Thank you. I used the FG knot, it held up for a couple snags and a couple bass, but broke in some weeds, retied, and the copolymer came out of the braid at the knot! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. How is the uni to uni in micro guides? That's why I used the FG, because it was thin and would fit through the guides.

New to site & fishing Need advice please
I use a 3/0 offset for senkos, but it varies by your bait and presentation. I'm referring to plastic worms, senkos, yum dingers, not night crawlers. I fished with love worms a lot, using a 2-#4 hooks about 3-4" apart, put a hook in each end of the crawler and let it fall, you can catch a lot of bass and big bluegill this way, but I do find using artificial lures more rewarding and more involved.

Check out YouTube, BassResource, LunkersTV, 1rod1reel. Watch their how to videos, then get on the water and find out what works for your area. Personally, I've never caught one on a wacky rig, but with the same color senkos I'll kill them on a weightless Texas rig. You have to find out what the bass want.

I guessed 110-119, but I honestly don't know. If it was just bass I'd have a better idea since I just started targeting bass exclusively. I'm going to guess my number is low, but I'll be conservative

Rain Rain Go Away
Minor flooding will move the fish shallow, major will move them into slack areas of current. If the rain cools the water they should move up shallow as well. I've been dealing with rainy conditions all week, which is particularly annoying since I'm on vacation and planned to do a lot of fishing this week

Yeah, of the few I subscribe to, I think 1rod1reel is the worst. I like his videos but I'd hate fishing with him the way he goes crazy when he catches a big fish.

How to fish this
Definitely a frog. While it looks choked out on top, it's probably not as bad underneath. I had bass blow up on a soft plastic I was reeling in on top of weed mats that were so thick I couldn't get a weightless T-rig through the top.

I'm going to start taking my little 5' ultra light, that way I can yell "ITS A HAWG!!! ITS A HAWG!!!" no matter how small it is!

Mono line
I always change my line in the spring, I'm just a weekend fisherman, and my gear is stored in the garage when I'm not fishing, but I've noticed after a years worth of abuse it starts getting a little brittle. If you're leaving it out in the weather constantly, I'd change it often.

Yeah, and apparently my eye is a pound or two off! I swear it felt like a 10" 3 pounder when it was hanging off the end of a 7' rod!

I'm just gonna say this, bass fishing was a lot more fun before I bought a set of scales

I just thought they were hanging shallow in the morning and didn't pay much attention until I circled back around and noticed they were still there, and being extremely territorial. Most of the bluegill were spawning in this pond around mid to late May. I'm not sure why a select few would be spawning a month later?

Lost a good size bass today.
I lost a small killer whale the other day at my local 1 acre pond... he just destroyed my Ned rig...

Tip on a Lake, and Disappointment
Ha, that's not that small. The pond I catch some decent bass out of I can cast half way across with a spinning reel. I bet there's plenty of bass in there. Maybe not huge ones, but you might be surprised at the number of quality bass a body of water that size can hold. As far as draining the lake, I have no idea. I guess it could be a multitude of reasons, from dam structure issues (if it has a dam) to invasive species. I would start with the park office and see if they can answer your questions or point you in the right direction.

I saw bluegills on nests last weekend, I wasn't sure what the heck was going, the bluegill spawned in that pond around mid-may? I got out for a couple hours this morning in the rain. I fished a public park that is heavily pressured, and most people don't have much luck there, I managed to get 1 dink, and two 2 pounders, all on red shad senkos Texas rigged and weightless.
