I fish between two and seven days a week, usually averaging out at about five days a week. I've never counted, but my most consecutive days with time on the water is very roughly 40-50. When I say time on the water, it doesn't mean that I was able to fish all day. Often I can only get out for a couple hours.

Yeah, I had some pretty bad bombs, especially at Okeechobee.. Still got 16th in the group I think, and I was in the upper 80s percentile in the first account before I forgot that password. Don't know what my percentile ended up being, if you add up all the scores from various accounts.

Try using a light braid (something in the 8 pound range), with or without a leader. Far better than flouro or mono for ned rigs IMO.

You're jerking it to hard and/or fast. Try slowing down.

Maybe that's my problem, can't get the lead as hot when melting on a stove.

I have both the Midwest finesse mold that pours the jig in your pic, and the worm nose jig mold. While I do prefer the jigs the mwf mold pours, that thing takes like 15 minutes per jighead to get a complete pour, because of the narrower cavity and wire keeper. It keeps coming out incomplete, while the worm nose works every time. Have you found a way to get consistently complete pours out of your mold?

Pour your own using the do-it mushroom head mold, buy the finesse shroomzs, or find someone that pours there own and buy from them.

I like both the fat keitechs and the rage menace grubs as trailers, and if I'm fishing clear water a 4" curly tail can be good to. Your setup should be fine, unless your around heavy cover. I don't have a rod for them, so I just throw it on my multi purpose moving bait rod (6'6" mod-fast, fishes between a medium and medium heavy) spooled with 15 pound mono. A longer rod like the one you have would be helpful I think though, unless target casting.

No down sides here, it's just another tool like any other rig. How are you setting the hook, and what rod/line/hooks are you using? Simply reeling quickly into the fish works better than using a traditional hook set with the tiny hooks.

Mono is pretty much neutrally buoyant... And the only reason flouro is sometimes considered "more sensitive" is because it sinks, so it tends to have a more direct line of contact between the rod and lure. That is not an issue with large swim baits that are usually retrieved somewhat steadily, so mono would be just as sensitive.

Try to get them back in the water as fast as you can, but most studies indicate that it often takes 10+ minutes to build up dangerous levels of CO2 and ph in the blood.

If a rod fails after three years, it is not the manufacturer's fault. If it doesn't break after the first couple decent bass, then there are no defects. Anything that happens after that means that it was damaged at some point, with or without you realizing it.

I'll tell anyone who wants to know anything they want about a good shoreline pattern that I'm on (outside of tournaments), that stuff comes and goes by the day. The one thing that I will not share with anybody, at all, is an offshore spot. That stuff stays the same forever, and holds fish year round. The only person who I would show an offshore spot to is the guy who showed me some of his offshore spots.

Don't sweat it. I keep a few smaller bass regularly for an elderly neighbor, selective harvest is proven to be a good thing for the lake. Even if you removed 200 bass from an average lake, that would still just be a drop in the bucket and probably wouldn't impact fishing at all. Catch mortality is scarily high during the summer anyways.. Oh, and I've actually caught a lot of one eyed bass that seemed to be very healthy (see pic of ajay's 7.29 pound pig of a one eyed smallie), one actually looked like it was born with only one eye. Didn't have an eye socket or anything. BTW, does anyone have any idea how many catchable sized bass would live in your average 350 acre lake? Just curious to compare that number with the number I've caught this year.

I know a kid who's really just starting to seriously get into fishing, and I'm trying to help him find a decent spinning rod to be used for frogs. I have a fury for my frogging, but he's not super comfortable fishing baitcasters so he's sticking with spinning for now. Budget is about 60-70$, looking for one with a lite tip but a hard backbone. He will mostly be throwing 1/4 ounce pad crasher juniors, mostly around docks and not a lot of heavy cover, so no broom sticks and a softer tip than would normally be wanted for frogs.

They are most people's favorite buzzbait, at least on these forums. They are a close second for me, right behind accents finesse game changer.

I was launching our boat by the time I was twelve, never had any issues with the DNR. Heck, by the time I was 14 I drove the boat more than my dad. BTW, the DNR does not consider anything less than a 10 HP motor an actual motorized watercraft, so a 9.9 can legally be run by any age. You can also take a boaters safety coarse at either 14 or 15 (can't remember which), and that combined with a state id makes it legal ro drive any boat.

What rod and line were you using with the shroomzs, and also how did you set the hook?

Cavitrons are good buzzbaits, you will be very pleased with them. I like to crimp the rivet (to prevent it from turning, so that it's louder) and rough the rivet up with wire paper or something to make it noisier.
