What are you guys throwing at those lethargic bass? The lakes aren't even up to 50 degrees here in iowa and I've been throwing mainly drop shots, jigs and jerk baits. I did catch one on a bladed jig just rolling it over the grass today. So what are you guys catching them with?

Anything crawfish colored...ratltrap,crank bait, etc...

I was throwing a red eye shad and rattletrap and couldn't find a bite today with a lipless. 

Got skunked fishing 4-5 hours over last two days, mostly mid-day to afternoon.

threw everything and got nothing. Almost decided to take up golf again.  Very frustrated, but raining now and cold front moved in so maybe that slowed things down.

Caught 3 in 15 min. on a watermelon red trick worm.

Texas Rig, RattleTrap, Jerkbait all caught fish for me today

I did catch a few on shakey head with a trick worm. I've just been catching lots of small bass lately.  Haven't found momma and grandma yet. 

Strike king 6xd red craw, blue gizzard and green gizzard colors. Red was better here in Az around january when water was below 50s now its up in 60s and the blue gizzard and green have been alot better. Caught one flippping in reeds and also caught 2 on chartreuse black back squarebill. Water is stained to muddy all the time. 

It's been pretty tough, but I did catch a couple 2lbs-ers yesterday. Good old Texas rig with a 6" finesse ox blood. I think the brass and glass helped. Caught a few last week on a jerk bait.

Heading to the Stick Marsh today for another 3 days on the water (third this year).

I can only imagine the bait of choice will be a stick bait of some brand (as always) Senko, Bass Pro or

anything else with that type of design and action. Spinner baits, Swim Baits, and lipless crank baits account for some but by far the Texas, Carolina, and weightless stick bait account for the lion share.

Will give a fishing report with pics( 5 lb or better) when I return.

The bass at the most active lake I fish right now due to weather won't eat a work right now unless it's on a shakey head just sitting. These bass are being divas right now. I just want to start throwing frogs over the matted grass. They go crazy for a frog! I want to pick up a few life target bluegills soon. 

dont get discouraged.

late winter can be/is perplexing. then BOOM, they're everywhere. i like afternoons better than mornings this time of year. sun soaked banks/pockets close to deeper water can be effective. if rocks or stumps are present, work them slowy. dont forget docks and ramps, laydowns too. warming trends are key. patience and persistence can payoff. keep after them!

earlier last week  i was doing decent with a jig and  a craw trailer but that died down and went to a weightless fluke to get some dinks.

1/4 lipless, wacky rig, Shad rap, and oddly enough I was getting them waking a weightless 4" swing impact around dead pads from last year

Since its warmed up I've been catching them on skinny dippers and swim jigs . Trap and crank bites have slowed up around my parts . Plastics will rule soon

Today nothing. A couple of days ago the bass were hitting a white and chart. spinnerbait.

I've been getting about a fish every half hour at one of the local reservoirs, all on a drop shot, using pretty much any green plastic with some flake in the 4-5" size.  They're not shallow, and, I had to let that bait just sit out there for a while before getting a bite.  Very rarely did the bite come fast.  I did grab one in the 5.5-5.75 lbs range (I use a BogaGrip so no digital scale).

In GA I have been catching them on crayfish color lipless

Man I wish I lived wear the water is warm and they're starting to get on beds. Here in Iowa we have a chance for snow this Saturday!

Caught em today on black and blue chatter bait. Water muddy and 54 degrees.

Try a jerkbait if the water is clear, and the ned rig specializes in poor conditions, it is my best cold water and cold front bait.  I have caught bass on the trd in water as cold as 36 degrees, and a lot of them.
