  1. The only thing that spins on mine is the tail. Not sure I understand your problem, if the lure is rotating as you retrieve I am guessing the tail is binding and not spinning.
  2. Personally I use a Jig and trailer for a horizontal presentation around docks, ledges, Rocky banks light cover. When fishing in heavy cover, vegetation, tree tops, bushes I use a Texas rig for a vertical presentation.
  3. Maybe your fish is in early stages yet, I really do not know but yes they are very similar.
  4. These pictures are from 2018. VERY similar and believed to be from handling while hook removal slim coat was removed and infection is setting in. Or possible Lamprey eel as they try and get under the gill plate.
  5. You made the right call getting off that boat! I would not be in a club that allowed drinking during the event. And I think most here would agree.
  6. Carolina or Texas rig.
  7. Don't worry about fishing behind someone.

We once again hired our favorite Captain and crew for 3, 10 hour days of "Bill Fishing" and again they did not disappoint! They picked us up and returned us @ the resort pier. Day one seemed to be a "warm up" day where my wife Jane caught her personnel best Ahi Tuna (Yellowfin) and several Mahi which we brought back to the resort for our dinning. On day 2 we fished a 700 ft ledge just a few miles off the Cancun beach where we found an abundance of sea life and we knew this was the spot. In short order we were hooked up with more Ahi and Mahi, then it happened, White Marlin crashed the shotgun line and the fight was on. We got it to the boat in about 25 minutes grabbed a quick photo and released it unharmed. Day 3, was a little more exciting as a Blue Marlin came into our bait spread in search of a meal. It finally decided on the left rigger bait as the captain dropped the bait back and fed it to him, "Fights On" This fish was no joke in comparison to its cousin the White Marlin. It put on a GREAT aerial display and just would not give up even after having the 30 foot leader on the reel 16 times and backing down on it 3 times. Finally after 65 minutes of give and take, it just about fought itself to death, we were able to get it onboard for a photo shot and then return it to the Sea where we spent 10 minutes pulling it by hand to keep water rushing over it's gills to revive it which was accomplished and it swam away with nothing more than it's feelings hurt. I spent the next day eating Tylenol and hanging around the pool and A/C.

  17. This past week, 17-year-old Eric Beasley of Canton, Ga. passed away in a boat accident on Lake Hartwell. The accident happened in the afternoon when the angler’s bass boat and a cabin cruiser collided. According to official reports from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), officers quickly arrived on scene near Carters Ferry Boat Ramp to find Beasley, the lone occupant of the bass boat, deceased. The cabin cruiser was occupied by six individuals and two of them were injured. Their names have not been released and their injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Authorities are not sure of the circumstances surrounding this collision and it’s currently an active investigation. It may take up to eight weeks for their findings to be released. According to multiple accounts within the fishing industry, Beasley was a promising young talent and quite the angler who was gaining a lot of attention in the bass fishing world. We’ve heard multiple stories of his enthusiasm, his work ethic and desire to learn everything he could about bass fishing.
  18. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) announces they have located the body of a missing angler. According to an official press release, an unoccupied bass boat was discovered on popular Kentucky Lake on Sunday, May 22. The boat was owned by 60-year-old Daniel E. Keeling from Humboldt, Tenn. and was found in the West Sandy area of the lake. After a several hours of a long search in the vicinity, the body was found by authorities. The man was not wearing a life jacket.
  19. Bass fishing legend and pioneer Ray Scott passed away late Sunday night. He died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. If you’ve fished or followed bass fishing tournaments, you’ve likely heard of Scott and his wonderful and groundbreaking work in the industry. In 1968 he founded the popular Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) which quickly grew and became the standard for bass fishing tournaments. These events became integral to the fishing industry as the participants were able to promote baits, boats, motors, electronics and the like. In 1972, he also required all competitors’ boats have aerated livewells to keep bass alive.
