What is your kind of music?
Lemme find out Grimlin. I've been listening to the old Pete Rock and CL Smooth album recently, and Just picked up the Petestrumentals CD. Good stuff. Also Check out Guru's Jazzmatazz vol. 1-4 8-) If you like old hip hop check out rakim and eric b. paid in full and follow the leader albums are my personal favorites. just recently got into reggae, baby cham hit song on the airwave "ghetto story" was on repeat for me...lol Daimen marley Got some awesome songs from what i've heard from him. +1 Paid in Full is a good one. For other true old school rap don't forget Run DMC, BDP, Public Enemy, Slick Rick etc... Old school gangsta rap though? Sounds like an oxymoron to me. I can't believe that I'm so old that the early/mid 90's are considered "old school" :-/

That's what I'm talking about.

How many in a good day?
Two or three per hour is a good outing for me but how good a day it is is better measured by the time between bites. The longer the dry spells the fewer I need to catch to feel like a winner. After a few hours of hauling h20 one dink makes it all worth it. ;D

Shaq's monthly expenses.
No matter how much we make we tend to live beyond our means. I wonder if Shaq fishes. The bait monkey would probably rank right up there with his dry cleaning.

Whats your worst part of bass fishing
I voted not catching but even a skunking beats mowing the lawn/shoveling snow/root canal/sharp stick in the eye etc.
-
Fess up, your smallest fish last year...
Mine was the smallie in my avatar. 7oz if I recall. I suck, gotta work harder to catch the true dinks :'( ;D

What's you favorite
Definitely the hookset, espcially when it follows a top water strike.

Strangest Things Used
20 or so feet of line wrapped around an old soda can with Now and Later candy on the hook would catch bluegills, carp and even crawfish in a nasty, polluted river I fished as a kid. I remember kids in my class telling me I was full of it when I told them about the foot long goldfish in the Mill River. None of the cowards ever came along to watch me prove it. ;D

What makes a good fishing partner?
Someone who doesn't whine and moan when you're catching and they're not. My brother does this and there have been several times where I've found myself hoping that he'll catch something before I hook another one. I haven't avoided any outings with him because of it but it's always in the back of my mind when we head out.

Cranks or Soft plastics
Nothing gets me smallies like plastics. Tubes, senkos and grubs. Cranks were so-so for me last season, even for largemouth, but I fished jigs more often than not.

caught another 4 pounda *pics*
I like very much. Congrats on a great fish! <<<<<< We've got a little thawing out to do before I can even hope to match this guy! :'(

favorite time to fish...
Nice job man. Any bite on a day like that is a good one.

New to the boards.....
Hi Josh! The first step is admitting you have a problem.

The fish I almost lost, at night.
why do people always pull this crap? nobody asked you how big you thought it was. if you don't think its as big as someone says it is, then don't say anything! very nice fish dude! Yes, nice fish man!

Trying a new jig, which of these 2 you suggest?
The 1/4oz bitsy bugs work for me

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Hey guys, long time. I'm wondering if anyone has any input on Thorndike Pond in Jaffrey? A co-worker had a blast there a week or so ago; lots of smallies and I'm thinking of heading there next week. If anyone is familiar with it I'd appreciate some insight into when and where to fish it as well as bait recommendations. I figure I can't go wrong with Ikas and senkos but I've had very little luck with hard baits other than jigs this year and I'd like to mix it up if at all possible. Thanks and I'm glad to see the NH guys are still out there catching!

My FIRST Jig fish :)
Nice fish dude! Congrats on the PB.

Looking for a good fishing kayak
I fish in a 14' Old Town Dirigo and highly recommend it. There are tons of pros and cons but one big pro for me of a sit in boat is that you don't end up sitting in water which makes a huge difference here in NH during spring and fall when the water is chilly.

Matching trailer to skirt?
A question for those more experienced jig fishermen: How important is it to match the trailer to the skirt? I've recently started having some luck with jigs to the point that it's the first lure I tie on every time I go out. I've matched the trailer to the skirt in the belief that it's key to getting fish to bite but on my last outing I ran out of blue/black craw trailers and had recently gotten my only green/red jig snagged and lost so I used a green pumpkin w/red flake Flappin' Hog on a blue/black jig and had as many, if not more, bites as when I've done a better job of matching colors. I may have answered my own question but I'll still take any input I can get from those in the know.

Lures on ebay not as posted???
That's why I don't share my lure purchases with my wife. I don't know what would be worse: her auctioning off all the bait monkey's hard work or some poor soul getting the wrong lure. Seriously man, that stinks. I've bought a number of lures off e-bay and have been fortunate enough to get what I've expected. Hopefully you can work it out with the seller.

decent day
Nice fish and that looks like a nice spot. Whereabouts in CT do you hail from? I grew up there but moved about 10 years ago. Never fished for bass while I lived there but caught a mess of snappers in the Sound as a kid.

Son's first bass
The Mrs. was out with a friend and my daughter was at a birthday party so my son and I went out in the canoe for a couple of hours this evening hoping to catch a few fish. He's a pro at catching blue gills on crawlers but today I was able to convince him that he needed to try some of daddy's plastic worms so he could catch "big" fish. He and his Spider Man pole had quite a few bites with a senko tied on and after losing three good bites (one made it all the way to the canoe before shaking lose) he landed his first bass! The look on his face was priceless. I also had continued success on a jig which has recently become my favorite lure. What an awesome day! His first bass 2.5lb'er on blue/black jig w/ GYCB Flappin Hog
