Anyone fish Berlin Lake OH?
Love that lake. and being a big circle? don't get it. its long and has many fingers and coves. lake Milton, which berlin flow into is a big circle. yes its muddy, but some of the creek arms can be clear as can be. there is tons, and I mean tons of flooded brush and timber. so much that you can flip for ever. Yes Its hard to fish, but if you can figure it out, it can be great. If your there in may, use sinko's, rat-l-traps, tubes and small worms. took me a few times up there, to find them, but they are there. I am the only one so far, but great lake. one of my favs to fish in Ohio.

Towing
I would stay with the old truck or try to buy a cheep one to tow with. I would stay away from towing with the Taurus. first I am sure the baot is way over any tow rateing the car has, if it has one. then even if you do tow with it, you will kill the car. back in the late 80's / early 90's My dad had a Olds delta 88, front wheel drive 1988 year with a 3.8L V6. It had a tow limit of 2000. the V6 had alot of power. but the car just didn't have the guts. well we towed a 14 foot V hull, total weight under 1000 and it killed the car. the suspention had many propblem and It would break ball joins alot. ended up burn the trans to, even though we only towed in 3rd. for what we paid to fix and keep the olds running we could have bought a nice used truck and never had any problems. that car only lasted 5 years 60,000 miles. the boat killed it. and it was a lot smaller boat than your ranger.

Tracker Tournament V18 Bass Boat
I fished out of a V18 a few years ago, and it was a great boat. It had a 150hp on not a 90. I think the 90 is the base motor package. It should push it ok. Great layout. just like a bass boat with the comort of a deep V. handled the waves really good. I have a Sea Nymph deep V with a walk tru widshild ( walleye type boat). and the tracker V18 ran the waves almost as good as my boat, mine is bit deeper, but I really loved the layout like a bass boat. It is wide open. Sounds like a good price at $9k. always offer less. Bassn Blvd wrong style tracker boat. the V18 is a deep V hull with a bass boat layout. I like you boat to. I fish out of a 175ptx alot and love it to. and that 2 stroke carb 90HP is a great motor.

Tow Vehicle Question
I have been towing boat since 1990, boats fron 12 footers to 32 foot poontoons. I got my first 4x4 in 2005, always had 2wd, and never really had any problems. I mean if the ramp looked bad I didn't launch. I got stuck once, but I would have even with a 4x4. the trailer fell off the end of the ramp and the frame stuck on the cement. since I got my 4x4 (Chevy Tahoe) I have never needed the 4x4. I used it in 4x4 once on a muddy ramp, but I think I could have pulled it in 2wd, but put in 4wd just incase. just ease on the gas. I see to many guys that put down to much power and that is why they get stuck. also if you are spinning on a ramp. I don't know if a Nissan will do it, but GM truck will start in 2cd gear when put in 2cd gear. this will make it harder to spinn tires, yes you will need it give it more gas, but it helps. that is a trick I always used with my 2wd's

Tow vehicle.
friend of mine had a 1997 GC with a 4.0 L straight 6 and it pulled a 22 foot Mastercraft ski boat for 10 years. 210,000+miles with out a major problem. he added a trans cooler and towed in 3rd, in 2000 he did upgrade the brakes, because a lot of his towing would be in the mountains in Pa, WVA& and MD. but it handled it fine. he now pulls with a 07 GC with a hemi in it, its better. As long as the boat, or what ever you are towing, is under the Max tow weight you should be fine. and like said I don't think that boat is anywhere near your Max tow weight. and a 200 mile trip is nothing, you could tow that boat on 1,000+ trips and have no problems
-
Advice...What would you do
what kind are you using? get two trandusers one on the transom and one on the TM. and two mounting brakets. then you can run it on the transom till you get to a spot, then take it off and move it to the TM. I know Hummingbirds are very easy to move from mount to mount. then when you get the money you can get another unit and you already have the transducer and mounting base set up and ready to go.

Trolling motor suggestions?
get as much thrust as you can afford. one suggestion, I know you want to keep the $$ low, but do not skimp on your TM. It is the one part of your boat you use more than anything. getting a good TM was the best thing I ever did. If you buy a small, cheep motor you will not enjoy running it.it will not push the boat in curret, wind or get out of the weeds If you go with a 12 volt sysytem, a 45#-55# should work just fine. if you go 24 the a 70 is great, but that is more $$. you also have to decide if you want cable steer?, or a power steer? what motor is on it now? I know the new ones have a 45#MG, its ok, but I like alot more power.

The color of your boat
I think someone is way...way over thinking everything. just go out and fish. BTW I don't think I have ever seen a boat with a green bottom.. have you? :-? Hey on the other thing metioned. the torpedo the clear one works great too, think about that.

help with max weight capacity
I would say 0lbs can you put more in it? yes, should you? no. going over the limit is asking for trouble remember that 354 is total weight, and the or two people. that is two people and gear limited to 354. If the 2 people weigh more that 354 then your over

trolling motor questions, wiring, etc.
You could tie them all together and run them off on switch and batteries. However with 12 volt TM on high, ( I have a 50MK know how it is) you might be pulling a lot of amps and burn up the switch also you might run down your batteries faster if all tied together, because of the high amps. I know on my small boat Have a 52 up front and a 50 out back, they each have their own battery. I used to put them together, but when running both at full power the battery life was cut short. just my experience. The 12ga wire should be more that enough for the DF, have you ever looked at how small the wires are they use? must be 20ga or smaller. How much is 6ga wire now? You know since your using only 12volt TM's you could use 8 ga with no problem. I know that is what I use on my small boat with 12 volt TM's is 8ga, on my big boat I have a 36 volt TM and it calls for 6ga. well I ended up using 4ga since it was cheeper than the 6ga when I bought it. I did find out one thing the 6ga wire the factory has installed on the TM is way smaller that any 6ga I have even seen, even smaller than the 8ga I have. I have run the 36volt TM on my small boat with the 8ga and have no problems.

