Help with new spinning setup avid mf 6'6"
The line shiuld be fine for topwater. If using light wire jig hooks most lines can get a good hook set on spinning gear. If using heavier wire hooks I would bump up your line size. I personally fish finesse jigs with medium light spinning rods or medium casting rods with 10-20lb braid and 4-10lb leaders. That rod would also be good for fishing tubes and jerkbaits

Breaking off my Carolina Rig - Rocks are Hell
I would use a very abrasion resistant line like seaguar AbrazX for main line and 15lb sufix siege for leader material.

Rod I can use for cranks, spinner baits, chatterbaits.
I use a bass pro shops crankin stick 7' medium heavy that is rated as fast but is more like moderate fast because it is a graphite/glass combination. It is a great rod for all those baits.

Spinner bait knots
I use the Palomar knot for everything including fluoro to bait connection and I have never had that issue.

Spinnerbait-chatterbait setup?
Sounds good to me, except I like a moderate fast graphite rod or a glass rod

Part One: Suggest A Topwater Lure
Sexy dawg, walking boss part 2 and the original lunker lure buzzbait are my producers right now.

What's your preferred line for fiberglass crankbait rods?
I run 10lb invisX fluorocarbon or 20lb braid on my crankin rods. For square bills I use a 15lb fluoro leader because of the added benefit of abrasion resistance when deflecting baits off cover

Drop Shot Rod for Small Topwater/Jerkbaits?
I do it all the time. Drop shot rods normally have a soft tip and that would be good for treble hook lures and assuming it has a fast action it will be easier for work in the baits. The type of line will also be a factor.

irod stone cold swim and bladed jig rod
Welcome aboard Swimjigger!! I will only use a moderate fast action for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and swim jigs because you can get good casting distance and you have some flex in the rod to set the hook. You should not have any issues with the rod.

Hello, quick question about reels
I'd get the pflueger supreme. Silky smooth drag, very smooth feeling, and light.
-
What types of baits would you use this rod for?
Abu garcia rods fish a power heavier than normal. That is a good all purpose rod for just about anything.

I have noticed that the stripers strike crankbaits with a very slender baitfish profile more than cranks with a short and fat body. I also like to use a double rig with a redfin and a bucktail jig . I have an A-rig but have not had any luc with it.

need a quality medium cranking rod.
Fenwick aetos 6' 6" medium light/ moderate is a very nice rod. On a budget bass pro shops crankin stick 6'6 medium light or medium.

Rod Handle Question, your preference please.
I prefer cork split grips but I use Eva also. It is not a total deal breaker but that is what I prefer

We usually do use the outboard but we were experimenting to see if it really matters if you use the outboard or not. If you have the baits behind the boat far enough it really doesn't matter what motor you use. So you will probably be able to catch some. Put your baits out in an area that you were marking fish and run the baits through them. What baits do you normally use?

We were trolling with an outboard. We were not trolling with an outboard. Why?
