50 HP Engine Will not start
instead of swapping out part after part, most might be good and costing you lots of $$, why dodn't you just take it to a shop and let them work on it. they can fix it right and will end up costing you less $$

motor problems
yes, I would take it to a shop and get them to rebuild the carb, and get the motor running good again

Need a New T-Motor Battery
if it wasn't fully charged and left outside during sub freezing temps, then it might have. mine stay charged and out side and have no problems. those are good batteries. I am on 3 years now and they work great, as long as you maintain them. Have you checked the water level in them? Also then why didn't you take it back if it was leaking? You sure its leaking by the post or is a cap for fill/checking water loose? If your not even sure what group it is, then maybe you should do a little research on batteries before you get a new one. read up. make sure you get the right one for your application.

TROLLING MOTOR SHAFT LENGTH...?
go with the 45. even with the 54 on rough days it will still come out. great choice on the TM. I have a 109 MG Tour and its is great. That has athe 54 inch shaft and that boat is a Deep V and I still have to bring the motor up some. also with the 54inch you will have it pulled so far up to fish shallow that it will get in the way. one hint. before you bolt down the new tm make sure the prop dosen't hit the boat. My buddy put an 82 tour on his 175 PTX tracker and had to put 1/2 rubber spacers under the TM. when the motor was stowed the prop would hit the hull and if it was powered up by accident it would break the prop. I know the 46 pro did that on my PTX 175

Re: 36V setup in a Bass Tracker Pro 18.
keep the big TM, if you get rid of it you will always want it. I run a 36 volt MG 109# on a 17'6" V hull. yes guys a 109# on a 17'6" and love it. always good to have the extra power. you can really mount that 3rd battery anywhere in the boat as long as you wire it up right. the three batteries do not have to be next to each other to wire them up. Personally I run 3 24 groupe batteries. Mg even recomends that. they are lighter and they still deliver alot of power. I have fished a 2 day tournaments and couldn't recharge between days. And I am on my TM alot heavy current. I still had alot of power left after 2 days. When I go to canada every year on atrip we can not recharge every night, I get about 3-4 days before I need to recarghe. I switched to groupe 29 once and saw no differance in the way the motor ran, all those batteries did was add weight and take up more space.

Help: Question on Bass Boat towing
I am not saying you can not tow with it. But I had a 94 ranger with a 3.0L V6 and it sucked. I had trouble towing any hills around pittsburgh. I was towing a 17'6" V hull. I hated it. My GMC S-15 with a 4 banger towed better. I had it for 5 months then got rid of it and bought a S-10 with a 4.3 V 6 and it towed like a dream. a few buddies have rangers with the 4.0LV6 and they tow good, but the 3.0L sucked.

livewell HELP
OK I might have this right from you picture. the big fitting in the lower middle of your LW is your drain, not for puming water in, but letting it drain out. That pipe coming down on the left should be overflow. now you need to install a new fitting/spay head that is up at the top of your LW. that big fittig you will need to get a plug that fits it and have it just running to a tru hull fitting. when your done for the day just pull the plug and the lw will drain. the one of the left is already set up to you overflow so that will work fine. you will have to drill a new hole in your hull ( down by the drain outlet) install your new pump and run a new hose up to a spray head you will have to install in your lw. I have seen many older "cheeper" boats that have "lw" that do not have pumps just a hlding tank.

Trailer tires
I changed my tires out about every 5-6 years. and yes I do wear them out. one thing to look at is dry rot. most trailer tires go bad from that before wearing out. because they sit. and one thing for guys to look at, get trailer tires, not regular car tires. I did this years ago. they were a lot cheeper so I said "tires are tires" so I bought the car tires. two years later I was buying the trailer tires

Anyone network two sonar/GPS units?
I did it with my Humminbird units using their interlink. not sure how the lowrance work getting them to work together. Its a great thing. I can save a wave point up front and it is saved on both. I also can check temp from both units . It is well woth it to link them together.

Minn Kota or Motorguide?
seeing now that its a 12volt sysytem. First off If I was getting a new tm I would look to moving up to 24volt. It just is so much better than a 12 volt. Now that being said, if you stay with a 12 volt, I would have to say MK even though I am a MG guy.

Minn Kota or Motorguide?
here are few question what type. bow mount or transom? If bow, power steering, or cable? Price range? 12,24, or 36 volt? I have used both brands and have liked and hated each. Right now my favorate is MG DigitalTour series, hands down. Now if your looking for a high power 24-36 volt TM and high $$ motor, than the MG digital tour is the best out there ( in my opinion ) if your limited in the funds and looking at a 12 volt tm than I would go with a MK. If your thining about power steering I would say stay away. I just do not like the power steer. I even have one on one of my boats and can't wait to get rid of it. When it was my main TM on my big boat I had to replace the foot pedal 3 times in 2 years. That is when I replaced it with the MG. I have had lots of problems with MK PD, and older style MG. I have been running my MG digital tour 109# 4 years now and has never let me down. And I run it hard. the foot pedal is solid and turns nice and eazy ( MG digital tour ) uses a 2 cable pull-pull set up. Its is silky smooth. I have 3 boats one has a MG digital tour on it, the other two have a MK PD and a MG pro. I can not wait to change them out for a MG digital tour. just need to get some extra $$$.

Fishfinder question(s)
I would say save that $150-$200 till you get more for a better unit. you buy a cheep one you will regret it. I have on suggestion. most people do not do this, but I did and I have my reason for it. Why don't you put the better unit at the bow? That is the one you will be using the most. On all three of my boats I have (or had, cause I have two of the same units now) the better unit up front and would rather have it that way. just my 2cents.

