In addition to the information provided above, I would encourage you to go to our Fishing Articles section and begin reading here. http://www.bassresource.com/how-to-fish/
  2. I assume that you have a two bank charger; one for the trolling motor battery and one for the starting motor. Therefore there are only three wires coming out of the charger. Two of them will lead to the batteries, and the third will lead to the AC power plug, or the end of a wire that has been cut and leads nowhere. Either way, you have found the correct wire.
  3. If you go to a custom rod builder and tell him the type of rod you would like to have, and your budget, I can pretty much guarantee you that you will get twice the rod you were expecting. But first you have to do your homework. One of our sponsors is Batson. You can go to their site and pretty much design your own rod, from grips, to blanks to reel seats, to guides. Once you have made your decisions, simply call your custom builder and read the menu to him.
  4. OK folks, this has gone on long enough. Next we'll be talking about quintuple rigged wacky senkos. Good night Irene.
  5. Very useful info Retiredbosn - and Sloan, thanks for the referrals.
  6. Thanks for the tips Glenn, I'm going to start using them.
  7. My wife has never been in my boat, and has no interest in ever doing so. Truthfully, I wish she would join me from time to time, but I doubt that it will ever happen.
  8. In case the OP hasn't noticed, this topic has been beaten to death. You might want to start reading here. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12401-senko-faq-%C2%A0look-here-first/
  9. They is buttin on difernt kinds of bates.
  10. X3 the on the horn in a can.
  11. As long as you religiously use a fuel stabilizer like Stabil or Startron (my preference) your engine will work just fine. I've been running ethanol gas for years with no problems other than the fuel lines themselves. Be sure to follow Slonzp's advice and replace any fuel lines with those rated for ethanol.
  12. Have you considered using braid with a flouro leader? It has many advantages, e.g. Almost zero line stretch. Excellent sensitivity. A very long life span. Backlashes can be removed without damage to the line. Much smaller line diameter per pound of test when compared to flouro or mono.
  13. Greetings from a fellow Okie. I live in Tulsa.
  14. I love my Terrova, despite that I do not have Humminbird units. I can't speak for the Xi5 units, as I have had no experience with them. Regardless of which unit you opt for, you will probably love it. Electronic steer is the wave of the future. When my budget allows, my next purchase will be the Minn Kota Ulterra.
  15. I fully agree with Stevo and Turtle. The behind the gills hook removal technique works great!
  16. C22, nice observation about the Awards sound system. I had the show piped through my stereo and was very disappointed with the sound quality. I suppose the producers didn't care, because they knew most folks would be listening through their crappy TV sound systems. As for the quality of country music in general I have to agree that there has been a gradual decline in the quality and originality in the music; especially among the male singers. It's almost like listening to different songs, sung by the same voice. With the exception of Taylor Swift (gag,) I really like most of the female singers out there. It's too bad that there are not more of them.
  17. I've used them on a couple of occasions with no problems. Prompt service.
  18. There are a lot of very good articles on this website that will help point you in the right direction. Here's one of them. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/tournament_sponsorships.html
  19. Buying a kit never crossed my mind. I use the same rational as said above. There are a couple of useful items in the kit and the rest is junk that the manufacturer is trying to get rid of.
  20. If you are in my boat and the big motor is running, you WILL wear a PFD or you WILL remain at the dock. At trolling motor speeds, it's up to you.
  21. There IS a Mod around, and he has been for quite some time. I have edited a number of posts, but I'm not ready to lock this thread - yet.
  22. All of them, but I don't have to wait for ice out.
  23. Man, I know that hurts. Probably the only way that thief is going to get caught is from the trailer tag, if any. I say that because my state (Oklahoma) doesn't require one. The Lake Patrol doesn't have the resources to chase down a theft, so it's up to the guys in the cruisers to catch it. Good luck.
  24. Raider, so much for your sabbatical. I knew you couldn't stay away.
  25. Welcome!
