spinnerbait wire/tackle storage
I recently ordered one of the Cooper Go-To systems. Seems to me that this is the way to fly for not only spinnerbaits, but packaged worms as well. www.coopergoto.com

How many lures do you own?
I have 7 3700's in one rack in the boat, 5 in another compartment. I also have a spinnerbait box in another. I have several boxes full of lures I don't use at all, and another box full of lures still in the wrap. All told, this is about 5 times what I need.

Guy wants to trade me a reel/cash for a prop
I've got a 24p Raker that a guy wants. I asked $175 for the prop straight cash....he wants to trade me a reel and some cash. He has several of the older green Curado 200 series (2-3 yrs old) that he says are in good shape. OR....he has a 5600C4 Ambassadeur on a flippin stick that he says he's used twice. Question is: Which one would you guys take? (I know the shimano posse is gonna come swooping in on this one ) I was thinking of telling him $100 and one Curado or $125 and the Abu. Opinions?

Spinnerbait trailer hooks
You'll get varying opinions here, but as for me, I NEVER fish a spinnerbait without a trailer hook. As for KVD, he fishes one the same way, regardless of cover, water clarity, or whatever.

The Bait Monkey grabbed me yesterday........
while I was walking around Wallyworld. I took one look at these little guys and had to take them home. They're Storms new WildEye Live Sunfish. 1/4oz and 2" long....comes in a 3-pack for $3.68. Kinda realistic lookin'...wouldn'tcha say?

What temp do smallies get rollin' ?
I've caught them as cold as 42 degrees in Lake Erie. When it's that cold, we used to "dead stick" a tube jig on the bottom and occasionally just barely move it. Once the water gets around 48-50 degrees.......IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!!!

Best way to take pics of fish
If you're taking snapshots of fish and fisherman........... a: Get rid of the sunglasses. b: Get the sun at your back c: At least tilt the hat back to get the shadow off of the fisherman's face d: Don't hold the fish out towards the camera (a la Roland) so it looks 3 times bigger than it is

Cleaning Baitcasters
This post hits the nail on the head. There are reels that are a whole lot easier to clean than Curados. I gave up on my Curado and two Castaics and sent them to ReelMech. It was money well spent.

Pitching Technique
I point mine to about one or two o'clock....

Setting the Hook on Buzzbaits
I'm in with the "delay" crowd. Of course, being old and slow helps a lot ;D

Gettin my first bass boat tomorrow!
Meguiars makes a poly-sealant for fiberglass, along with a marine wax. Wash your boat and get rid of any scum-line, etc. Follow with a coat of the sealant, then a coat of the wax. They also make a cleaner/wax in a spray bottle. For really good results, spray your boat with that after each trip and wipe it down. If you really want to clean it up good, get some spray carpet cleaner foam. Drag the hose into the boat with you. Wet down the carpet, then spray it with the foam, followed by a scrubbing with a brush, then rinse with the hose. (Tilt the nose of the boat up and make sure the drain plug is out). After the boat drains, you can blot up excess water with some towels, then let it dry. Make sure you vacuum it before you scrub. OR....you could do like some of my buddies do and just drive it into the closest car wash and do your carpet in there.....

BASS SATURDAY
About the only thing running right now is Day On The Lake and Bassmaster reruns. They have a couple of others to bring in around April when DOTL runs it's course, but that's pretty much all you're gonna see from ESPN. If you really want to see some good bass shows, make sure you get The Bass Pros and Aaron Marten's Bass Edge. Both of these run on Outdoor channel or the Versus channel (can't remember which right now.). Also, make sure you keep an eye out for this season's Ultimate Match Fishing. This year they're going to be matching BASS anglers against FLW stars. Should be a great season.

How do Bandit 100's do bouncing off timber?
I'll second the Baby 1-minus. Those things will go thru wood like crazy.

To Tell or Not To Tell
When I wrote the outdoor column for a morning newspaper, I would tell what lake, what depth, type of structure/cover, and type of lure. What I would NOT tell under ANY circumstances was the exact spot I was fishing. I gave my readers everything they needed to find the fish on their own....but no more.

Silver Thread AN40 line?
I've used nothing but Silver Thread in one form or another ever since Bagleys began importing it, and I will continue to use it as long as they make it.

Daiwa Rods
What price???? Compared to some of the other sticks being bought on this page they're practically FREE Absolutely great rods at a reasonable price.

Best Bass magazine??
JMO of course, but by far the best bass fishing publication comes out once a year....the In-Fisherman all bass issue. Best in-depth articles on techniques related to bass fishing I've ever read. Steve Quinn's writing is great. Other than that, BassMaster isn't nearly what it once was, but still good. I also get FLW Bass which has some good stuff. I only get Bassin' if I happen to see an issue on the newsstand that I can browse thru first.

Reel Mech
Got mine back last week. Took about 10 days. (He had 5 orders ahead of mine).

Favorite Bass Jig Company?
If you haven't tried Bass Stalker products, you should.

Worn, Reel? Keep or trash?
If you want to see that thing absolutely HUM, contact Reel Mechanic on this board and send it off to him for a going over. Spending a few bucks on a cleaning and maybe replacing a few parts is a whole lot cheaper than buying new.
-
Just a Suggestion
I see that SOOOOO often on another board. The statement usually goes something like: "I just bought a brand new (insert boat brand here) powered by a (insert engine brand). Has anyone had any experience with these brands that can tell me something about it?" I absolutely cringe when I read something like that. Ask BEFORE you go out and lay down your life savings....not after

Bang O Lure
For a LONG time, one of the topwater staples here on Kentucky lake has been the Bang-O-Lure with the tailspinner in the chrome/blk back with the "tiger" stripes on the side. I always have one tied on when beating the shore in early spring.

cheap rod
Try the Berkley Series One or the Lightnin' Rod Pro Series. I'm seriously looking around for the Series One Flippin' Stick ($69)

Fishing is LOSING Popularity?
I concur. Concur again. Beginning in March here on my section of Ky lake, you can't get near a launch ramp on Saturdays and Sundays, and even during the week it gets busy from people practicing for the weekend tx's.
