  1. I've been using a 7' ML/F St Croix triumph for small jerkbaits like pointer 65's , rozante 63 as well as X raps and shadow raps. I use 10 lb fins wind tamer with a 8 pound leader while fishing for smallmouth. I also use this setup for drop shot , grubs and tubes
  2. Heads up to the daiwa guys in the kill devil hills/ kitty hawk area, TW's bait and tackle has a brand new TD Sol for $180
  3. Yes, a lot actually, last year it was the only think the small mouth would bite, this year it has been producing good as well. River smallmouth love a small orange senko Yes

  5. I really the custom speed stick Mag grass rod. Really light ,sensitive, strong backbone= awesome pitching rod, especially for the price point
  6. I have found tons of plastics and crappie jigs, but my two best finds were a fire tiger bomber crank and a RC STX jerkbaits with modified hooks
  7. PM cadman, he's a member on here and will do custom work
  8. Good deal. I love summer smallies on jerkbaits, you can work them as fast as you want and still catch fish
  9. Thanks guys! I think I'm going to wait and see if the rod I'm looking at goes on sale later in the year.
  10. Punching and Carolina rig, awesome big fish bait
  11. Drop shot rods have a softer tip, they could be a extra fast action but will have a tip that loads up in the top portion of the rod. I only drop shot in <10 feet of water so I use a medium light with a really soft tip so when I shake the rig I don't move it around on the bottom . This rod is not very powerful, just enough to set a light wire drop shot hook. A shakey head rod is like a slightly less powerful Texas rig rod for driving that hook home, I throw shakey heads on a medium extra fast for the extra back bone
  12. I was looking for a frogging/flipping/punching rod and found the 7'3" Heavy carbon steel heavy frogging and swimbait rod. The reviews are good but I've heard that kistlers warranty is pretty much non existent. I really like the looks of the rod and it sounds like a good fit for what I'm looking for. Any opinions and comments are appreciated.
  13. Lucky craft pointer 68, duo realis crankbait 48MR, megabass pop X. All these hardbaits are 1/4 oz or under. Also the ned rig, neko rig, double fluke rig
  14. Chartreuse sexy shad and chartreuse black back in stained water and natural shad in clearer water
  15. I really like them on dt4 and dt6 rapalas
  16. Virginia , Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, west Virginia,
  17. Lews lfs speed spool on a field and stream tec spec black 6'6" medium fast with 30lb braid. Caught her on a jerkbait.
  18. I personally don't think for topwater line color matters, the only reason I use a leader for topwater is propbaits and if toothy critters are around
  19. For the price it's good, pretty sensitive and strong, handles good for a cheap fluoro. I use 8 pound on as leader on my jerkbait rod and 12lb on my spinnerbait rod.
  20. Probably around $100 or a little more
  21. My favorite all around length would be between 6'6" and 6'9"
  22. So I just got off the water after about 6 hours of fishing. Me and 2 others caught a combined 20 bass. We caught them on crank baits, jerkbaits, and drop shots , the bigger fish were caught on tubes near docks, drop shot near any cover you can see. We also saw 4 muskies , the biggest being about 40 inches
