  4. So I looking at getting a rod specifically for flipping (not pitching) and I don't see a lot of people using 8 ft rods, mostly I see 7'6". Is there any reason for this as far as performance goes or is it personal preference maybe transporting or storage? Seems like the extra half foot would give an extra advantage in not spooking the fish.

  9. I was Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday and they had Silver Max/Lightning Rod combos for $40 after mail in rebates. They weren't selling just the reel though.

  12. I'm at work. Bills dont stop when the snows starts falling. It started at about 12:10. By 12:30 everything outside is covered. We're supposed to get about 8-10 in. I think.
  13. IMO nothing goes better with a nice cigar than a nice glass of bourbon or scotch. I'll usually throw a couple pieces of ice in. For Bourbon I like Rip Van Winkle and Woodford Reserve. When I drink Scotch I like Islay Scotch. It has a rich smoky flavor. Goes great with a cigar. I like Lagavulin, Laphroig, Bowmore.
  14. 5in *** *** rigged weightless with a 3/0 EWG hook. Hopefully after next year I'll be a little better with a jig and I can move it into my go to spot.

  20. I can offically say I'm going to be a dad. My wife Amy is 13 and a half weeks pregnant with our first child. WOO HOO!!! We decided we weren't getting any younger and it was time to take the plunge. Keep you fingers crossed for a boy. ;D Soooo with a due date of June 8th my spring will be spent saving as much mula as possible, taking care of my wife and saving my time at work since I have to use vacation when she has the baby. No G-ville for me. Maybe '09.
