  1. Yeh i was maybe thinking of adding a small split-shot weight right above the hook eye where the skirt is, it would probably be hidden by the skirt and would fall at my desired speed...anyone tried this?
  2. I agree....* has great customer service, and great baits..you should checkout the thread here http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1176482675
  3. For everyone out there using Ika's for smallies I had a few quick questions. If you guys are fishing in 10-15 feet of water or deeper are you still throwing them? it seems like it would take a while for them to get in the strike zone, as opposed to a tube on a jig head...besides the 5/0 ewg gammy hook on it, you think this could be rigged differently to get in the strike zone faster? Thanks -WM :
  4. Im actually not too sure, ill ask my dad later on today...ill post what he says.
  5. I also have a trip heres cheduled for Wensday ..me and my dad are going out with a guide. He said hes been killing them around there lately getting the big pre-spawn females weighing anywhere from 2-5 pounds. Those are some killer smallies! Ill let you know how I did and post an outing report -WM GL
  6. Replacing hooks on LC lures is actually maybe a little extreme. They come great out of the box for me, I have never lost a fish or had one shake free, once hooked into a LC lure. But if you feel more confident replacing hooks, I would go with Gammy' impo. hope this helps -WM
  7. Matt, you should be fine with the 40 strand skirt. As far as density i would just worry about size 3/8 ounce, 1/2 ounce etc...and if you need a slower fall, add a bulkier trailer -WM
  8. Are you sure your not making the gut bigger on those fish? After all, i could make a 5lb bass in photoshop turn out to be a monster...actually i think they do this in Bassmaster a lot. If anyone has the lastest issue of BassMaster, look at the bass Shaw Grisby is holding in the article about "Redefined Drop Shotting" looks totally fake. As far as Fish Chris photocropping his Bass i was only kidding lol..thanks for sharing
  9. If your water is clear I would go with "Natural Colors" in al 3 of those. If your water is murky i would opt for the opposite meaning more brighter colors and black. We often times put too much emphasis on color, just get out there and start experimenting. -WM

LOL @ that.. Well we all have our opinions etc, pros use scent and they catch fish, I had a 1on1 conversation with Greg Hackney about it at the fishing expo in Tamonium. He reccomends it, although he did not tell me what type he uses, its probably megastrike or carolina lunker sauce -WM

Whats a bottle of scent maybe 5-6 dollars? How you come to that conclusion absolutly boggles my mind. Yes it probably is more of a confidence thing if anyhting but its proven that bass will strike lure smore often than unscented lures. But than again of course, you wouldnt want to waste your money, save up, maybe you can buy some confidence. :) Just my thoughts -WM Spray on scents, from my experience, are a waste of money. Add to the fact that there are so many differing opinions on whether it works or not should make you suspicious. Nearly everyone on these boards will tell you senkos work, trick worms work, etc, so you can assume, they probably do. Spray on scents are not so universally accepted. Some people like them, some don't. See where I'm going with this? And it's a confidence thing only if you blindly believe that those spray ons actually work. If you think you are spraying your bait with something that isn't effective, then you gain nothing mentally from it. I was tlaking about scent in general not just spray on scents...

I would check these threads out first before buying any YUM scent. YUM makes good baits, but i dont think their scent is even close to the quality of their baits, and it looks too liquidy, not thick enogh. Check these threads out first before purchasing. Good Luck and Tight lines. -WM
  14. Can anyone post a link to the sweatshirt I cant find it?
  15. Cabellas and Bass Pro probably.. Why not just get them at Dicks?
  16. When Iaconelli won the Bassmaster classic in 2003 he was fishing on the Louisiana Delta which I remember him stating in his book was muddy and murky water. Iaconelli searched on aerial photo maps and found a spot he called "The heart" which was a 5 acre spot somewhere on the delta where water passed through that held superclear water. He stated that on the aerial photos it was also black as opposed to the lighter blue the rest of the delta was. He said he knew the fish would be here and it held an insane ammount of baitfish "mullet" that would jump out of the air. Also while reading an In-Fisherman book on Largemouth bass it stated that if a resovir is murky look for the clearest water available. My question is this: Why did Iaconelli look for clear water? And how did he know the fish would be there? Why was the prey so abundent in this 5 acre spot of clear water? I know that bass are visual hunters and rely on sight as their primary sense for hunting...also i know that the strike zone is bigger in clearer water, but why were the fish so abundant in this specific location with the clearer water...I remember him saying him and his uncle caught around 17lbs of fish limit each in 45 mins, thats not including all the smaller fish he culled out. Feedback greatly appreciated. -WM
  17. Fluke, I also just picked a few bags up from Dick's. Are you guys skipping theese baits under docks? Hangovers? Or what Also do you think skipping baits with theese hooks will work with a weight on the front like a split shot of medium sized?
  18. different scents last longer than others...some are sticky, some arent as sticky, depending on the scent is how i make my decesion as far as how often i am applying...of course it wouldnt be too wise to add scent to every cast, because of wasted time applying the scent instead of lines in the water... Try this. If you catch a bass with scent, and than take 6 more casts without a strike or another fish, I would add more scent. -WM

  23. For all of you who buy/sell on ebay. I have a question about when selling an item how to put html and pics in your item description. I know it only allows you to have 4 pics but i heard there is a program out there that lets u have like more pics by putting in html in your auction.. one example of this is this item link...http://cgi.ebay.com/St-Croix-Tidemaster-1-pce-Casting-Rod-7-TIC70HF-New_W0QQitemZ150108769547QQihZ005QQcategoryZ36168QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem But some auctions ive seen like 10+ or more pictures...how do you do this? thanks -WM
