  1. Using these mostly for soft plastics maybe some top water.
  2. Ok, so here is my next question to you guys. I've got 2 baitcasters spooled with braid. 1 Spinning Reel spooled with braid, what should I put on the 2 other Spinning reels I have? I was thinking florocarbon on one but not sure what to put on the other. Monofilament?
  3. If your new to baitcasters I strongly recommend you get one with a duel braking system. I struggled big time with baitcasters until I got one with magnetic and centrifugal brakes. Bought a Kastking Assasin and LOVE IT!
  4. Just purchased some BassPro XPS lipless cranks. Never tried them before but at 3.99 and free shipping I thought I would give them a try.
  5. So I'm a little confused. When would you use a squarebill over a lipless crankbait? I've never fished either but ordered both kinds today.
  6. How do you guys feel about using snaps on your crankbaits, yea, or nea? What's the disadvantage?
  7. 95% . I live 10 min away from a BassPro but they have gotten to be a bunch of bull_hitters as far as I'm concerned. Dicks 10 min away stopped selling fishing gear, and the Walmart 5 min away never has anything I want. I used to love going to BassPro. Guys were nice and knowledgeable but that has changed, it's gotten to the point where I feel like I'm bothering them when I ask for advice. Shame, you would think local guys would be a wealth of info and willing to help.
  8. I just watched a video by Glenn on using the Split shot/ Mojo rig and he explained when learning to detect bites with soft plastics and when the bite gets tough this is a good rig to use. Stupid question, WHY??
  9. Recently sold a Gshock watch in Craigslist. Watch was in excellent condition and New was 99.00 dollars. I listed the watch at 55.00 stating that the PRICE IS FIRM. I get a text a day later asking if I will take 30 for it. I texted back 30 laughing emoji's and said "are you kidding with that price? Can't you read? here's your answer" A couple seconds later I get a text saying "good luck with that ass__ole" So the next day I sell the watch for the 55.00 price and text the guy a picture of the money and the word GONE! NO LUCK NEEDED!!!! Ive sold quite abit on Craigslist but the scammers are getting worse and worse. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON HOW I TREAT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'm pretty sure this has been asked before but I did not see the post. Let's say today is your first day ever fishing, you have a baitcaster and a spinning set up. You are going to a local pond and will be bank fishing. What do you use? Last two two years sucked for me, no time to fish and when I did, not a lot of success. Im hitting the reset button and dedicating myself to get out more often. Ive seen Roadwarriors post on fishing the Senko and Fat Ika, and did not have much success but am going to go at it again. If you were bringing someone out for the first time using lures what would you use to insure so success?
  11. While I'm at it, what is the difference between a crankbait and a lipless crankbait? What are the applications?
  12. Not realizing it was 80lb Braid I made a bid and won so now I must make the purchase, I thought it read 8lb? So my question is, is there any disadvantages to using the 80?
  13. This is going to sound weird but I have never fished a Crankbait before. I primarily fish soft plastics and I also fish from the bank. Is a crankbait a good option and if so what would you guys recommend? I don't want to break the bank here, I'm thinking 2 or 3 to start. What is the least expensive and good quality that you guys recommend?
  14. I think I know the answer to this question but here goes. Anyone have any experience with Dyneema braid coming out of China? I'm a firm believer in the old axiom "if it sounds too good to be true, then it's too good to be true" Saw on eBay that I could get 300 yards 50lb braid for 10.00 shipped. I'm leery, especially since it's coming out of China. I'm a budget fisherman and looking to save money where I can but don't want to get taken. Any thoughts??
  15. Can't believe I'm so weakkneed! I need a new reel like I need a another hole in my head! I went ahead a bought a 5:3:1 ratio reel(like I'm going to see a big difference between that and my 6:3:1) I'M SO WEAK ITS PATHETIC!!NO FREAKING WILLPOWER???? d**n I really hate that bait monkey!?
  16. Yeah and I don't need one! TRYING TO JUSTIFY IT?
  17. So, are you saying that I should give into the bait monkey and get a 5:?
  18. I have limited experience in fishing with baitcasters. I'm still not real comfortable but getting more so. Anyway, I have a baitcaster with a 6:3:1 ratio and was wondering if I need a 7: also? Keep in mind I'm a bank fisherman who is lucky to get out and fish once a month. What would be the advantage to adding a 7: ?
  19. Looking at buying a Kastking Stealth. Any body using one and what's your opinion?
  20. Anyone have any experience with the Kastking Perigee? Yeah, neah?
  21. Does anyone else watch the show The Profit and find it amazing that people constantly go against what he is suggesting? I mean you SEEK HIM OUT and donot do what he tells you to do!! Always cracks me up, you sought out help from an expert because your business is failing and refuse to change your ways, unbelievable! It's the same with BAR RESCUE. You drove your business into the ground, you bring in a world renown expert, yet you will sit there and argue when they tell you what you need to do to change. My favorite is when they do change, start to have some success but then change back to old ways and habits. THAT TO ME IS THE HEIGHT OF ARROGANCE AND STUPIDITY!!
  22. Here is a pic of what it looks like. Definitely no honey hole. Highly pressured but close and convenient. I know there are decent fish in here, I just can't seem to catch them? Its the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab Pond off of Johns Hopkins road.
  23. Thank you to all. The original article that I read was very vague as to what break line they were talking about. With that said I assumed he was talking about changes in depth and now I go back to my original question; if in fact we are talking about changes in water depth, how do I know where to look? The pond I occasionally fish has no discernible cover what so ever. The bottom near the edges seem to be rocky but out deeper I have pulled in a lot of vegetation. There are no stumps, laydowns that I can see. No overhanging branches for shade. The author of the article stated that with these things in mind fish will cruise break lines seeing as there is no other structure. So again if we are talking about water depth changes, how do I find those break lines. I'm sorry if this is convoluted or confusing but this is all I have? I I tried to post a picture of the pond but file size was not compatible. thanks again
