  1. Jerkbaits sound like a good option, i like Rapala shadow rap and X rap in mossback shiner and hot head
  2. Siebert outdoors makes amazing jigs, true works of art. I also like Dave's tournament tackle which I believe is based out of north Carolina, nice spinnerbaits and shaky heads. Deep creek lures makes very nice plastics, I like their finesse and ribbon tail worms, they are based out of Dunn north Carolina. Double d jigs are also very nice, he is located in Edinburgh Virginia. As you can see I like supporting smaller companies.
  3. I live about 20 minutes from Egypt bend. Some of my friends have their own tournaments on Egypt bend, front royal, lake Anna, Shenandoah dam. I like fishing on Egypt bend in the spring with craw colored crank baits and bright colored jerkbaits. In early summer I fish deep diving jerkbaits in the timber and catch some. Never been productive this time of the year. Next time you go, bring a spinning rod that can throw 1/16oz jig heads and Charlie brewer crappie grubs. They catch everything that swims . I floated from Elkton to Shenandoah on Sunday using those grubs and caught over 50 including a 4 pound large mouth. The ramp at Egypt bend is a pain in the butt to load and unload because of how far you have to back in. I haven't done it by myself but I imagine it would be really hard.
  4. Bps crankin stick is a graphite/glass blend and I love mine, they offer lots of models and should have something that fits your needs.
  5. I use 10lb braid mainline with a 6-8lb fluorocarbon leader on a medium light spinning rod for shaky heads under 1/4oz and a medium power casting rod with 10lb fluorocarbon for 5/16 and 3/8oz shaky heads
  6. For grass I like a 4/0 eagle claw lazer sharp flipping hook, for everything else I like a 4/0 gamakatsu EWG
  7. Any member of the pike family will cut braid like nothing. I use sufix seige and have caught pickerel and musky on my pop Max and pop x . The colors I like are white python, black orochi and gg bass
  8. Awesome!!! Congratulations
  9. Way too much. Probably about 800 a year, mostly TW on black Friday and Christmas
  10. I use a yumbrella, a yum tripod and a strike king bladed umbrella rig.
  11. Booyah pad crasher jr
  12. I love both the shadow rap and shadow rap shad, I've caught lots of fish on mine. I have only had one or two Rapala baits break and they were my fault
  13. Rapala F11 or F13, shadow rap shad , X rap 8 all float using mono line
  14. I'm definitely going to pick up a few packs.
  15. Dobyns fury 733 with 15 lb copoly or 40lb braid with a leader.
  16. I'm not trying to thread Jack bigbassin' but I have a few questions. 1 Is a 6 wt. good for largemouth and smallmouth in open water? 2 What is a good line to use for bass?
  17. Popper and super spook. Try early in the morning around cover. Also try hollow belly frog in grass
  18. Wow!! I would be devastated if that happened to me . Double digit fish are rare here too, everythingthatswims caught one on my home lake, one of the only ones I've ever heard of being caught there. If that would happen to me I would die, right there on the spot. I would probably have a heart attack if I saw a bass of that size on my line.
  19. Nice Work! What colors did you use?
  20. I've heard about all these people having braid bleed like crazy, I fortunately have not had any of these issues with power pro. I'm looking forward to trying the J braid soon.
  21. Dobyns Fury 795 is a nice rod. Let's makes some swimbait rods in the custom magnum speed stick series, no experience with those but I can say the Mag grass rod is pretty sweet.
  22. I used a veritas frog rod for a while and it felt like a heavy rather than a medium heavy.
