  1. Caps fan here and have to say I just don't see them getting past the Pens. Too much negative history to get by. Until they get rid of anyone associated with the losing history I'm afraid it will continue. I hope I'm wrong but don't think so. On another note,if the Pens go on to win another cup to make it 4 and 3 in a row I don't see how you cannot call Sid the GOAT As much as I don't like the guy he makes everyone around him better unlike Ovie.
  2. Not yet, I go to get the machine and mask on the 2nd of May.

I was at BassPro yesterday determined to buy jigs, jigs, and more jigs but wound up not buying any. I'm like a kid in a candy store who can't seem to make up his mind. I became overwhelmed at all the choices to be made and wound up buying more soft plastics, a Chatterbait, storage box, and a couple pairs of reel grips. I got home and realized I already had the soft plastics that I bought. So now I'm going through my stuff and realize I've got quite a bit of lures that I've never used and some of it I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE! So...... what I've decided to do is put a hold on buying any new baits until I learn to use what I have. How that is going to work is this, I'm going to concentrate on ONE bait until I've caught 3 fish on that bait, on 3 different bodies of water. I'm thinking that this is going to make me pay more attention, get me more confidence with different baits, and get me to different bodies of water. Now I have to decide what to start with??
  4. Glad you finally got checked. How has it been lately?
  5. CAPS fan here, gotta say tho, they were lucky to get the win, they were not the better team today.
  6. Yeah, thinking I need to make some changes in diet also. I'm 6'5 260lb. Doc's at Hopkins say I should be no heavier than 220. I've had the Apnea for 15 years,1/2 of those I was not over weight.
  7. WOW! Only on page 4 of the jig thread and have read more info than I know what to do with. I think I need a nap!
  8. Like I said in another thread, I'm home from work with a cold and bored out of my skull! Question about jigs, sizes to be exact. I have never fished a jig before and looking forward to it but........is there any size in particular I should concentrate on? For instance would I be better of starting with a finesse size or doesn't really matter? Does it matter that I'm fishing from shore?
  9. I think I need to clarify something here. I am not talking about using junk or substandard equipment, not even talking entry level stuff. I'm just a firm believer that if I start off with decent stuff upgrading to "better stuff" right away is foolish on my part. Learn the basics first. Yes I do believe there are features that can help shorten the learning curve but there is nothing like good old fashion "putting in the time"
  10. Bare with me here, I'm home sick from work and bored out of my mind. I recently had a conversation with a coworker regarding the argument that a "better/more expensive" baitcaster will make me a better angler. I took the side that that is not always the case. I was a golf professional for 20+ years and gave 1000's of lessons and I can tell you from experience that the equipment used rarely made a person a better golfer. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone showed up for a lesson with a $500 driver and a $10 swing to go with it. My mantra was always "if your swing produces a certain type of ball flight I don't care what you have in your hand your going to produce that ball flight." Having a $500 driver just allows you to hit a $500 slice! Now on to baitcasters. My coworker wants me to believe that if I invest in an upper end Shimano, Lews,Daiwa,***, whatever, that my skills will get better. I don't buy it! I'm a firm believer in fundamentals, learning skills, practicing those skills, mastering those skills, then and only then do you upgrade equipment. Right now my casting skills are at a novice level, pitching and skipping skills are non existent. So how is a $250 to $300 baitcaster going to make that better? What say you?
  11. I'm fairly new to baitcasters and did not want to spend a lot of money on one but wanted something with Duel brakes. Found the Assasin and love it. So much so that I bit the bullet and purchased the Whitemax and then the Royale Legend. As you can see I'm a big fan of Kastking reels. May not be the top of the line but for the price they are outstanding!
  12. I swear the Baitmonkey and BassPro are in kahoots! Last month I got a 10dollar off in-store purchase coupon which I used,40 dollars on that purchase. Then I get an email with another 10 dollar off coupon for online purchases. That's another 40 dollars, then yesterday I get yet another email, with another $10 off coupon for an in store purchase. That will be at least another $40 purchase. It's a vicious cycle! d**n YOU BASSPRO BAITMONKEY!
  13. I recently purchased some jigs from Siebert and can't wait to try them out. Very impressed with their product and customer service! Keep up the great work!! Very impressive company.
  14. Allen, just seeing this. I fish a lot at Lake Elkhorn, Centennial, Wildelake, Cash Lake and some local ponds. I've never been to Piney Run.
  15. When my girls were elementary age they called me daddyo. One year I joined a gym and they started calling me Buffdaddy. Looks like I'm going to have to change that to FLAB_OUTTA_SHAPEDADDY!
  16. Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Glenn and all the others here on BR. I have learned so much in the last couple of years. The wealth of knowledge that you guys bring is like attending a MASTERS level program. And Glenn, when you started posting videos you brought this to a PHD LEVEL! Bravo!!
  17. Got a question I need help with. Was out today and found a lake that is shallow, looks to be 7 feet or less and has a lot of pondshield and millfoil. What baits would gravitate to?
  18. Hey there, need some advice on size and color of some squarebills. I have a coupon for Basspro and am going to be buying some KVD squarebills that are on sale. I have no idea what size or color to get. I'm fishing from the bank and will be fishing lakes and small ponds. Also do I get silent types as well as rattles or stay with one or the other? Thanks
  19. Hey there, I'm a bank fisher in the Howard County area and I'm fairly new to Squarebills. I need some advice as to colors and sizes to choose. I fish mainly Elkhorn, Wildelake, Cash, Allen and some small ponds. Any help would be appreciated.
  20. Boy oh boy, how I would love to be able to say I've had a good 4-6 hours of sleep a night
  21. Either way it's going to be an early exit once again. I suppose I should be grateful that we have a team that consistently gets to the playoff
  22. I was gunna say "this is my budget, what's the best....." Someone always says "well if you spend a little more"
