  1. No. I don't eat anything that comes from the canals and the delta where i live. But even If i could, i wouldn't. Always catch and release. But there might come a day where i will need to.
  2. I throw neds on my Pflueger Supreme XT on a Zodias 7'M rod. 15lb braid and leader if need be.
  3. Went striper fishing today, ended up catching one of these. First time seeing a flounder in person.
  4. Bassfishingaddiction did my steez, but their site is down now.
  5. Early morning on the Delta.
  6. I've heard a lot of good things about the Lew's Tournament Pro LFS.
  7. Yes it is, I agree.
  8. I found on my Antares 70, that it takes a little more pull to get the drag working because of the click drag system. I ended up taking the spring and ball out, now my drag is a lot smoother and the pull to take drag is even. For anyone that is interested. ?
  9. Just as jimmyjoe said, the line goes above that bar, not below it.
  10. The MGL 50 holds only 75 yards. But still, that's a lot of line.
  11. I watched the same video yesterday. They're basically the same price on japanlure. The Alderbaran does have a smaller spool. But I'd still go with the newer reel.
  12. Contact fedex on facebook, they will respond. This was the only way i got a hold of them. I had a package that was 11 days late and they finally worked it out.
  13. Yes, i just found those. I will try these out thanks.
  14. I fish the Sacramento River from the bank. It's tidal. On out going tide, i'm throwing a 2oz sinker, but still being pulled towards the shore. What's the best sinker for these types of waters? I'm using a bullet weight in a t-rig type of setup.
  15. I agree. The side plate can be a pain to get off and on, especially if your fingers or reel are wet. The Antares 70A if by far the best reel I've ever owned. The braking system is top notch.
  16. Even when i use this, i also use my finger while reeling and guide the line eveningly side to side.
  17. I'll be using it more for bottom contact. Jigs/worms and such. So i'll be going with the Shimano 7'2" ML+
  18. Thanks everyone. I'll be going with the Expride then. I love my Zodias, but want to try an Expride.
  19. Maybe dual hook keepers just for your dropshot?
  20. But still, even if it wasn't rolled, the bat still breaks in. A fish bending a rod manipulates the rod also and fighting bigger fish even more so. I'm not saying a composite rod needs or even breaks in, just throwing out some thoughts.
  21. In all fairness, composite bats break in. You can have your composite bats "rolled" to break it in faster, in some leagues it's not allowed.
  22. I had a Dobyns Champion XP 702 casting rod that I sent back to TW because the rod was spinning in cork. It was under a warranty. I was thinking about getting a Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+ as a replacement. They are about the same price, 20.00 more for the Shimano. Do you think the Expride is a better rod?
  23. I use the Alchemy Ultra Light Oil. Maybe i need to use it more frequent because it is ultra light?
  24. How often do you oil your reel bearings? I know this a broad question and how much use of the reel. I go out about 2x a week and fish for a few hours.
