For the 6' 8 I would use 12lb copolymer and for the 7' I would use 15 or 17lb fluoro. With crankbait rods the rod has a parabolic bend to keep fish pinned. The rod you have isn't ideal but it could work with mono and a backed off drag

I saw these in a tackle shop and I want to get a medium light casting rod for various techniques including finesse jigs, small jerkbaits, drop shot and tubes. I can't find many reviews on them and wanted everyone's opinion. Thanks for reading and responding
