  1. My new setup. Shimano 15' Met DC along with a St. Croix 6'10" Legend Glass. I haven't had time to try it out yet, probably this weekend. @Cheesefrank@blckshirt98 @Bluebasser86 @Robert Riley
  2. Try out Gliss. I put it on my spinning reel and it cast very well, better than the braid that was on there. And it doesn't sound like it's "sawing" your eyelets either.
  3. I did just that lol. I'll have it Tuesday.
  4. I have the Daiwa steez sv tws, very lite and good casting reel. Takes little effort to cast. Very few backlashes. The only time I really get a backlash is using smaller braid and it digs.
  5. I was looking at buying one of these rods, the 6'10" medium. Does anybody have experience with these? Regards
  6. @Goose52 So which one do you prefer? The DC or the MGL?
  7. Militec Synthetic Grease and Boca Lightning oil or hot sauce..
  8. I've been looking at a Kayak. I'll probably be getting one soon.
  9. The rod is a MH 7'. It doesn't say, Moderate action or fast, but in the Okuma catalog, it's listed as a crankbait rod. So I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the feedback.
  10. Just wanted to see if I'm missing anything. As of right now, i have 4 setups. I have my Steez mounted on a BPS Titanium 6'8" medium, fast action rod for lite setups. I have my "forbidden to talk about reel" mounted on a 7' MH Okuma EVX rod for medium setups. My Lew's SD WS mounted on a Powell 7'10" H for swimbaits and such. And my Lew's Spinning on a Powell 7' M for finesse. I don't want too many rods/reels as i don't own a boat "yet". Any other suggestions?
  11. Im looking for a 105 or 110mm swept handle for my Steez. Right now I have a 110mm Avail straight handle on it. Any suggestions?
  12. @Delaware Valley Tackle I have a Lew's Spinning Reel. And I want to replace the handle knob bushings with bearings. Does anyone know what size these are? Regards
  13. what parts? Probably the handle, star drag.
  14. @Hot Rod JohnsonThis might be my next reel. The new Lew's Mach Speed Spool looks like a nice choice for 99.00. 11 bearing system, MCS.
  15. I don't see a lot of talk about these reels. Any feed back on these? I was looking at the Concept "C". How good are these reels?
  16. I'm not saying it's not true, but for me, this would have to be I'd have to see it to believe it.
  17. I took it back to my local tackle shop and they replaced it. He told me it shouldn't have broke the way I picked up the fish. So I'm happy about that. I ended up going with an Okuma EVX.
  18. I have a Powell Max3D 6'10" Medium Mod-Fast rod. And today when I was fishing, I hooked a nice 4lb bass. I was on the bank with a slight edge, about 2-3'. I lifted the bass up and my rod shattered in between the first and second eyelet closest to the reel. Should this have happened? I picked up the rod about 6" past the reel.
  19. Caught a couple of nice LMB. Both on a chatterbait. The smaller of the two had a crawdad in its mouth.
  20. I caught a 8-9lb LM on a 7' Berkley Lightning Spinning rod with a Shimano Syncopate with 15lb braid and a super spook jr.
  21. Can you explain why you're not a fan of the MGL?
  22. I seen one for 312 online today.
  23. The only person who would actually know is someone who owns all 3. The rest of the replies are just opinions.
  24. I think it's whatever your preference is. When i started bass fishing back in 96, i just used a syncopate and a berkley rod. The setup probably cost me 35-40.00. And I caught a lot of fish on it. MY PB of around 9lbs came off of that. Now that I have a nice job with some extra cash, I buy some of the better setups. But will it make me catch more fish? OFC not, learning how to fish does that for you. The higher end stuff is just for enjoyment.
