  1. Are you saying that you want to run on-plane in less than 18" of water?
  2. Gentlemen, let me get this straight. Are you guys reviewing an Ulterra that was once offered in the past, and has since been pulled off the market, or are you reviewing the new Ulterra that has just been released to the public?
  3. Glenn's wife Keri turned 28 again today. Happy Birthday!
  4. Well crap, Tommy. Very sorry to hear that you can't make it. Maybe next year. It seems that we have potential attendees dropping like flies. We are now down to a cozy little group of seven; the perfect number for a penny-ante game of bourre'.
  5. I was mistaken when I said the Wesley was going to join us. He has started a new job and will be offshore. We'll miss you Wesley. Bert, I'm very much looking forward to your fish fry. Once again we'll pass the hat for donations.
  6. With the exception of BassinChris, Bighead, Felix77, and me, it appears that everyone will be arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday. The rest of us will be arriving earlier and leaving later. It's very disappointing that everyone cannot stay for the duration of the event. For that reason, I am planning on holding the hamburger cook-out on Friday evening. It will be our first meet and greet as a group. I'll throw the burgers on the pit at 6:00. If anyone wants to help me slice and dice, please show up at 5:30. I'll supply Becky's famous baked beans, soft-drinks and beer, but if you want anything stronger, its BYOB. I'll pass the hat and ask for a $5.00 contribution to help offset my costs. Contributions are not mandatory. Bighead, with such a small group, are you still willing to do your fish-fry? If so, we can do it on Saturday evening, using the same approximate time frame. I'll firm up the location of the cook-out(s) tomorrow. With the exception of Felix77, is there anyone else who will be arriving without a boat? This is an occasion for us all to make new friends. It seems that we will have more boaters than non-boaters. Would you guys be receptive to a random draw that might leave your boat sitting on the trailer while you fished with someone new, and vice-versa the next day?
  7. OK folks, here is the updated list of attendees. If you have not PM'd me with your contact information, you are not on the list. Catt Bighead & wife BassinChris Felix77 (all the way from New York) Wesley Long Mike Bass-Fanatic Jcdogfish It's a cryin shame that many of our regulars will not be able to make it this year, because The Bend is such an awesome fishery. However, I'm looking forward to seeing a few old friends and making new ones. Tomorrow I will post a schedule of who will be there when, but right now I'm watching a very good movie.
  8. What size and type of worm did you have in mind? There are many variants.
  9. You will receive as many opinions as there are plastic baits. Why not rephrase your question and ask for opinions on specific baits?
  10. Both my Boat and my Home Owners insurance cover loss of my fishing gear.
  11. geo g - VERY WELL SAID! A-Jay, are you that old woman who lives in a shoe?
  12. Welcome Ed!
  13. Gawd, I would love to be called by one of those pukes. I would pretend to be caught red-handed, and then start running them around the block with false credit card and bank info. I'll bet I could keep them on the phone long enough to get to the nearest FBI building.
  14. I don't know about Ducket rods, but if the micro magic is an ultra light rod, you need to change your rod. It doesn't have enough backbone in it to set the hook in the mouth of a bass of any size. If you want to continue with that rod, make sure that when you set the hook, you set it HARD.
  15. 1. When you come to a fork in the road, take it! Yogi Berra 2. I went to a party the other night. Everybody in the room was there! Blond Bimbo 3. I went to the lake today and noticed that the water came all the way up to the shore. Raider
  16. Gary turned 63 today! Happy Birthday my friend!
  17. Krappiehog hit the nail on the head. Add that to a much lower sales volume when compared to cars, and you have your answer.
  18. Now you know why I do not watch that show. Lots of fluff and little substance.
  19. Mike, sorry to hear about the surgery, but it's good to hear that you are recovering well. Hope to see you on the next Road Trip!
  20. If you are on the water and someone needs help, you drop what you are doing and help the guy out. Period ... or at least I thought so until I fished Mustang Bay on Lake Fork several years ago. I had motor trouble and started waving my arms at the next passing boat. He pulled up close to me and said he would like to help, but he was fishing in a tournament, and then he blasted away. I suppose that if I were having a heart attack, or was sinking, he might have tried to help, but to me, his actions were reprehensible. I wish I had had the presence of mind to get his boat ID number. I've given a tow to others a couple of times and have never regretted the loss of fishing time, but then, I don't fish tournaments. It makes me wonder. At what point does the potential prize value of a tournament outweigh your obligation to help another?
  21. Hey Bert, I love staying at Fox's. David and Pam, the owners, are great folks. If I hadn't of been planning on a large group function, I would have stayed there. The accommodations are not exactly 4 star, but the sheets are clean, the roaches are kept at bay, and the HVAC works. What more can a fisherman ask for?
  22. Welcome Fred! A bunch of us member will be gathering at Toledo Bend from March 18th thru 21st. Regardless of your experience, you are invited to join us. Go to the General Fishing forums and select the pinned Unofficial Road Trip thread for more information.
  23. I use 12 lb. mono for every reel. Seems to work well for me, regardless of the type of main line that I use.
  24. I would grade my season at 11,268.452. I use my own set of parameters.
