  1. tipptruck, I have decided to stop reading your posts. In all honesty, I would speculate that anyone over thirty who frequents this site could care less about the trials and tribulations of the love lives of teenagers. Geez. :

Muddy, you are a lucky man. Two things I want to do before my number is up are to meet, and hopefully fish with, both Avid and Catt.
  3. You are giving up Pflueger?
  4. Carl, have you ever heard the term "snake-bit?" Man, you are truely snake bit. ;D
  5. During the Fork trip, I noticed that Triton21 was using some neat locking bars that kept the dirtbags from opening any of the lockers.
  6. Uh, Er, Um, unless you have a very old trolling motor, you don't need a rope to start it. It runs off a battery. ;D
  7. About 15 years ago I was obsessed with golf. Unfortunately, I was never any good at it and never shot lower than the high nineties. I suppose that's about par for someone who played only once a week and seldom practiced. I still have my Ping irons and Big Bertha driver, but they are gathering a lot of dust these days. Maybe I could figure a way to convert my golf bag into a combination tackle and rod bag.
  8. The only thing I would be throwing would be a hurricane party from the comfort of my home in Tulsa.
  9. So that's why I had two periods this month. ;D
  10. Muddy, what happened to that yellow rubber ducky ring you were wearing around your waist while we were at Lake Fork?
  11. It was back during the war in Viet Nam. I was stationed on a patrol boat in the Mekong Delta. One of our fighter planes missed its target and dropped a napalm bomb into the river very close to our boat. The explosion singed my eyebrows and the hair on my arms, but we had fried fish for weeks afterwards. Would I lie?
  12. Read everything you can that has been published on this site, and then put your new-found knowledge into practice. i.e. Go fishing!
  13. To all of you suffering from a lack of rain, I feel your pain (pun intended). Oklahoma has suffered from near-drought conditions for the last five years. Any of you who pat attention to the news know that we Oikes have been plagued with wild fires for the last couple of years. Two months ago, one our major lakes was twelve feet below normal. Today, it was one foot above. In the month of May alone, our state has been blessed with over twenty inches of rain. Hallelujah!
  14. I got this one from Bassin Magazine. I use a zip-tie designed for attaching to walls, etc. I zip the tie to the rod just above the handle, and then put the hook through the eye. See attached picture.
  15. they generally dont start with it in gear They generally don't start running at full throttle either. ;D
  16. Avid, I'm not sure of the configuration of your existing seat board, but based on the photos, it should be easy to mount a swivel and seat to your canoe. The swivel base is 7"x7" To give you an idea of what I'm getting at the attached photo will provide more info. Since I have no real stability issues with my raft, I mounted a 7" pedestal to my 1'2" ply seat-board with the swivel mounted on top of it, and then mounted the seat. I bought everything from Wal-Mart for less than $30.
  17. I tried frying water once, but I think I over-cooked it, because it disappeared.
  18. Washington D.C. - Our elected leaders protecting our Democracy, if the price is right.
  19. Good One Carl! Be glad the boat wasn't in gear when you started it.
  20. I agree with fendrcaster, you can, but if you run both motors at the same time, don't plan on getting too far from shore.
  21. In memory of my Dad, who fought with the Marines in the Pacific during WWII and survived. In memory of my friends Ron and Keith. who died in Nam. In memory of all those who have chosen to defend their country, both those who have gone before and those who do it now.
  22. OK, That's It > I will abide no further deleterious remarks about my beloved Pflueger reels. Should anyone continue casting doubts and aspersions upon my beloved reels I will place a hex on your fishing for no less than three months. You have been warned!
  23. I would love to try Yo-Zuri, if only I could find a local store that sells it. Academy and BPS don't carry it.

I figure if you want to catch bass, you have to be poleish. I know I'm not being poleitically correct, but I don't think the poleice will bother me over such a small issue. ;D
  25. Hey Avid, can you post a coupla photos? Despite my advanced old age, I still get an idea from time to time.
