Sounds like gears to me also. Wouldn't be surprised if the gears were dry. I've had a few like that, and they were new also.

People talk about different forms, either poor form or correct. Not everyone is the same. People cast different, we're not robotic. Just like QB's throw different from each other, batters hit different, it depends on the person.

TW started carrying Yo-Zuri T-7 premium. It's a good flouro.. You also have the option of using braid with a flouro leader..

This rod seems heavy and tip heavy. Even with my SV103HL , it's still tip heavy. Is 4.8oz "normal" for this size of a rod?

No, they are not micros.

I agree, 2 brakes on, 2 off and adjust the spool tension.

I seen a lot of good reviews for the Phenix Feather. I might give that one a try.

I was looking at the Big Bear 7'3"HF 1/2-2oz and the Phenix Feather 7'1"HF 1/4-2oz. Close to the same price. It will double as a heavy bass rod and striper fishing with cut bait. Which would you choose?

I have a Pflueger Supreme XT and had wind knots in the past. I turned to Berkley Ultra 8 because it was stiffer and I never had a wind knot with it. With Gliss and PP, I've had wind knots, probably something on my part.

Could this be eliminated by using swivels, instead of tying directly to the lure?

Maybe try cals grease. It worked for me, but I can't promise it will work for you.

What grease are you using on the gears? I had the same problem but when I switched grease to cals grease, the geary feeling went away...
