  1. Hey!
  2. I'm no flipping expert but I got the 8:1:1 and I'm loving it. The fast retrieval is key. Most bites occur on the fall, so more falls equals more bites. At least that's my theory. This pertains to flipping only.
  3. Omg, seriously? What the heck are they thinking?!! Thanks for letting us know. Funny, I see all their sponsor boats have it on them....guess their warranties are all voided.
  4. I think it's a great idea. I'm still cramming 7foot rods into the truck cab. Let us know how it works.
  5. I'm fishing out of a Jackson Big Rig and thinking about purchasing a flipping rod. My question; are you able to horse a large bass out of fall downs or do you wind up pulling your yak into the trees? i.e. Is it practical to flip from a kayak?
  6. HEY MARK!!! I have Shimano reels on all my G- Loomist rods. I buy all my Strike King lures and Trokar hooks from BPS and Bass Mafia. And I wear my Carhart coveralls while driving my Ram truck. Next time you upgrade your Nitro how bout hooking me up with your " old" boat!!!
  7. Well....good for fishing. Heavier boat means bigger motor, means more gas. Bad. Fiberglass doesn't do well against rocks. Bad. Im sure some of the pros here can give you more pros and cons.
  8. Because fiberglass boats generally sit lower on the water the wind doesn't push them as much as aluminium. And they are heavier than aluminium.
  9. There you are fishing your favorite lure when suddenly you feel the bite. You start reeling frantically. It runs to the left! You switch back and it runs to the right! Now your really excited! You get it near the boat, only to find out it was a stick. Come on, you know you've done it!
  10. Your gonna love it! Kayaks are awesome for bass fishing. Especially when they're in the shallows.
  11. I'm looking to add another rig to my arsenal just for top water. I previously had 12lb mono on my Lews speed spool and it cast like garbage. I switched it to fluoro and now it cast like a dream. Perhaps I just had some cheap mono on it? What is the best castable quality mono out there?
  12. Fished two hours this morning post front. NOT A BITE!
  13. I put two of the max-gain poles on my 22' pontoon ( because I'm cheap). They work but any winds over 10 mph scare me.
  14. Caught em today on black and blue chatter bait. Water muddy and 54 degrees.
  15. Anything crawfish colored...ratltrap,crank bait, etc...
  16. Crappie can be unpredictable and hard to find at times. I fish three different lakes for crappie and it seems that there's a new "best color" every year. The good thing is crappie jigs are cheap. Get you a bunch of Bobby Garland colors and sizes. If the water is muddy try a Road Runner. Don't be afraid to go small on the baits. My personal favorites: electric chicken; Cajun cricket; blue thunder Heck, today I caught a 14" crappie on my RatLtrap while I was bass fishing.
  17. Tore them up on Lake Sara today. 12 bass and 1 big ol crappie all on a crawfish colored ratltrap in 10 fow close to the banks and laydowns. Three hours of fishing in a kayak. I hope all this rain doesn't mess it up.
  18. An anchor trolley will help you position the boat. The low profile will actually help with the wind. Ive had the most problems working a jerk bait unless your standing. Crank baits tend to pull the boat. A motor is nice, but not necessary. It adds a lot of weight to carry around. Good luck with your endeavors!
  19. Hey, thanks Glen for all the informative videos.

  21. Unless your willing to spend the big bucks it's a gamble. I bought three strips from -bay to put on my toon and they've lasted for years exposed to the weather. I bought two more to make some attractor lights and they lasted all of two minutes. The safe bet is to pay for a quality product.
  22. I've got a wizard on my big rig and yes they are expensive. That being said, it is a quality product. I enjoy the fast retrieval and internal line storage. It will probably last a lifetime.
