  1. Good god! That's horrible. Almost brought tears to my eyes.
  2. Yeah! And all those people drinking alcohol are sissys. Acting like idiots and killing people. Oh, and those fat people! Man up and get on a treadmill! Oh yeah! All those idiots riding bicycles. Really? A grown man in tights?! And the list goes on... sarcasam off now.
  3. Got it! Thank you all very much.
  4. Hey, I'm trying drop shot for the first time. How long do you leave it in one spot? A minute? 5 minutes? As long as you can stand it?
  5. I thought I was the only one that did that! I thought I was just too stupid to memorize every bait. Yea me! Thanks
  6. I've got a motor on my Big Rig. It is excellent for control while fishing. Foot pedal steering leaves my hands free for fishing. Helps with trolling and controlling the wind. Very relaxing. You can remove it for long trips. They are very stealthy. No splashing paddles and no paddle in the way. Now for down sides, your adding about a hundred pounds to your weight with a big battery and the motor. Your run time is limited. I get 3-4 hours depending on wind, speed and distance traveled. Your max speed is gonna be about 5 mph. You have to recharge after every trip. With all that being said, I love mine. Most trips I never touch a paddle. And if I plan on staying on the lake all day I just remove it and paddle. IMHO, stealth, ease of operation and control make it worth having. I'm a fisherman first and my kayak is a tool. Side story! When I first started fishing with grandpa on Sardis lake he didn't have a trolling motor and he skulled a Jon boat with three people all day. How the heck did he do that? He was a lot tougher than I'll ever be.
  7. I fish cold weather in a Jackson Big Rig. Extremely stable. The dealer put one in the pool and tried to flip it. He stood on the edge and it would not flip. Now loosing your balance is different, but that can happen on any boat.
  8. I don't think you would be surprised at how many people don't have a clue. Last year I fished with a friend that has boated for decades. When I told him he was turning the wrong direction in oncoming traffic he argued with me. I actually had to pull out the iPad and show him. My sympathy to the families.
  9. My 2 cents...either buy a boat your gonna keep forever or buy a boat with cash.
  10. Hey, I'm new to jig fishing so excuse me for my ignorance. So I tried one at our local lake yesterday and honestly I don't think I can use a jig there. Every time I brought it in it was covered with muck (algae, leaves, etc...) Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?
  11. Throw on a beetle spin or rooster tail and watch the fun. Loads of patience is required. If my kids go, I don't plan on fishing myself. Just spend time helping them.
  12. My PB also. While fishing a small farm pond you could cast across, I had one break my line on a grape Carolina rigged worm. Five casts later I landed a 8lb largemouth with my previously lost worm still hooked in his mouth. He must have been starving!
  13. Hey guys, I'm in Effingham, IL. I fish Sara, Pauline, Newton, Rend, LOE, Forbes, Carlyle and Grassy. I started out bassin ( and I was good), then life and the military happened and I quit. After decades, I started cat fishing, then I started crappie fishing. Now I'm back to bass fishing( and I suck). I have a fishing pontoon(my wife's idea) and a JK Big Rig. I started researching bass fishing and it kept bringing me to this site. Loads of great info here...thanks.
