Beautiful fish indeed. Nicely shaped bass ! Don't want to be a pain in the a** .... but be sure not to drag your bass too much in the sand ! It hurts them lately. At least you still have nice bass in Cyprus.

I loved the classic at Pittsburg ! I'm not whining about the classic being held at the beginning of the season. It's not for me to decide the date anyway, so i guess I don't really care. I'm just saying that I prefer to see the pros battling in tough summer conditions. And then again I'm not complaining, I'm grateful to BASS for the Classic. We don't even have such events here in Europe. Just giving an opinion ! LONG LIVE THE BASSMASTER CLASSIC !

Anthropomorphism, that is ! or ? And yes I agree we do that too often in fishing ..... Just like for color selection in lures... but then again, I think the issue was already debated in the Sexy shad thread. Choose the color you like on your bassboat, it'll look black from the depth anyway.

I think a trailer hook would add flexibility to the whole set up... that might prevent fish from spitting the buzz out all the time. Sometimes when I am fishing a buzz in total open water I put a trebble hook as trailer..... but you have to find models with shafts that are long enough.

I have sospenders and they would basically always stay in the storage section of the boat. But last year, after catching a nice bass I bent over to put her back in the water, when a wave hit the boat sideway on the opposite side and I went overboard..... Had a lot of clothes on, and I can't tell you, clothes get freakin' heavy as soon as they are wet. Eventually made it back safe and sound ! Anyway, a friend of mine and I agreed that I went overboard just to bring this female bass back to her home...... Hey you have to be courteous ! : But put your PFD on !

Wow amazing ! A bass and a pea on the same cast, I think you're not helping those suffering from cabin fever I've caught doubles myself before, but they were always the same species (bass or perch).

Very nice video and awesome pictures. And you can even hear the waves crashing on the beach ..... You live in a nice little place in a nice little state. 8-) You seems to be pretty good at photographing such sceneries.... I usually get my best shots not on purpose. Like the one here, was taken in Vienna, Austria..... and the sun even appears to be in front of the reeds....weird !

That sucks ! Each and every country does have its share of morons > You said you're like 50-60 cypriots who fish for bass. Although most of them aren't really C&R fishermen, is there nothing you can do ? Like organizing yourself in a small Org, which would stand up for the Bass Interest in Cyprus...... Like B.B.C (Black Bass Cyprus 8-) ). I have no idea what Cyprus' constitutional law is like, and was wondering whether it's hard for citizens to organize themselves in small Associations ? The best way to protect the bass I guess would be to make the authorities aware that the Bass has a market value. With the growth rate the bass seems to have in your Island, it could be a bass fishing tourism destination. What do you think ?

Don't get me wrong.... this year's classic was tough. And wasn't a bed-fishing tournament for that matter. It was one of the best classic I've ever watched. I'd have loved to be there with all of you. :'( I was just saying that I didn't like the bed-fishing in previous classic held at the beginning of the season (Toho in 2006). Of course it wasn't sight fishing because of the windy days.... It was still bed-fishing like Preston Clark did. Of course it wasn't the winning pattern, because of unsuspected weather conditions. Does this mean ESPN was keying on a sight-fishing bite ? Maybe It's just that I think the Bassmaster Classic has something special attached to it.... and I don't like the idea of the top pros trying to win it on this period of the year. (Of course they're still competing against each other under the same conditions). I guess big bags help the show, which helps the sport ... so I can't really complain.

Just fish it ... anyway the commotion created by the prop won't allow the fish to clearly see the details on the lure. If you really can't fish a lure that misses an eye, just glue another one (spare one , or take one from a broken or bad lure). Give the splash tail a try on overcast windy (slow wind) days on points. Love it in slightly stained water.

It's the third year the classic has been held at the beginning of the season.. Part of ESPN's new strategy I guess ! It helps with the weight of bags, and makes for a better show ! Bigger bass, bigger show ! This time was ok, I just didn't like when they were bed fishing for a classic. JMHO

What about that Flag on you avatar ? I am a shimano boy myself, but when showing off such colors I guess you have to stick to Abu ! Anyway, last time I went for a shimano, I bought a STX HS ... So I guess it's the same story, only the other way around

@Dodgeguy : I don't know whether you can still find it, or not. But these are the only ones I got to use : Low vis. green & White.... never found the Mint green/chartreuse one here in Europe. Seems like they 're only destocking the low vis. green now !

Lucky you .... I'd love to get the chance to meet Denny Brauer and to have a chat with him.. he seems to be a really good guy. Definitely a top pro for me, I hope he recovers well from his surgery and I hope he has a good 2008 season.

How big? Sorry Daniel, didn't see this one. Well the bass wasn't really big... 40-45cm (15"-17") (.... But a chunk of a fish ! Caught on the trailer hook and barely felt the strike.

Yop Chris, We're ready to give away all those chubs for a couple 10 pounders .. deal ? The chub is not much of a fighter but when bass are standing you up, it's always nice to have a couple of chubs taking your topwator lures. Even caught on texas rig with bruh hog ...weird fish ! And even one on a Real California 128 once ....

I love the smell of ZOOM plastics .... But I also love the smell of bass on my hand, already been said, but it's the smell of success ...always good. Eventhough I tend to barely eat while on the water (usually take a snack and most often than not, I'll bring something to eat but will only eat it when I'm out of the water)..... but I still love the smell of somebody grilling ribs, or any barbecue smell for that matter ! Always makes me hungry, but I usually keep on fishin .... yop weird. BTW, I just can't stand 3X soft plastics' smell.
