  1. I had a few of these before the Revos came out too. I loved mine and would probably still be using them some if they were a little smaller. Once you get the brakes dialed in these reels are great casters and very smooth. I think this would make a great back-up reel at the right price.
  2. Welcome. You've found the best bass fishing site on the web.
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. Welcome to the best bass fishing site on the web. You'll love it here! I'm 33 and just got back in to bass fishing myself a few years ago. I can say without a doubt that I wouldn't know half as much as I know today had it not been for this site. Don't forget to use the search function in the forums. It's amazing how much great information has been shared here over the years. Have fun!!

  7. Welcome from another Mass Angler. This really is the best bass fishing website on the web. You'll love it here.
  8. Nice to see some New England boys getting out. Nice work guys.
  9. They are heavy for the retail price though. I have several and there o.k. for the $50 that I paid for them, I've never had any problems with them. But I would get an All-Star if I was spending $100. If he's dead set on an Extreme tell him to look around on ebay these things are all over ebay these days.
  10. Here me with my best buddy and gal. Miles is the gray beard. He's only 5 but it makes him look much older. He's been gray since about 1 and half. I don't get to take him fishing as much as I'd like. Like someone else said I have a 14 ft jon and there's only so much room for a hundred pound dog.
  11. Living with a pregnant women = second hand obesity. lmao I think I put on more pounds than my wife did when she was pregnant. lol
  12. I'd start with a lipless and use it as a search bait find some fish then go back and tie on a jig. Haven't tried them yet but I've heard and read that blade baits can be deadly in cold water. I'd try those too.
  13. Nice color on that fish. I caught a few on a lake in Central FL when I was fishing down there a couple years ago. That great thing about catching them down there is on average they have some decent size to em and they put up a heck of a fight.
  14. I'm in North Central Mass. Some would probably consider it Western though. lol. I live in Athol and fish Lake Ellis a lot with my 14 ft flat bottom. I fish some of the ponds from shore and fish horseshoe dam at the Quabbin frequently. Sometimes I'll rent a boat on the Quabbin but without much experience and no electronics I don't make it out on a boat as much as I'd like.
  15. X2. But you gotta know where your going. That's a HUGE body of water.
  16. Thanks for the info guys. I know these rods are close and it's probably more a matter of personal preference but I though I'd see what the board had to say. I picked up the Crucial today on ebay at a steal so I'll see how that works out as soon as this dang ice melts. Thanks again. Fish on!
  17. Haven't had a chance to use it but I was comparing it to a Crankin Stick at BPS over the weekend and it felt significantly heavier in my opinoin. But at that price point I've read it's a great rod. Personally I'll wait until the Crankin Stick goes on sale.
  18. I had just about settled on a Powell Max 6'8" MH until I held a Crucial today. Anybody know if there's much difference in the weight of these two rods? Still not really sure if I wanna shell out the dough for a Crucial or not.
  19. Lures and all that stuff were fully stocked. They were starting to get picked through already though. Unless you want a Loomis, BPS or Ugly Stik rod though don't waste your time. I think they're probably pretty much stocked they're rod selection is just crap. imo. Crankin Sticks were NOT on sale. I know it won't be long before they probably are but I was hoping to save the shipping. I love the current model. It seems a bit lighter than the one I have that's a couple years old.
  20. that kinda puts a wrench in my plans since the seminar is later in the afternoon. I was planning on being there early am to try and beat the crowds. Well see though I have some other things to do so I may do those first and go to BPS later in the day. Either way I'll be there at some point so if you see me say hey.
  21. A message to you, from all of us northern guys: WE HATE YOU! Hey Glenn, Is there any way to add a feature where you can block replies from users in certain states. ;D Seriously though, I have come to the conclusion that the only real cure for cabin fever is warm weather and open water. I usually do pretty good through the winter because the break doesn't bother me but the past couple of weeks I have been absolutely crazy with it. It's like I'm tense all over. Hopefully a trip to Bass Pro this weekend will help a little. Maybe they'll let me "test" a new combo in the aquarium out of pity. lol
  22. Anybody plan on going? I'll most likely head down. I'll be wearing a long sleeve *** t-shirt. Give me a holler if you see me. Unless you don't like me. In that case I'll have on a white button down. ;D
  23. Whether that was real fake or edited reeeeally well it was still cool to watch.
  24. Toooooooo long! The problem is the overnite temps. It'll get nice and warm during the day but then get cold again over night and it seems like it takes forever for that much ice to melt.
  25. No. Unfortunately about another month to go around here.
