s full of baitfish too.
