ROD SOCKS
I use these rod socks, I think that they will work great for your situation. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_21141_100004001_100000000_100004000_100-4-1 These work better with longer rods though, http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20325&id=0037306120696a&navCount=4&podId=0037306&parentId=cat20325&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20325&hasJS=true

Gami ewg's are the only hooks I will ever use for my plastics.

Oxblood california 420 waterbug

T-rigged senkos
Instead of using an regular offset hook, try this hook http://www.***.com/descpage-GFWH.html I think this gives the senko that wigling action that the bass really love.

hollow bodied frogs
A tip that always helped me is to wait until you can't see you frog before you swing.

SKUNKED!
Getting skunked is a part of fishing and it happens to everyone. The way I think about it is that if i'm out fishing then I am doing something I love to do and nothing can ruin that day.

best thick mat lure
I like to use a reaction innovations sweet beaver in either the smallie or regular version. It slides through the vegetation very well with a big flippin weight pegged on the line.

Biggest bass
10lb 1oz for me.

When you are sold a new boat in California
I bought my boat from a dealer in northern california about 4 years ago,and I did not recieve anything like that. Your dealer might be different though.

Flipping reel questions
Definately go for the Castaic if you can. It's made for flippin. I have four of them and I love them.

Predict your 07' hawg......
I'm hoping for a teen fish ;D, but I'll be happy with anything over 8.
-
Have you got your 07' fishing license yet ?
Hey Chris I'm just glad that some of the money we spend on licences in California goes to trout planting.(a.k.a. bass bait) ;D ;D ;D

just beginnig
You might want to try to get a float tube or a kickboat if the lakes around you allow. They are a great way to learn how to fish slow and aren't very expensive compared to a boat.

New weight guess thread
I'll say 6lbs 4oz

What bait do you use most often?
snagproof frogs
-
braid and line visibility
I know they can see the line, but most of the lures that I use with braid are reaction baits such as crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jerkbaits. So what I am trying to say is if you fish braid with baits bass react to they don't really think about anything else they just react.

What have you done to get a lure back?
In my local tackle store I overheard these guys talking about how one of them brings scuba gear whenever he's swimbait fishing, and when they would get their bait stuck they would just dive in. I guess if you had access to some scuba gear it might be a good idea. :-? :-?
