When I applied for the boat registration I had to fill out a questionnaire. One of the questions was "Who is the best bass fisherman that you know?" I said it was you. I think that's why I ended up with BS in the boat's name.

My boat's name is BS-764-OK. The state of Oklahoma named it for me. Sexy name, isn't it?

I'm watching Shindler's List. Great movie. Haven't seen it in ages.

I contacted Minn Kota about the ability to re-stow the motor in the event of any failure. They assured me that the provision is built-in. I'll let you know, because as soon as I can get my hands on the Ulterra, my Terrova goes up for sale. I've been champing at the bit for that motor since I first heard about it. First MK announced it would be available in early fall of last year, then early this year. Now they are saying nothing. My most recent email to MK last week resulted in the response that the motors were in production. But where? China? Korea? And when will they reach the USA? I had hoped that I would have the new motor mounted on my boat by March, but my hopes are dimming.

Those who have a Terrova, and know how to use it, know that it will perform as well as those using cable steer. I have a Terrova and fish in stump-filled lakes on many occasions, e.g. Toledo Bend and Lake Fork, and have never had any problem navigating through stick-ups. Yes, there is a learning curve, but once you master it, it's a piece of cake - just like learning to use cable steer I have been waiting for the Ulterra to finally appear on the market for months. As said in an above post. the only thing I don't like about the Terrova is that it is a PITA to stow and deploy. At my age (68) this becomes more of an issue, so the Ulterra will be the answer for me, and I want to be one of the first to own one. As for the comments above about being unable to retrieve the motor if it failed in the down position, there is now a fail-safe way to retrieve it.

While I agree with your rationale, I feel that BPS is seriously behind the times in comparing their catalog sales to their internet sales. It's almost as if a member of the Johnny Morris family is in charge of the Catalog department and refuses to see the light.

All you have to do is order one thing from BPS and you will be deluged with catalogs. All of the ones I receive go promptly into the recycle bin. Why on earth anyone would use a catalog when it's so much easier to shop online is beyond me. BPS must be wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars printing catalogs that very few people read.