Boat trailer/Boat ramp
Sounds like you have to put your trailer deep in the water to get the boat off. Is this right? Does your boat sit high on the trailer? If it does you might find a way to make it sit lower to help not having to put the trailer so deep. I'll use my boats for example. I have a 15-foot Starcraft V hull and it sits high on its trailer. The cross members on the trailer are straight and the boat sits above the fenders. That boat did sit over 24 inches above the ground and is hard to launch. Now my 17'6 sea nymph V hull sits low on its trailer. The cross members have a V bend to them and the fenders are out wider than the boat. This way the boat sit down, in the trailer making it lower and a lot easier to launch. It sits about 12 inches off the ground. The trailer doesn't need to go that deep in the water to get the boat off. Now if your boat sits high there a few mods you can do. That depend on how mechanic you are. This is what I did and got the boat to sit about 6-7 inches lower now. I lowered the fenders, this aloud me to adjust the bunks and lowering them on my trailer. That help a lot I used some ideas I used when I lowered trucks in sport truck days. I flipped the axle from under the springs to above the springs; this did take some welding and fabing of parts to get it right also one thing. as soon as you feel the tire fall off the ramp stop and pull up. you should be able to get trailer back up on the ramp

Opinions on a used Tracker boat?
have a 2005 tracker PTX 175 with a 25merc on it and love it great boat, can get places my other boat can't and is easy to tow. and great TM, I wish I ahd that one my boat. I only have 45# and the 82 tour is what I want to install. just to let you know that TM is worth almost a grand itself. I would say good price. Buy it. I didn't know they made a costal package. what does the carpet come snap in and out?

2002 Mercury 125 HP ELPTO
Great Motor. My brother has a 96 merc 125HP on his 17 foot Alumacraft and it runs hard , tops out at 54mph at 6000rpm with a 21 pitch prop. I am trying to get him to try a 23 or 25 pitch to see what kind of speed we can get out of it. one thing to get used to. at low rpm's only 2 cylinders are running ( this is so you can troll with it) at about 2000rpm the other 2 join in. this will make the boat jump alittle. however if you just floor it all four cylinder fire and it has a great hole shot. other thing, is it need to be level for the motor to start, if its tilted it will not start cold. My dad had a 94 merc 125hp. It blew a hole in a piston. in 2000, got it rebuilt and it ran better than before. he sold that to a buddy and it is still running strong today. a carb leaned out that caused the piston to go bad. our mechanic told us to get the carbs checked and cleaned ever other year. that has been done on both motors and no problems since.

motorguide mount?
on the mounts I am not sure. The mount on the 82-109 is a way bigger and heavy duty than others. On didgital over standard, the answer is YES!! DIGITAL ONLYI would not buy one that was not a digital MG. I have a 109 Tour series Digital and love it and my Tracker has a 45 Pro ( non-digital) and hate it, as soon as I can afford I will get a new one. The non digital is the old style MG that have had lots of trouble, but the digital MG are a new breed and are way better motors.

Thru-Hull fittings
Make sure you clean down all surfaces with rubbing alcohol so that there is no wax or oil and that the sealant works right, and you should have no problems

Post up your tow rigs.

Motor Guide or Minn Kota
The digital (tour series) also uses a metal foot pedal, where the other uses a plastic one. The digital (tour series) also use 2 cables not one. The mounts that they use are also a lot different. The mount of my 109 tour is a beast, all metal with springs and is heavy very sturdy, the 45pro on my tracker is a lot smaller and not as sturdy That old MG Tour Tm you had was in a non digital? I think they started making digital tours 4-5 years ago, so if its older than that it was one of their older tour motors. mine is 4 years old now and still going strong with out one issue., when they went to digital tours they made a great motor. They are the best I have ever used. that 45pro ( 2 years old) on my tacker will be going as soon as I can afford a new one. It will be a 82# digital tour for that one

Color Options And your opinion
I always go with light colors inside, light blue, grey, red, brown. those dark color make it really hot when the sun is beating down on it for 8 -10 hours. I would never use black, also it is hard to get clean. One my boats. one is blue, one grey and one tan, I like the tan the best. I had a buddy with a black carpeted boat and it was hard to stay in it in the summer, and forget about taking you shoes off. hot feet!!!

new LUND
On their web site, it has a video on the power steering and it turn easy, but the fact of holding on to a 250hp tiller is still out of this world

Best Fish Finder?
alot of people, most infact, have thier better DF at the steering wheel and cheeper one at the bow. I am differant. I put the better one on the TM up front. I use the bow mount DF 90% of the time and only use the other when running. I mean these are fishing boats, and that is what we do most of the time is fish, so wouldn't you want the better one where you will use it most? I now run two of the same units one at the bow and the other at the wheel, both are Humminbirds so I got an interlink and everything I see on one I can see on the other PS get a color DF. they are the best. you will hear guys say "you don'y need color" they have not tried it yet. Once you use a color unit you will never want to use a b/w one again

Machette prop
I am thinking of getting one too for my 109# MG. I had talked to a few pros at the bass masters classic a few years ago that had changed theirs to the metal props. they said it gave them more power and steady power. mainly in current. The blades don't flex as much as the nylon ones do If I am right there is no pitch or size differance between the 3 blade nylon and 3 blade alum. props, just material
