  1. Guys n gals, the directions I gave y'all early in this thread are to the Rocky Point Ramp. Good map, by the way. This is, IMHO, the better of the two ramps and would be less gravel road travel. If anyone else is staying in Pittsburg Friday evening, there is a 'sports' bar down town in the 500 block of North Broadway called JB's Sports Bar and Grill. Cold beer and decent food. It would be a good place to meet. PM me if you want.
  2. penquin, if your from Park City, why do you fish the pits over here so much? I know they're good but that's a long drive.
  3. Welcome to the forum. La Cygne this time of the year on a nice day will be packed, cabin feaver sets in for everyone. Spooks, pop-r's, chrome traps, white spinner baits on the north end of the lake. If you go south the water will be a lot colder but there won't be as much (or any) traffic. Rogues, senkos, and flukes down there fished s-l-o-w. And, of course, black n blue jig n pig anywhere. Good Luck!
  4. Welcome to the forum. Be sure to check out Cisco Lake some time. I fished it on Thurs. evening and Friday and had a great time.
  5. Ouch, game on! Hopefully the water will warm up a little by then but you can probably leave the topwater boxes at home.
  6. KU, if it is five hours to Bone Creek, then you must live in Ellsworth or west. ;D I can get to KCI in less than two hours and I live 20 minutes south of Bone Creek. I know the water is going to be cold and am not opposed to putting it off a couple of weeks, but there are fish to be caught and can be, even in cold water. Whatever y,all think, I don.t care. If I'm not in Texas I'll be there.
  7. Never met him, but we've tried, whatever Matt says just do it! Fork can be fun and it can kick your behind. Just do what the locals say, rayburn red traps, red/orange spinner baits, black n blue jig n pig and a swim bait for good measure. Do not get bummed, the next cast may be a sharelunker!

    Welcome aboard!
  9. Glad you had a good trip. I'm going to have to make that extra 8 hour drive (6 hours to Fork for me) one of these days.
  10. I hear ya. Fished west Texas Thursday thru Sunday morning. It was pretty cool but better than here. Was going to fish Fork Sunday thru today but had a death in the family and had to cut it short. Oh well, I'll go back in 3 or 4 weeks.
  11. This Sat. looks like a decent day to check it out. I'll probably give it a shot, but the water is going to be really cold. I fished in west Texas the last few days and the water was between 45 and 53 down there.
  12. I have not heard of him either, but like Matt said, it "don't mean much". Hey RW, I'm heading back down Thursday. Wanna come?
  13. I have to be in Clyde Thursday for a couple of hours of business and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this or any other lake close by. Then Friday I would like to fish somewhere between there and Mineral Wells. Have a small tourney at Mineral Wells on Saturday and have only fished it once, so if you have any tips about this lake, I would appreciate that as well. Thanks
  14. I'm not telling where I put out that stock tank heater this weekend. ;D
  15. Well, Tiger can hit a 235 yard, high cut 4 iron too. ;D Seriously though, I can skip a 5/16th to a 3/4 oz. jig n pig with fairly (emphasize FAIRLY) good success but it takes tons of practice and tons of down time digging out professional over runs. I've had some success with brush hogs, senkos and flukes with baitcasters. Just have to get the drag set right and practice, practice, practice. Also, I use p-line braid on the jigs and p-line flouro on the plastics. Good luck!
  16. Welcome to a forum that has more bass fishing information than bs which is different than most others.
  17. That would be good. Also, if possible, (if it isn't already) can you dlick on a thread and go to the last post that was posted on your last visit instead of going to the beginning of the thread?
  18. What snow? We got no stinkin' snow down here! ;D

Welcome to the forum. Great place to learn and to share.
  20. ugh.....both!
  21. Anyone know anything about this little powerplant lake east of Jacksonville, Tx.? From looking at acmemapper it appears to be very shallow. Any help would be appreciated. ring fry
  22. I'm at work. Got to have something to do inside, becouse it's too cold to do anything outside. Besides that, I'm a wuss!
  23. One week ago today I was fishing Lake Welsh in East Texas. It was 31 degrees with freezing rain all day. It rained about 1 1/2". The fog was so thick I couldn't see to the end of a cast at times. Oh, I was in my Coleman Crawdad with no bilge, so by the end of the day I was standing in 3" of water. Caught a bunch of fish but had to quit about 3:00 PM as I had no feeling in my feet. It took about 45 minutes of driving with the heater on high to finally get feeling back.
  24. yup, great job, much quicker.
