GO BEARCATS. ANYONE?
Well Cinci proved that they couldn't hang with the big boys. No surprise. Unfortunately, Boise St. and TCU won't have that opportunity. IMO TCU was the only "mid-major" that might match up with the top major schools. NCAA, how about at least a "plus one" game?

Most memorable childhood Christmas present!
That brings back another good Christmas memory - Tonka Trucks. When they were made entirely of metal. Yes, in a day when quality mattered. I had the big dumptruck, loader, and road grader. We moved ALOT of dirt with those things. I was so stupid, too. At about age 11 or 12, my cousin and I decided to wreck them all (running them into each other and eventually with a mini-sledge). Anyone remember the Tonka Winnebago's ? My brother and I each got one of those one year, too.

The Decade Will Be Remembered By....
You know the first mention of this being the end of a decade really surprised me. It just doesn't seem that another one has passed. Time moves so fast. My daughter was born in '98 and I guess her first 11 years have been just about the greatest time of my life. 9/11 is definitely the tragic event of my lifetime. I'll always remember that day. As far as products/inventions go, I don't know. Did anyone mention Wi-fi? :-/ (at least for cell phones)?

Most memorable childhood Christmas present!
Guys, This is great stuff. I really enjoy reading your posts. Here are a few comments: - Those Evil Knevil commercials really take me back. My brother got the dragster the same year I got the stunt cycle. I got the stunt stadium the following spring for my birthday. -I forgot about Stretch Armstrong. I think it has been re-released since the mid-seventies when I first got mine. The newer one had a different (more animated) face than the old. My brother got (I guess) his nemesis; some kind of green guy (not Hulk). Yes, we ended up cutting mine open to find some kind of pancake syrup-like stuff inside. Keep 'em coming guys!!

Most memorable childhood Christmas present!
Nick, That's what Christmas is all about. Thanks for sharing that story. I'm sure that my parents did without lots of years and even remember a couple of years my mom even told us that Christmas would not be as good for us. It seems that, no matter how thin, the budget would always include a six-pack of tubesocks and underwear (not cool at the time, but a need)! Dick, I forgot about my first bike (at least my own, not a hand-me-down). Around 1976, I got a red bike (banana seat, "ape-hanger" handle bars, flame-job, white letter wide back tire, chrome fenders, and streamers).

Most memorable childhood Christmas present!
Hey guys, Life has kept me very busy for the past few months. I am now on a two week break and have time to hang around here more. In the spirit of the season, what is the most (or a few of) memorable Christmas present(s) you ever received as a child? The first that I have memory of was a little red Tonka firetruck with an extension ladder. Another special one was the Evil Knevil stunt cycle (you cranked a little launcher device and then pushed a button for it to go).

How About Matt Moore?
I suppose we can give him a pass since he is 15, he is still a boy... Get that crap out of your system Dockmaster. ;D Agreed. I found that a bit disturbing too! :-?

Epidural Steroid Injections, Experiences?
I think you've answered your own questions. I have had four in my lower back (L-5/S-1). Two gave me about 2-4 weeks relief each, the other two not much relief at all. From my experience, some folks receive relief for as long as several years (up to 10) and others no relief as all. The doctors will tell you that everyone is different, which I think is true. PT works for some, chiro for others, etc. Hope your back gets better soon!

Does anyone DJ?
Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you are DJ's (not radio, but parties, weddings, etc.)? Through the ministry at church I often play music for children and youth, leading them in praise and worship, games, dances, etc. I've even done some of the same at school events, etc. (but not for pay) I am interested in perhaps starting to do this as a side-business (focusing on family-friendly and youth/children oriented music.) I have a small Kustom sound system and laptop, but was wondering about licensing requirements, etc. I would like to go about this legally and not violate any copyright laws. What's officially the difference between a private party and a public function? Where are some good sources for downloading music? Can I use the music that I've currently downloaded, etc.? Any pointers and comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Stacy

Spanish...
I'm remarkably surprised this forum didn't take a political turn. I knew something seemed different around here. Yes, the others are making GREAT points. Being bi-lingual can only enhance your employability and earning potential. Stick with it. . . and not only learn it in classes but use it regularly in conversation. You'll be glad you did. -Adios!!

The invisible man
The best one is the one of the loader. I had my wife and daughter look at it for a minute or two before they spotted him. Good stuff, Robert. Thanks for posting!

Litterbugs are no better than vandals.
I'm with you Rhino. I really wasn't completely aware of how much trash that was dumped into lakes until we lived lakeside for about 3 years. I got SO tired of picking up worm containers, ice bags, cans/bottles, etc. And you are right. . . most are fishermen. How can you litter the same lake that you are catching and consuming fish out of? Makes NO sense to me at all!!

RIP Benson.
If you're under 35, you probably don't know who he is. He starred in a sitcom in the 70's and early 80's as the chief of staff to a bumbling-fumbling governor. Good show!

Prayers needed for one of my students!
Thanks guys. I found out today that they were taking some bone marrow to find the source (or severity) of the cancer. We are told that there is a 65% recovery rate. I'll keep you updated. -S

Prayers needed for one of my students!
Hey guys, I just got word that one of my former students (who is a sophomore now) has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is going in for surgery and immediate chemo treatments tomorrow. Please lift him and his family up in your prayers for the next few weeks. His name is Josh. God bless, Stacy

How Bout Them Yanks!!!!!!!!
Those Yanks (along with winning our series with LAA) helped move my Rangers into a tie for the wildcard! If the Yanks could only learn to beat the Angels next time they face them, my Rangers might be able to secure first place again in the west.

back to the drawing board with catchy name.
I was just about to suggest "Cast For The Cure" before I read Brent's post. Either way, both have "cast" a positive spin on the cause.
