Few Questions About Swivels.(When To Use And When Not To?)
I have a condition called Essential Tremors, which means that my hands shake. On my mistake days, trying to tie a knot as simple as a Palomar is all but impossible for me. For that reason, I use snaps on all of my bass fishing gear, and have not noticed any change in my catch ratio.

Due to popular request, this thread is now pinned. Now, we will wait and see how much participation we have. I hope that it is considerable.

Bank Fishing Forum
Buffalo, your point has merit, but if we created a forum for everyone who has a special interest, there would be hundreds of them. e.g. separate forums for crankbaits, plastics, top-waters, trolling motors, etc. By the time a member could scroll through all the forums looking for his/her particular interest, it would have been much easier to simply use the Search Function, located at the top, right of each page.

Best Rain Gear
In earlier years, I heard that the FrogTogs had a quality issue, primarily with leaking seams, and with the crotch ripping out. Best I can tell, FrogTogs has addressed this issue and has steadily increased the quality of their product. Although I have no experience with their product, I would certainly like to try them.

Why You Don't Take Your Hands Off Of The Wheel
Please describe all "issues" with aluminum-hulled Trackers manufactured over say, the last five years. I would also very much appreciate it if you could provide proof that these issues are not just hearsay. Also, I would venture to say that since, by far, Tracker is the largest manufacturer of aluminum boats in the nation, they would receive the largest number of complaints. For example, if Tracker produces 10,000 boats per year and has quality issues with 1% of their boats, that's 100 complaints. If a competitor producing only 1,000 boats per year has the same percentage of quality issues, then they receive only 10 complaints. So, it stands to reason that Tracker would get an unfair bad rap.

Has Your Life Panned Out Different Than You Thought It Would?
You say you are only 24. I'm 67, so feel qualified to offer some "fatherly" advice. At this point in your life, you are still building the foundation for what you will become in the future. At all costs, continue your education, but keep asking yourself if the education you are receiving is preparing you for the career path you want to follow. In other words, ask yourself "What do I want to be doing five years from now?" and then make sure you are receiving the education necessary to prepare you for that goal. The worst thing you can do is to do nothing. That course of action will guarantee that you will be qualified to wait tables, or to work in your local fast food restaurant, or to sell shoes. Is that what you want to be doing five years from now?

Road Trip 2014?
OK, for all you armchair quarterbacks, the following are the criteria we are looking for when we are looking for a site for the Road Trip. 1. It must be geographically accessible for the majority of our members. If you don't know where the majority of our members are located, take a look at the Members Map. 2. It must have hotel/motel accommodations for couples or singles. Couples or singles cannot afford to rent a cabin for themselves alone 3. It must have cabins for groups on a budget who want to share accommodations. 4. It must have internet access. 5. It must have a central meeting and banquette location, out of the weather, that can accommodate all of the attendees. Figure 25 to 50 attendees. 6. It must have electrical hook-ups for the boats. 7. It must have locations nearby that can accommodate RV'ers and tenters. All of the above are MUST's. If any of you members have a location in mind that meets ALL of the above criteria, I would very much like to hear from you via PM. No need to clutter this forum with further speculation.

Total Animals Raid Walmart
Deadbeats will be deadbeats. Always looking for something they don't have to work for, but returning nothing, such as a day's labor for a day's pay. It sickens me to see what our country has come to.

Most Interesting Person You've Met While Fishing
The most interesting person I've met while fishing is, without a doubt, Big-O. If you think that guy in the beer commercial is interesting, you haven't met Steve Parks, the inventor of the Rage Tail baits Those of us who know him will concur. Steve is a modest guy, so I will mention only a few of his accomplishments. An inventor, a man who targets, and catches BIG bass, a poet, a writer of Children's' Books, a Tenth Degree Black Belt ... I could go on, but like I said, Steve is a modest guy.

The Eagles
I was sitting in the cheapest seats in the arena. They were $50. Others ranged from $80 to $180.

The Eagles
This 67 year-old man just returned this evening from attending his first Eagles concert. That band is nothing less than fantastic! They are just as good as they were in the 70's, if not better. Joe Walsh is still a magician on his guitar. I brought my 40 year-old daughter with me and she enjoyed it as much as I did. Funny thing though, I guess the Eagles appeal to a different demographic than other bands. The youngest person I saw appeared to be about 30. Most were 40 plus, and I saw only white people. Another odd thing I witnessed was that everyone was very gracious to each other. During the mid-performance break I high-tailed it to the restroom and found myself in a line with about 200 people ahead of me. Not one person attempted to cut into that line. Everything was very cordial all evening long. Another sign of the changing times I witnessed was this. Remember back in the old days when a nostalgic song was played and everyone struck their lighters to wave? Now, the lighters are gone. Everyone lights the arena up by turning on their cell phone displays. Go figure. I used my lighter anyway. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would highly recommend attendance by anyone who is old enough to appreciate the music of the Eagles.

I Am Curious About Outboards!
I suppose they are fine for "electric only" lakes, but I would never consider replacing my gasoline outboard with an electric one. Besides the battery issue mentioned by Gene, Humminbird and Lowrance have already solved the self-guidance issue. In addition, I could care less about using my cell phone to steer my boat. It's just one more thing to get dropped in the water. At least the remote for my iPilot is water-proof and floats.

What Do You Want To Learn For The Winter Months?
What do I want to learn? It has nothing to do with fishing. I want to earn a license as a ham radio operator. Go figure. I'm 67, and still wanting to learn.

As mentioned above, at your age, you have no identity to steal. It's quite easy to apply for a different SS card with a different number. I'll let you Google it.

Dallas Vs Denver - What A Barn Burner
That was one of the best games I've seen for a long time. Romo throws for more than 500 yds. and Manning throws for over 400. That game could have easily gone either way. Final score, 51-48, Denver. Whew! That leaves only three teams undefeated at 5-0; KC, Denver, and my beloved Saints. Despite the expertise of Brees, I fear for my beloved Saints should they come face to face with Denver.

Awesome! Not only do I like the canoe, I like the old metal hard hat and the even older telephone. Also, is that a Ham radio rig?
