  1. I know in PA, at the end of the class you actually take the test on one of their bikes and you get your license if you pass. I took that option just in case I had a mishap, I wasn't dinging up my own equipment. I think the class is definitely worthwhile. There was a classroom component and a practical component. Both had merit and I learned great stuff from each. Good luck. I've been riding for 14 years. My 3 year old has definitely curbed me some but I still enjoy getting out when I can.
  2. I think you might get a better response to your questions if you ask them seperately in the forum. That's kinda how it is supposed to work.
  3. It's tied in among the cookie cutters before the big chica last year. LOL
  4. Im at 38-12, all largemouth, all from the big bass factory of Pennsylvania.
  5. Fly rod. They are measured in "weight" kinda like bass rod ratings. The "weight" pertains to the size line (and fly size) that you'll throw. Higher number = Heavier applications.
  6. That's impressive actually. LOL
  7. This swimbait stuff is just too much to handle.... Give me Roboworms and some of those new fangled mushroom thingerz and I'm happy.
  8. -Make your bait seem vulnerable. -Fish it in areas where you've known big bass to frequent. -Fish it adjacent to obvious ambush points. Most of all, FISH IT. Too many guys pick up a swimbait thinking it's going to be a magic bullet. If you give up after 15 minutes and start throwing a crankbait, you'll never effectively learn what to do and what not to do.
  9. Where can I see these "swimbaits" you speak of? Man, don't buy into the "only Cali bass eat big baits." If you snoop around enough and pay attention, you'll see guys that have adopted the big bait mantra and have been at least partly successful with it.
  10. Thoughts to your brother from another rider.
  11. That's a good fish, no doubt. I'm gonna get some popcorn though.....
  12. I'll bring the big stuff, just let me know where to meet you.
  13. What's small? I'd consider most of the places I fish to be small and yes, there are 8+ fish in every one of them.
  14. I know you're not naive enough to believe that statement. It's the fishing industry. Of course it will be marketed regardless.
  15. My guess is pike. As was said, juveniles make it tough to distinguish. The pore count would probably be the most effective determination.
  16. LOL, bigger? Sadly something neither you nor Kent will ever experience.
  17. As far as the tail, the fish looked to have dropped her eggs already so I'm guessing it was worn from fanning? I didnt really take notice until now. I'll check the other pics I have too.
  18. LOL, I like to sneak back there and take pics so no one knows what is in that particular lake.
  19. Yep, this one was PA. Last one posted was MD.
  20. LOL, I think ol' Mads Grosell may have exceeded my limitations with that one. Now that I know what it is, it definitely was designed to troll for pike over in Europe. I'm sure a few will make it up to MN/WI and will meet the teeth of a few large predators there.
  21. If more time on the water is your goal, two things will remove more of your time than anything else: Don't get married. Don't have kids.
  22. Can't see the video at work. I'm guessing from the responses it's either a Deps Code Name Bass or something from Yoshi Ando?
  23. Long fish, appeared to be spawned out already (weird for my area this early). She is definitely not as pretty as some of the short, chunky fish I like to catch but when they creep up over 7 they are all beautiful in their own way. 7-5 on both digis
  24. I wait that long, at least, on quite a few occasions fishing a Hudd. On cold days, I could almost consider your timeline as "fishing fast"
  25. LDC Production XH 8'6" / Daiwa Lexa 300 HSL with Hawgtech Handle Perfect for throwing the Deps 250
