  1. Quan, if I'm coming from two hours away you better get your arse down there. LOL
  2. What is your heaviest setup? Member named DEEP is pretty darn good with swimbaits and I know he is from VA. I would pay attention to what he says as it may translate to your waters pretty well.
  3. I've boiled swimbait tail before but never heard of boiling a crankbait. Should be interesting to see.
  4. Low Down Custom swimbait rod.
  5. I'll just do what I know. Luckily, jigs and topwater frogs are two of those things. LOL
  6. LOL, that guy makes me look tame. It's really not that difficult to make a statement for/against firearms without mentioning political figures. Really, most people can make their own judgement call where you are on the spectrum by just reading a basic post. No need to really delve into explaining why you are one end or the other, or split down the middle. Follow the rules, forum stays. Pretty simple really.
  7. Enough water to fish all day there in the bay and the creeks? I have no problem brining the aluminum aircraft carrier if TM only is not a problem.
  8. Dan, my only problem is I have no outboard motor. Electric only. The guy who I used to borrow a 9.9 from sold it this past year.
  9. LOL, aint that the truth. Clary, how about you listen to what I told you earlier in the thread. I just MAY know what I'm talking about since I've been working at one going on 4 years now. BTW, apply for anything they will give you at first. Easier to fill whatever hole they need at the store and then transfer to your preferred department. Keep in mind, you're not applying at the most prime time of the year. Retail's money is really made from October through December. That is typically when the most people get called back due to seasonal needs. It's during that time you can prove your worth and have a better shot of keeping a job there.
  10. Ruger SR556E, 1k rounds S&W M&P 9mm full size, 2.5k rounds The ol' tin ship is gonna look like a gunboat! LMAO
  11. Not a problem at all, just don't like to see stuff go to waste. I've always wanted to catch one, especially on a swimbait.
  12. Kill them and eat them = Ok with me. Kill them just to kill them = no bueno with me.
  13. You have to kill them? What if they "accidentally" make it back into the water? LOL
  14. I dont fish tournaments all that much and my wife just switched jobs so that she has weekends off, so I'm really down for whatever. All I have to do is request time off from my second job about two weeks in advance. So, there are snakeheads around the area we are fishing?
  15. Oh, the beard will be in full effect. No doubt. I had to trim it up for a wedding at the begining of December, but it's not getting cut again for a while. LOL
  16. I tie my own feathered trebles for jerkbaits. Longer tails will kill the action a bit, giving it the ability to be worked more subtley with less side to side movement. It also allows you to present a bigger profile on the bait while adding next to no weight. Shorter tails, the way I tie them, tend to flair out and present a side profile similar to a tail IMO. I'm not big on adding feathered trebles to hangers other than the rear, purely personal preference.
  17. Don't taze me bro!
  18. Wow, using that map provided above it's only a two hour drive for me. Also didnt realize it was so close to the Quan (fished it with Soccplayer07). I'm likely good to come down, just need someone to tell me EXACTLY what license I would need. You guys have all those goofy permits and what not, I got confused during that part of this thread. LOL
  19. Look up a couple posts from my original. He's a member here, posted on this topic. Watch what he talks about, you'll learn some stuff.
  20. http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2013/01/eastern_sports_and_outdoor_sho_2.html#incart_river Show to be postponed after nearly all exhibitors boycott decision to not allow the display of AR type rifles. 21. The number of tippy canoes recently is appalling. We should ban canoes.
  22. If you are doing clips that you are going to splice together later and you don't want to surf through a whole day of fishing, you can try what I do. If I catch a fish worth putting out there for people to see, I'll land it, unhook it, show it to the camera, etc. At that point, I will stop the video and re-start the video. That way, when you get home you will be loading a couple (bunch) of smaller clips and at the end of each "important" one will be the fish you want to put in the vid. Sounds very rudimentary, but it's effective.
  23. The best information in the thread also happens to be the shortest answer. Call the store location you applied to work at, ask for a manager in the department you applied for and they will let you know if your application has been received. Not all GM locations have employees without a clue. I've been to Bass Pro, Cabela's and Dick's and they all had their fair share of completely clueless employees.
  24. Credit card w/ rewards points for everything that will accept it without tacking on and additional fee. I only use it for things that I have the cash for, but try and make it work for me. In all the time I have had a credit card, I have yet to pay a single cent in interest fees. Ever.
