flippin' hooks
I gave the Paycheck Baits flipping hooks a try in the fall. Didn't get to use them a lot but I like what I saw.

Couple from this week...
All of your baits look awesome. I really like the crack finish! Would like to see some more of your work including that.

Fly fishing rocks
Definitely one of the best fishing videos I've ever seen. Makes me want to expand my fly fishing from panfish to the bigger species. I could see you doing that Bizz. Lets see some pic-heavy posts from a fly-fishing bass trip.

OSU-Ole Miss
I know they won but you can't actually say the really accomplished something...

Anybody try the BPS Stalker Tackle Bag?
I got the bag in September after asking the members on here about it. I know many of them offered up great reviews and that gave me the confidence to go for it. No regrets. Lots of storage and well made.

Fluoro question
I'm not sure how big you're wanting to go but I regularly use 17-20lb test Berkley 100% fluoro for most of my jigs/tx rig/carolina rigs. I even do most of my flipping and pitching with the 20 lb fluoro. No problems from the line other than not retying as often as I should. Also--KVD Line and Lure will help keep the line more supple and user-friendly. Strongly recommend that as well.

Handheld GPS Question?
I will also give a recommendation for the Lowrance H2O. Good unit that is easy to get accustomed to.

PSU - LSU
Haha. Good to hear you've been ringing the New Year in properly. I have a lot of Respect for Joe Pa and Bowden as well. I got the opportunity to shake hands and speak with Bowden several years ago and I hate to see what happened to him. Glad that they won like they did.

GO BEARCATS. ANYONE?
Yea Demps definitely hurt his arm trying to catch himself. Pretty rough looking injury. Although I thought they said on the game last night that he fractured his arm as well?

Jerkbait help.
Guys thanks. Everyone has been truly helpful so far. As soon as our temps get back to the upper 30s I plan to get out and give them all a try.

Proto 3 - Shallow Flat Hybrid (w/vid)
I know you're still in the proto phase but I'm ready to see a finished bait!

Things that make you go hmmmmm?
Well... In fishing the Bassmaster Weekend Series events, I can say they care a lot about the health of the fish. They do everything they can to make sure the fish stay in oxygenated water, are fizzed, and handled and released properly and quickly.

This should be interesting...
He probably wears it as cologne

smallmouth and cranks
I have caught smallmouth on cranks like the Bomber Fat Free Shad BD6 and the Norman DD22 as well as smaller cranks like the Rapala Shad Rap size 5 and 7 and Norman Deep Little N. Most of my catches have been on chartreuse/blue or citrus shad. My silver/black shad rap catches them in early spring though.

Custom Painting - How important?
What I meant to say haha

Whats your favorite hooks?
Owner for pretty much every technique.

Alabama/Texas It's Time To Start This Thread
Texas was almost defeated by Ndamukong Suh. The Alabama defense has a much better supporting cast behind their big man as well as a much stronger offense. I'm not sure why there is a doubt?

Custom Painting - How important?
I could justify the expensive, highly-detailed jobs if it were swimbaits and possibly in suspending jerkbaits but not any other bait. I don't think the fish have enough time to take in those details on any other bait. Now I could see getting some baits painted in color schemes that are productive for you and aren't available.

What was your first artificial lure?
My fishing started with bluegill. For that I used small jigs with plastic grubs. Then we had a pond placed behind my house and our neighbors and I had my first experience with bass on a Heddon Tiny Lucky 13 that I took out of my dad's tacklebox. Used to use that all the time but now I keep it on my dresser. It will never see the water again.

If you had the chance to sit down with one professional angler 1 on 1 and honestly talk FISHING...
I've had the opportunity to speak with Mike Mcclelland about what he looks for in deep structure. This was after the weigh in one day last year at the Old Hickory tournament. He took me to his boat and pulled up the map of Kentucky Lake on his gps unit and showed what he looks for and what his strategy is during practice. Really awesome guy. Another "pro" I would like to spend some time with is Kelley Jordon. Another deep structure guy that I wouldn't mind fishing with. Would love to fish with Catt for a summer as well.

A question for non-boater tourney anglers.
I think the best thing is that if it's a draw tourney, talk to your partner in advance. Ask him what his plan for the day is? The depth and areas he plans to fish should help you narrow down what lures and rods you'll need for the day. Then ask him how much room you'll have on his boat.

Y'all Pick
Never ridden in a Bass Cat but I have ridden in the Skeeter with an HPDI and the ride and handling are outstanding.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TOPWATER LURE AND WHY??????
I have a Spro Dawg in gold/black that for some reason just flat out catches fish. I've tried other Spro Dawgs and this one is just special. It out fishes my Sammys as well. I fish that on a 7' MH Fast rod with 14lb Berkley Big Game. Other than that it would be a sanded down Rebel Magnum Pop-R in bone. I fish it on a 6'8" M Mod rod with 10 lb mono.
