  1. I got hooked up 3 times, finally lost an eye and tore the front bad so I put it away until I can fix it. I've caught several on swim jigs and paddle tail soft plastic swimbaits, but that bam bam thing is a beast, it weighs nearly an ounce alone, I was happy just to see them grabbing it.
  2. Those water snakes we have up here aren't poisonous but they are very aggressive! I had one grab a little bluegill I caught and was throwing back from out between my legs. It no more than hit the water and he shot out and grabbed it. This fat boy nearly climbed 10' of steep bank in record time!
  3. In an old quarry I'm going to as soon as this rain stops I would have to believe the odds are best as far South as possible, probably a private pond or lake would be my guess. If it's a public lake it will probably be ruined from all the pressure it will get!
  4. I'm pretty sure it will be at the end of May
  5. I think you're correct. I've heard to always use natural colors in clear water, but I've been catching them like crazy on a yellow and purple jerkbait. I'm almost certain there's no yellow and purple fish in Indiana unless they are in an aquarium somewhere!
  6. I have a lews that does that with braid. I thought it was normal?
  7. Which reminds me I have to buy myself a life jacket I can actually wear this weekend! Thank you for taking time to post this A-Jay
  8. Caught my first whopper plopper bass tonight! I caught three or four on it, then switched over to a swim jig with a zoom swimming fluke and caught a few more. The wife caught 5 or 6 on a black and blue zman chatterbait. She likes fishing, not so much fish
  9. So who was more excited, you or Lake? I'm waiting for my 3 year old to hook up with his first one, and I'm plenty excited to see it happen!
  10. That's a beauty!
  11. That's going to be Heaven compared to those hours!
  12. Accidentally caught 5 or 6 bluegill on a yo-zuri jerkbait. I was quite impressed with their grit and determination
  13. You sir, need a vacation!
  14. Well played sir, well played! Don't forget hose clamps
  15. I've got 2 old ones (mid 90's old) that were my dad's, no issues with them, they still work today but I don't care for them. I don't know that it's because they are quantum, they just aren't what I like.
  16. Oh and another interesting thing happened, I had a bass poop on me I've been fishing for a lot of years and I don't think I've ever had a fish poop on me? Worst smelling stuff EVER ?
  17. Well I got a few hours in tonight. I caught about 20 bass, I'd estimate 90% were 1 1/2 - 2 pounds! My knuckles and arm hurts so I know it was an awesome day of fishing! I caught them on a yellow and purple yo-zuri jerkbait, I lost it, caught a few on an off brand jerkbait, then caught the biggest ones on Fogy chatterbait from siebert outdoors. It was a blast, then my wife showed up with our 3 year old, they had a good time then my wonderful bride waded out in waist deep water and retrieved my jerkbait I also caught about 5 bluegill on that yo-zuri jerkbait!
  18. Welcome to the forums!
  19. You can't mount anything to those rods, the reels are molded in.
  20. You'll have more invested in the license plate than the whole trailer cost soon!
  21. Maybe put it on a spring and use stop hinges. Heck, might as well build in some LED lights and maybe a backup camera while you're down there
  22. I know Walmart carries small ones, but you might have to use two to get enough clearance for them to swing.
  23. I hate snakes. They scare the crap out of me when they go shooting out from between your feet. I had one grab a tiny bluegill I caught. He had to of been laying between my feet for awhile and I had no clue he was there.
  24. My only concern with that is the longevity of the zip ties. I know they get brittle after being in the weather for awhile. I would use these for a more permanent solution.
