WEAR A PFD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've researched this greatly last year before buying my Mustang. Basically it boils down quality of fit and the amount buoyancy of they provide. The cheaper inflatables will have 25lb of buoyancy while the higher end models will have 35lb. It is said that 25lb will right SOME people face up after deployment while 35lb models will right MOST people face up. So I guess it depends on your size on wether to get the 25lb of 35lb model. IMO, manual inflatables and belts never made much sense to me. Neither would help if your were knocked unconscious for whatever reasons. I wear the Mustang Tournament. Its a 35lb auto-inflate and I like the neoprene collar along with is highly visible color of red. They are on sale at BPS for $160

I get some funny looks sometimes but I wear a Mustang auto inflate 100% of the time....hot or cold.

going to LaCygne
Now, I've only been there once so I don't have tons of experience fishing this lake but from what I can tell, the power plant outlet pretty much warms the whole north end of the lake. I see temps in the mid 50's at least 400 yards from the outlet while the south end had temps in the low 40's the day I was there. At the outlet, I seen 65 surface temps. So, you don't need to park in front of the outlet...theres plently of good fishing water from what I seen. Be aware that sometimes the power plant will shut down for whatever reasons and the warm water flow will stop. If your driving large distances, I would call the marina for current conditions.

going to LaCygne
I'am heading down there friday myself to hopefully beat some of the crowd cause I know that place gets hammered big time on the weekends. I've only fished there once myself on the 6th of Jan so I'am taking what worked then fo me...1/4 oz traps. I plan to fish the bluffs on the north end along with the flats near the outlet. Fishing report says the caught a 8 and a 10 pound LM during the first wek of feb....? Regarding the warm water outlet....the actual outlet into the lake is like a 1/4 mile north of the plant. The warm water runs down a canel that parallels the shore on the east side of the lake. I say this cause I spent like 30 minutes aimlessly bombing around the lake in my jon boat looking for the warm water outlet....I figured the outlet would be right by the plant...I figured wrong...LOL!

2005 Johnson 9.9 Any good?
Thats a fair price but not super great...I'd see if he'll come done a hundred or at least eat the taxes. I have a 05 25hp Johnson myself...runs good and is very simple.

a good one man watercraft?
I would go with a fishing kayak long before messing with a inflatable anything.

Gas or electric?
I have a 40lb edge on the front of my 1548MV Jon and I can easily fish on the trolling motor alone for at least 7 or 8 hours. I run the big marine battery from wallyworld...think its a group 31.

Shimano Citica-Why No Left Handed 101D, Smaller Version???
I got tired of waiting for a 101 Citica so I bought two 101 Curados instead...my rebate check came in three weeks BTW. I find is amazing that the Shimano bean counters decided to make a 301 Curado instead of a 101 Citica....didn't know the 300 series reels were that big of sellers...?

La cygne hotwater
Who didn't fish La Cygne yesterday...holy smokes, there must of been a hundred boats on the water. Rough water (small boat) kept me away from the outlet but I did find some fish along the bluffs all on a 1/4 oz rattletrap. 10 LMB, 1 White bass and 1 Wiper(?)...

Recomendations on a tackle box
Falcon V12 while fishing alone in my boat but I scale back to a Falcon V6 whenever I go out with someone else.

Reel Rebates at Cabelas
If you have a Cabelas close by and have their Cabelas Visa, they'll take $50 off a $200 purchase for using their Visa card till the 24th of Dec. That combined with the $50 Shimano rebate comes out to be a $100 Curado. They give offers like this about three of four times a year for their Visa card holders and I take advantage of them everytime...then I come home and pay them off online.

Loomis 803 or 804
Yoy never say what model you were looking at. The big difference between them is the XF action of the BCR 803. This is what make it ideal for smaller jigs and worms. One of my favorite. I'm looking at both the BCR803 and 804 in Mossyback... the GLX is out of my budget since Santa is buying himself a new Curado 101 as well.

Loomis 803 or 804
Ok, thanks guys....I'm thinking the BCR804 would serve me best since it will be seeing at the lightest of 3/8oz jigs plus whatever trailer I attach to it. Suppose to be crappy weather tomorrow...sounds like a good afternoon to spend shopping at both Cabelas and BPS. I'm fortunate enough (?) to have both within 30 miles of home.

Loomis 803 or 804
I understand that but one rod can be better than another even reel-less although its hard to judge given the fact that most rods are covered with hang tags while on the rod rack. I'm sure they wouldn't find me fitting a reel to check balance but probably wouldn't think kindly of me if I were to cut the hang tags off as well...LOL!

Loomis 803 or 804
I've handled the new 6'6" MH St.Croix rods (Avid and the new split grip LT) and the new Shimano Cumara 6'8" MHXF. They all felt tip heavy compared to the 803 Loomis and with my wrist being jacked up from work..I can't tolerate tip heavy rods for long. This rod will wear a Curado 101....looking for a neutral or just slightly tip heavy balance.

Loomis 803 or 804
So I'm heading to Cabelas soon to buy my first Loomis rod and I'm leaning towards a 80X Mossyback but can't decide on wether to buy a 3 or 4 power rod. I have a 6'8" Avid MXF that I use for light plastics and light 1/8 and 1/4 jigs and I'm wanting something with more power than my Avid. This rod will be used for the most part with jigs up to 1/2 oz but mostly 3/8... and some heavier plastics. What would be the next step up from my Avid is the question I guess. Thanks

What a deal!!!!
Cabelas ( bess their hearts!) sent me another one of their offers of $50 off the purchase of $200 when using my cabelas visa card...so with the rebate it looks like a $100 Curado 101 for ME! or...they'll give me $85 off a $400 purchase with using their Visa so I'll probably end up with a new Loomis 803 Mossyback as well. $275 for a new Curado/803 Mossyback combo...can't beat that!

lure retriever
I bought the BPS E-Z Lure Retriever and while I've only used it twice, it did do the job. I bought the cheap $7 version and if I was to buy again I'd get the deluxe $10 version with the reel cause mine is currently a tangled mess.

Christmas is coming soon.............
Santa Garry will get himself a new BCR803 or 804 Mossyback and while he wants a new MG51, he'll probably settle for a 101 Curado. Life is sooo hard being single...LOL!

got the wrong reel
You got yourself a crankbait reel. I have one myself on my crankbait rod...very smooth and casts for miles...I LOVE mine!

What Type of Boat do you fish with?

How do you determine rod & reel balance?
lol thats what im starting to think too.....why buy lightweight stuff if you need to add weight to it to get it to balance.... now your catching on...