can sonars cause interference with each other?
on my 17'6" boat I run a Humminbird Matrix 87c and a 787c and have never had any problem with them intertfering with each other. On my 15 footer I run 2 Humminbird 300TX and have no problem, however when I used to have a humminird wide Eye on the transom of the 15footer I would get interferance. This is even in deep water I fish one lake that is averge 75 to 125 feet and have no problem

EVERYONE!!
This is starting tomake sense to me. I thought I was just unlucky, but there might be something else going on. In the past 2 years I have had 2 outboards go down with burnt pistons.they are both Suzuki's and the manual stated to run 87 in them. I ran 87 in both( I used to run 94 in one back in the 90's when it was $1.30 a gal) and pre mixed in one 50-1. both where older motor, but ran great and never had any issues, then all of a sudden, bam, they blew up. one even seized. I also know 2 others that motors just went, burning pistion up, and these were smaller motors, one a 50hp and other a 35hp, both johnson's

Live Well question
first you need to check the "rules" for the tournaments you are fishing. I Know BASS has a 10gal min livewell size, which is very small. The rule is enough water that a limit of fish can be safely transported in them. I would make sure that the livewell is big enough. last thing you want is dead fish. Your 3 large and 2 small fish make me laugh & and seem confused :-?, what if you catch 5 big fish, now what do you do? or do you only catch 3 big ones and 2 small ones? and put back the other big ones

Do you start your boat out of water
with out muffs or being in the water it a big NO!!!, it doesn't take long to burn a motor up.

Tube jig heads
sorry roadwarrior, but on Erie a jig head works best, other places the insterted weight might be better, but for dragging on Erie a jig head is #1 and bassnleo is right none are weedless, and on Erie there are no weeds, anyway I have used all 3, like 1 and 2. #2 I like better. also make sure the hooks are not lite wire, make sure they are a heavy hook. I have lost to many fish on erie with lite wire hooks. The straighten them out. since I switched to a heavier hook, I rearly loose a fish. I like these hooks the best. Infact I don't use any other jig heads anymore. These are GMAX hooks #1 for me. http://www.ohioprolure.com/

Towing a Bass Tracker w/ Ford Explorer
If what you are towing is under the max weight of the bumper than its ok. just remember that you must add all the wieght, not just the boat, trailer, motor, don't forget gas, batteries, tm, gear, ect. You will still be under the 3000 mark. just one thing to watch out. I did this once and my buddy did it with my trailer on his Explorer. don't make very sharp truns. the trailer will hit the bumper, either damaging the bumper, or worse bending the trailer. that is what happen when my buddy pulled my boat and made a 90degree turn

Towing
you should be able to tow with out much problems. stoping will be an issue. you will be going through front brakes every year, depending of how much you tow. At highway speeds you might not be able to get it in 5th gear, but on the flats it will run well. I use to pull my 17'6" deep v hull boat with a 1988 GMC S-15 ( same as the S-10) with a 2.5 4 banger and a 5 speed with out a posi rear. I towed the boat for two years till I got a new truck. This is the boat I pulled, now with the Tahoe, but when i first got the boat in 1994 I tow with the S-15, also I live in Pittsburgh and It pulled the hills good, slow, but good. also if you have AC forget about using it when towing with that 4banger

Reaction Innovations
Where does he get off naming these things? Its all a marketing plan and you fell for it. Your talking about them right? It gets his companies name out there and people hear about it. can you say "free advertising"? He is a good businessman and if it works I don't care what its called I'll use it. wait I do you them. I like the "Mini skirt" and the smallie beaver in "road kill"

towing a jonboat
Like I said eariler, does it have a step bumper? I towed my 15 foot V hull with a GMC S-15 ( just like a S-10) with a 4 banger/ 5 speed, with a step bumper that I bolted a ball on for years and never had any problem.. If you truck doesn't have rear step bumper(which alot of truck do not come with one) then you will need to get a reciever hitch installed. you can go to a U-HULL and get one done for around $200.

Minnkota Bow Mount
If you want to stay under $800 then almost anything is in your budget except for a 36 volt TM. I would go with a 24 volt TM. yes its a bit more power than you might need, but having more power is better than not having enough. On my 15 foot V hull I have a 52# minkota, and I hate it. wish I had more power. First off its a power drive and I hate that style motor. wish it was a cable steer. I am looking at getting a new motor for it and am looking at a 71-82 # 24 volt system. On my big boat I run a 109# 36 volt TM. I have put that TM on my 15 footer and it was great. way more than I needed, but fun. I would go with a 24volt TM. 65 -71 #

towing a jonboat
first off you can not tow without a hitch. you need some sort of ball hitch to tow a trailer. either a bumper hitch where the ball is mounted to the rear step bumper ( for that size boat that is ok) or a receiver style hitch calls II or III. the truck will be able to tow that boat with out a problem. if ist an auto trans do not, I say again do not tow in Over drive. If the truck has a step bumper there should be a hole for a ball. get the right size ball 1 7/8 or 2, inch bolt it up get a wire harness and your off to the water

Color Vs Black/White
those that say " you don't need color" haven't really used one . If you had to pick get the color and once you go color you will not want to use a BW unit again
