  1. That awesome guys. Glad you guys got to retire 2 mooks in a boat in style. You guys deserve it. Can't wait to see the pics. Congrats to Ron on a new PB.
  2. Nice job to you both. Glad to hear you had a good trip!
  3. I did have a bit of a headache this morning. ;D Now that I've gotten mine out of the way we need to get you up here and put you on some smallies.
  4. Too bad it wasn't a CP&R only pond. ;D Seriously, if it were me and the fish was still alive I would release it right back in the water. Like Flechero said I don't really agree with it but the rule is the rule. Having the C&R only rule takes any ethics out of the equation IMO.
  5. Wow great thread. I would have to say in my limited experience of being able to fish different waters my favorite so far and its not really even the whole lake but it's from the BR Fork trip. On the last day we were there I ended up on Art Thomleys boat with Alpster. We started the day fishing up a branch off the main lake, we started working our way back this cove and came to a small railroad trussel about 10 or 15 ft wide. We made our way through this and ended up trolling down this little branch of water that was maybe 30 ft wide. It was a mix of an Amazon setting and beautiful TX countryside. I kick myself to this day for not taking any pictures and no matter how well I explain it I can't do it justice. It was just really beautiful. Anyway that's my favorite to date.
  6. Finally catchin some fish up here in Mass. Fished Fl in early March and then the Fork trip. I guess I kinda got spoiled. ;D Been out for about the past 4 or 5 weekends and only had 1 dink to show for it. Finally this weekend things are starting to heat up. Went out Sat and caught a couple in the 1lb range. Then at the end of the day caught my first LM fishing Carolina rig using a green lizard. About 3lbs none the less. No pic, forgot the camera. Went out Sun to a dam of the resevior up here (Quabbin) with a new fishing buddy I met this spring and we had some better luck. He likes live shiners so I rigged up my spinning reel with on of those and let it free swim. Meanwhile I'm throwing an orange tiger stripe Bandit right up against a wall. After about the 3rd cast I get it in a right as I'm pulling it up a smallie come to the top of the water with mouth wide open. Oh boy. So keep casting but stop the retrieve every once in a while letting it float up a couple feet. Caught about 4 smallies that way. All about 1.5lbs. I'm happy though never caught a smallie while trying before. That bite dies down so I start throwing a green stick bait courtesy *** and catch about 4 LM all in the 2.5lb range. All in all a great day. Weather was perfect. Caught about 8 fish in 4 hrs of fishing and catch my first smallie early in the season. Now I just gotta find the big ones. Average size LM for the day. Double. My first smallie and my buddy caught the LM. Another LM
  7. Man, you're pulling all kinds of nice fish out of the water down there. Great job. I love hittin em on spinners.
  8. Great fish! Sounds like you have the same problem I do. My wife always out fishes me when we go out. We were down in Central FL in Feb fishing. First day out, first fish of the day she pulls in probably about a 6lber. The best I could do that weekend was about 3.5. : Oh well I love seeing her eyes open up when she see's a big fish coming out of the water. Good Luck on the 10.
  9. Hey either way you caught one and it's a nice fish.
  10. Beautiful fish. Nice job!
  11. Reading..... .....about fishing. ;D
  12. Justfishin, I had no idea you were that young. ;D
  13. Welcome Aboard! No need to worry. You'll be catchin bass soon enough if you stick around here. Don't be afraid to try those worms weightless. Toss it out let it sink to the bottom, raise it up and let it sink back down. Repeat this till you're worm is back to shore. Be sure to watch your line. Bass will take it on the fall and you won't always feel it. Good luck and have fun!
  14. Welcome aboard!
  15. Tex-skin here.

Great thread! For me fishing is without a doubt therapy. I have delt with my fair share of depression episodes and anxiety attacks and for me fishing is the best therapy. Anytime I'm feeling anxious or jittery or whatever I'll head to the lake and just let it all unwind. It's wierd, as soon as I make that first cast and my lure hit the water it's like everything just slows down. I would highly recommend fishing to anyone that has problems with stress and dealing with it. Even just to go out for 30 mins is a nice refresher.
  17. Any day out on the water is a good day for me. Absolutely love it! But I cannot stand to come home skunked. Just something about it that gets under my skin. It really doesnt matter what size fish as long as I can pull in one I'm happy.
  18. Is that Muddy behind the wheel?
  19. Maybe he wasn't sponsored by Biosonix in 06. From what I've read he didn't sign until early 07. Maybe he saw the potential in the product and was thinking about sponsorship. Why advertise a product for free when you have a potential future sponsor. If I'm a company and a top pro is using my product on their own why would I need to sponsor them.
  20. Ditto. I think it was senile who said in another post that the best tool use to catch fish is between your ears. I've got a buddy I fish with that caught a 10lber on a spincast set up. The most important thing is nowing how to fish. Not what you're fishing with.
  21. An Abu Garcia Ambassadeur will stand the test of time and I haven't heard a bad thing yet about the Revo if you're looking for low profile. The Revo is going to be my next baitcaster purchase BTW.
  22. I definately agree with you guys. Other than the little monitor glitch I haven't had any problems out of a Dell. We have em at work and also have a Dell laptop that we've had for 4 yrs that we haven't had the first problem with. I would still definately recommend them. For the price you can't beat em.
  23. I would probably try getting a worm down in the lilly's as opposed to just pulling it across the tops and on the edge. Sometimes big bass will sit in there and wait from something to come to them instead of chasing something on top or outside the weeds. Maybe try a jig in and around any of the fallen trees if you comfortable with that and some big cranks with a nice wide wobble in the deeper water.
  24. Well I came home from work today unhooked all the cords, plugged them all back in and viola the monitor works again just like it did the day we bought it. Hope it's just a freak thing. Hey, as far as the custome service thing, when we got this PC we had to call customer service. We ended up doing an instant message customer service and it was so much easier than calling India. If anybody ever has to work with Dell CS I highly recommend doing the chat thing. Much easier than calling waiting on hold for 45 mins and talking to someone you can't understand. Thanks All.
  25. Same here. I either end up losing or stepping on too many pair to spend big bucks. lol. I haven't tried any others but I've noticed I can see fish very well with these.
