  1. I like the dobyns! I got a champion 806. It’s a work horse.
  2. Thanks bud. They are very healthy in this spot. They fight hard. But they are all the same size. 2-4 pounds, Fat healthy fish. But no giants. The perch are fat to!
  3. Got em good yesterday. Quick after work trip. Had 2 or so hours to fish before dark. We got 10 bass 6 fat perch and a pickerel in the boat. All fish were caught on jigs and tubes. They wanted nothing else
  4. Got em good today. Nothing big but they were chewing this afternoon. Jigs and tubes got em!
  5. Good question. If you don’t peg it, weight will sink down then the bait will slowly fall. So that could trigger a bite if they wanted a slower falling bait. A peg would be good for cover and a fast fall
  6. Fish it like a giant jerkbait! It’s good cover bait as well. Fishing along cover you come up to a tree, twitch it hard, fish thinks it’s getting a way. You will get a lot of follows but that’s a great thing. If they aren’t interested in a big bait you know where the fish are so you can switch up and fish differently
  7. I’ll stick to my usual. for zoom flukes white number one but own a couple of different colors cuz you never know, Texas rig , tubes or jig trailers soft plastics I stick to blacks, green pumpkin and watermelon. Couple of different variants of it.
  8. Yes it’s calm downed today, going to sneak out after work for 2 hours before sunset and the rain Going to hit a small deep pond, I’ve caught fish when at least 75% of it is frozen and I’m in the yak. I’m fairly confident.
  9. Wow impressive! 6 inches of rain in 2 days. Then smashed them! I Guess rising water helps’
  10. I’m tempted to try tomorrow afternoon after work! Not sure how it would be
  11. Yes up here in Coastal Ma we had cat 1 hurricane! Floods, many trees down. Power will be out for a few days. Tomorrow I have a weather window before another one rolls in tomorrow night and Saturday, not as bad tho. Winds will die down.
  12. Would you guys fish an unsettled pattern. In Ma we had a monster Nor’easter winds blowing 80 mph , winds finally dying down and no rain but getting another storm this weekend. would it be worth it to fish the weather window?
  13. Exactly what I was thinking, bring them in from faraway something natural but flashy. Definitely should of change retrieves. Jerk jerk pause. Maybe a second or 2. Maybe 3, no counting, should of tried longer pauses I went ape **** with buying jerkbaits. I’ve had some of the smaller pointers from years ago, then I bought some lucky crafter lightning pointers, staysee and regular pointers last year, as well as smithwick rogues. Also a buddy gave me a megabass vision 110 and I believe a strike king that looks almost identical. I did also find a vision 110 in some weeds. the lucky crafts I tried to pick the colors that I believe would work the best. Ghost shad, perch, bluegill , sexy shad, and the blue flash
  14. Clear. I fish a lot of clear ponds. From deep and sandy to shallow and weedy Great info guys. I started off with a lucky craft lightning pointer, forget what color it maybe American shad, it had a bunch of flash and a blue back. That’s what the follows came on and the big bass. I figured it would call them in from a good distance or off the bottom with the flash and clear water. It was shallow tho no more then 8 feet deep. With all the follows I would think it would be a good day or get a few reaction bites. It was the first cold day we had all week. No huge cold front but it was 40 In the morning and warmed to about mid 50s. I switched to the same bait but in blue gill color, no follows but had 2 maybe 3 small hits. I also tried an Swaver like a jerkbait to get a bigger bite. fished another pond loaded with pickerel and good bass. This one much shallower and much more weeds. Couldn’t buy a bite on a jerkbait. Figured the pickerel would be all over it.
  15. I’m trying to learn jerkbait fishing betterI’ve seen first hand how good it can be. It’s never been my strong suit. Just looking for advice Went out on Sunday, sunny and breezy. Had a ton of follows, schools off bass would follow, few hits but nothing solid. Had a giant follow it, and turned on the bait like she wanted to eat before she swam away, I think she saw the boat. Couldn’t get them to bit, couldn’t get any on the other gear I was usin.
  16. Got out hit a 2 ponds. First pond we started off great, started off with a jerkbait. We had a bunch of follows. Missed a few, but they wouldn’t bite. Had a monster follow my jerkbait to the boat, turn on it real quick like she wanted to eat and then she swam away. Few more whacks a pickerel 2 perch later. We decide to hit another pond. We ended up getting bunch of pickerel, a few bass, and a giant crappie. The bass came on topwater and zoom fluke. Got a crappie on a swimbait
  17. Stripers still around! I’m hoping to bust out the boat and hit some local spots soon
  18. Nice fishing guys. I went out for a quick shore mission after I got some gear at Tom’s bait for my Upstate NY salmon steelhead fishing in a few weeks. The first pond I don’t fish very often, Had a new brewery there. So Of course I found my way In , had a couple. As for the fishin, I got skunked, had a few whacks on an albie snack. Hit one of my honey holes. Only got one fish at dusk on a Lanciotti Psycho Gill. I also had an owl come down after the gill to.
  19. Ripping a lanciotti psycho gill, it’s a swimbait but acts like a crank bait. Big and bulky, can wake it or crank it. But one day early spring when I first got it. The loved it when I ripped it then pause, but it was a long hard pull with the rod.
  20. Strike king coffee tubes
  21. Thanks buddy! I was without a car for 2 months or sucked. Fishing was out on hold, luckily I had the best September I’ve ever had for stripers off my backyard.
  22. Wow awesome weekend guys, @Dunks N Dinks those are some fat smallies! I thinkin about giving it a shot after work this week on the boat. Afternoon to night trip. Just got a new truck, pretty pumped to be able to put a boat in the back
  23. I’m getting the itch to get back to bass fishin!
  24. Throw it anywhere and everywhere. I use it for a search bait, I love wakes, 99% I’m throwing a wake from 4-10 inches. You can walk it, twitch it, burn it, crank it just barely subsurface, slow roll, night or day, from water in the low 40s to summer highs. lipped or non lipped multi joint
