  1. A t-rigged creature or grub in any dark color.
  2. Who cares? Better than any fish I've ever caught (or will catch) around here. Congrats!
  3. I saved a smallie last week using the through the gill technique shown here. . . http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1128002349/22#22
  4. Neat concept but at 65-85 lbs it's hefty for roof top and looks like it paddles like a bath tub. Maybe for small, calm water but as an all around fishing kayak I would have a lot of reservations just based on it's specs and appearance. I'd be interested to hear some first hand info on it just out of curiosity but either way I'll stick with my Dirigo.
  5. Hey KlubbaT, welcome aboard!
  6. Kobe is the Jordan of today but he ain't Jordan by a friggin long shot. I'm a transplanted NY fan and will wear my Yankee's hat anywhere but being surrounded by Beantown fans grows on you. They are the most loyal followers of their teams in the nation IMO. Go Celtics!
  7. could not say it better myself X3. I go out with two rods in the kayak and one always has a plastic on it. The other is usually a jig...with a plastic trailer.
  8. For flavor the following: Sam Adams original, Octoberfest and Black lager Otter Creek...all of them (VT micro brew) Anchor Steam But on a hot, hot day, ice cold Bud Light.
  9. Great trailer on a 1/4 oz jig. Right up there with the Flappin' Hog IMO.
  10. That rock looks awful familiar...
  11. I've got two flush mount behind me and am going to add a Scotty on the dash to more quickly free up the hands when I've got to paddle. I would say at least two and definitely agree with the comment above to keep it simple. It's easy to overboard rigging a kayak but there are a lot of things you can do to make yourself more efficient and your time on the water more about the fishing. Check out: http://kayakfishingstuff.com/
  12. IMO you can't go wrong with jigs and dark plastics up here.

As much as it stinks to see a nice guy leave I've got to respect the job the mods do on this site. I used to belong to another forum that had one ridiculously outspoken member who was not reeled in until he went over the top revealing his bigotry with post after post of thinly veiled racism. The site took WAY too long to address the situation and lost a lot of good people. I'm certainly NOT saying that this is ANYTHING like that situation but without checks and balances anything can happen.
  14. "what can a bass tell you????" It would be nice if they'd tell me what I've been doing wrong all these years.

Nice looking pike! He must have put up a good fight.
  16. I've been working in restaurants for 20 years so I can relate to those behind the counter but from the perspective of a customer, which I frequently am, the expectation is that it will be done correctly. If I am going to give you my money for a product or service that you are advertising it has to be right. Period. You're not going to let me get out the door having only paid half my bill so I expect that I'm not going to get half@ssed service. If I do, you don't see me again. As the GM of a national chain restaurant I have to take this approach. No excuses will keep my potential customers from taking their business to the guy next door if he'll do it better than I will. People in fast food chains work hard, no doubt about it. Underpaid, underappreciated and frequently the place where people ticked off about something else in their lives vent their frustrations. Fair? No. But if you want a job where you don't have to take crap from people because you didn't give them enough hot sauce, STAY IN SCHOOL AND GET A BETTER JOB!
  17. Great show. I DVR'd every episode last season and am waiting for new ones. What a job. The pay off is incredible but you're literally taking your life in your own hands and putting it in the hands of others. It would be the experience of a lifetime though.

Bob Seger: "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Roger Waters: "And then one day you find, 10 years have gotten behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun." Not trying to be philosophical...just two lyrics that I find pretty profound. Oh yeah..."Hang up and drive" One of my favorite bumper stickers.
  19. Rapalas are the most expensive bait I can bring myself to buy. 4 to 10 bucks for most of their offerings at Wally World. I prefer plastics and jigs so having a huge selection of cranks isn't that important to me anyway. I have a couple dozen that do the job when I throw them and I'm sure I'm missing out on something but I'm happy and guilt free...almost. :-X
  20. I have an Old Town Dirigo 140 which is pretty vanilla so far but as you've seen on KFS you can rig a kayak to no end. When it comes to choosing a boat it really comes down to where you'll be fishing more than anything else IMO. SOT users swear by them and SIK owners do the same but SOT seems to be the choice of most fishermen. It's a debate with no right answer. A lot of kayak fishermen also seem to prefer shorter boats but I like the added length for better tracking which equals less paddling/correcting on bigger water and on windy days. It's never been a hindrance or limited me as to where I can fish and has in fact made it easier for me to cover more water and find more secluded spots. Looking at the launch 1000 yards away at the end of a 8 hour outing with the wind in my face was what really convinced me that I made the right decision by going with a longer boat. I could go on about how I made my choice but I'll spare you. I would recommend doing a bit of research and paddling different styles and lengths if you can before buying. You can modify it how you like once you've got the platform you're comfortable in. Good luck and I would definitely spend some more time reading up on your options at KFS. Great site with tons of info and good people who are more than happy to give you their .02
  21. That would be a crying shame. :'(
  22. yea and your a Yankee fan too ;D Doesn't get much worse, does it!!!! Not feeling the love. ;D I actually like my job but as a few people said, it's other people that screw it up by not doing their job. Plus they give me crap for being a Yankee fan. Being a CT boy who moved to NH I never realized until I got up here how much bitterness the fans of, how shall we say...historically less successful teams, foster towards me and my kind. I never played that game and I still don't cause good ball is good ball but when they try to push my buttons I get to remind them that I'm the boss. ...sorry for the mini hijack. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
  23. Same here. I saw them on their And Justice For All tour. Sound system was terrible (proof that they hadn't sold out yet) and chunky teenage girls in lingerie outnumbered the headbangers at least 3 to 1 but they were great. I wonder what a crowd looks like these days?
  24. Yep. I think it was the video of "One" that started them down the path. I do like Turn The Page and Nothing Else Matters but everything else was a HUGE disappointment. This sell out was not as bad or unexpected as The Stones selling out to Cadillac and Dennis Hopper (I don't understand?) plugging some financial planning outfit but I digress... :'(
