  1. Butch Brown (if you don't know the name, look him up. Trust me.) uses them on his swimbait rig as the eye placement is conducive to the hook staying against the head of the Huddleston. If they are strong enough to handle what he is catching, they will stand up to what ANYONE on this board is able to do.
  2. Amber for sure. Lots of your mirrored lenses use an amber base but the mirroring cuts the light transmission.
  3. Banana Joe was awesome. Looked like a little black gremlin walking around the arena. LOL
  4. I thought I would lose "expensive" pairs of glasses too. When you've got $200+ glasses on your head with some type of cable looped behind your neck, you'd have to TRY and lose them. You become very careful (unless you are Francho apparently) when that type of money is involved. I can't stress Quan's point enough.....you only get ONE SINGLE SET OF EYES.
  5. What is this "culling" you speak of? Totally foreign concept to me as I am happy to catch 5. LMAO
  6. Save your nickels, I can fix that.
  7. Is it seriously still 6 months away? I hate this time of year. Can't shoot anything, can't fish anywhere.....LOL
  8. Hope there is a bunch of R&D behind it. When you say "modular," I hear falling apart on the retrieve.
  9. If you draw the stick that smells like poop on the end......voila, MOD!
  10. Garth Brooks. Just plain awesome.
  11. I know for a fact some of the older guys, particularly those in Florida and other places where the sun is very intense, will back me up on this.... There are two things in fishing that you should never be "cheap" with: your glasses and your sunscreen. I want you to remember that phrase 50 years from now when you are still able to see your skin that has no cancer.
  12. Not at all. Many of the concepts can be applied across a broad spectrum of baits. You are only limited by your imagination.
  13. LOL, I think the swimbait world might be the darkest corner.
  14. Shimany Symetre on sale. It was a fluke, but I got a Abu Revo spinning reel for $80 two years ago. They realized the mistake and would only honor one of the 6 in my cart. LMAO
  15. We would like to thank everyone that helped out with donations for the Special Olympics and the overwhelmingly positive response we got on the forums. Today the weather in Harrisburg at the time of the plunge was approximately 30 degrees with 20mph winds. PERFECT! There were 5 waves of people that did the plunge, this is the video for Lauren's (my wife's) wave. You'll notice her in the middle of the frame, blue shirt jumping up and down attempting to stay warm. Note the CAST for Kids T-shirt, another favorite. More than $117k was raised for Special Olympics. Because of everyone's help, we were able to raise $500 toward that amount. There were some athletes there from Special Olympics and they really seemed to be enjoying the cold weather as much as everyone else. Enjoy and thanks again!
  16. Charlie, I think I like the way you rock and roll brotha.
  17. Swimbait, jerkbait and jig.
  18. My 401 Cardiff holds a ton of line, would be awesome to see the spool.
  19. Don't threaten me with a good time! I'm telling you, if I can find a striper bite I may just extend my stay. Throw in some snakes and bass and I might look for a house. LMAO
  20. I sold my highest dollar one last year. Exceptionally rare 3:16 6" Real Deal. Not too many of them out there. I'll have all the big boys there. Largest thing I'm throwing right now would be the 3:16 Wake bait (10in, 7oz) or the Born Again Armageddon (10in, 7oz). I'll also have the "meat stick" there: 8'6" XH Low Down Custom rod. That thing is an animal. LOL
  21. Trust me, I have confidence in swimbaits probably to a fault. I've never been one to hear "that bait is too big" and take it to heart. I would rather spend all weekend throwing them for a single fish, just to prove to someone that a bass is a bass (or a fish is a fish) and it doesn't have to be California for a swimbait fish to be caught.
  22. Largemouth: swimbait, jig, fluke Smallmouth: Pop R, fluke, swimbait
  23. LOL, I know the bass are supposed to be the main focus but I can't get the snakes out of my head. Do they only really stay under the matted weeds or can you catch them on topwater stuff in more open water? How big of a bait do you think they will attack? Do they prefer any color over another? Are you ever able to see them beforehand and sight fish them?
  24. I am pleased to announce that she hit $500 last night! We are going to Harrisburg tomorrow to pre-register and turn in the cash/checks that folks have given her and then Saturday is PLUNGE DAY! We're both really excited and think it's going to be a great (albeit cold) day. LOL Thanks again for your support!
  25. Dude lives in Florida. It IS Spring. LOL Just keep fishing, time on the water will yield you more fish. Use proven lures and techniques, present them in high percentage areas and fish whenever you can.
