  1. Ah ok, that's how I've been working it and I never get a hit. Maybe because its a high pressure lake I'm sure most the bass have already seen one.
  2. Sorry, I have a hula popper and havnt ever got a hit on it. I just got some Gary Yamamoto popper today and got a few hits on it, granted they all missed but they where at least going for it.
  3. So I've got a couple of these now, havnt had any luck with them yet besides a pad crasher, do I just walk these or what?
  4. Havnt seen it, is there a link for YouTube?
  5. I just recently tried this over the weekend. Didn't get one bite
  6. OK, frog it is. But it's not very deep, that's right up next to the shore but far enough out that I know bass are gonna be waiting to ambush frogs for an easy target. It's just hard to get my frog far enough out there, will the bass blow up through the leaves to get the frog tho?
  7. Sitting around 20ish. But to be fair I just started fishing a couple months ago so I missed prespawn
  8. I'll try this but it seems so thick I don't make any sort of presentation in the water. It will just skim the top of the leaves. The bass will still blow up on that?
  9. I know a few bass are hanging out around here I threw a jig right past all those leaves last night and one hit before I even hit the bottom wasn't expecting that so I missed him and after 15 min of fishing around the area I had no more bites. All those leaves are so dense everything just sits on top. The outside of this entire pond is like this.
  10. So, I've been fishing these sassy sticks in all my normal fishing places, even the little pond I hit up just to get some small LMB's. Everything keeps spitting the baits out before I can even set the hook. Like I'm getting bites. I can feel them but they don't hold that bait for more then a half a second before they spit it. I'm wondering if maybe it's whatever they use to make the baits not smell like plastic. I usually use some yum shad spray on my soft plastics and I'm still getting spit out.
  11. Nice, what a first catch.
  12. That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'll have to keep practicing cranking with my left hand on my spinning reel and hopefully by the time I can afford a baitcasters I'll feel comfortable with it.
  13. I'm more worried about the long term effects on my left wrist, from setting the hook. I have a bad left wrist and I'm just worried it will start hurting more after long time use.
  14. From the video they have online they seem to have a good shimmy to them, I'm hoping it's just a little different under water since I fish a high preached lake and maybe it would be a little edge to get more hits. Either way come rain or shine I'm hitting the lake Saturday to test these out.
  15. How often should I be changing this out? I have more then I could possibly need for a year. But I leave my polls in the back of my truck and they get hit with sun, heat, and occasionally rain if I didn't know it's gonna rain. The mono has gotten all curly due to being wrapped up in my spinning reel, don't think that's really effecting anything but I'm not completely sure.
  16. I just tried to switch my spinner reel around nailed 5 fish but felt odd. I just see everyone saying that switching hands is waiting time. I'd just like to get as many casts while I can. My left wrist is kinda messed up, I can see this becoming a problem later on with how often I try to go fishing. I think I'll keep trying left handed while I fish this little pond that's full of little bass, but when I hit the lake where I could potentially hit much much bigger bass I think I'll stay righty
  17. So I'm starting to look into getting a new caster. I'm right handed and have my spinning reel set up for a right hand retrieve. I'd like to be more efficient withy cast, so I'm wondering if I should force myself to be comfortable with a left handed retrieve by buying a left handed baitcasters.
  18. I have a whopper plopper I've played around with a little top water but mostly around Lilly pads and what not I've lost a few crank baits on some trees or even rocks, I'm just running through senkos so quickly on a day out on the water it's getting expensive. I'm gonna try to start taking my ripped ones and repouring them into new ones but I'm not ready for that yet
  19. Wow, the amount of worms pulled out was insane, but with how far they are reaching in the mouth looks like they could be doing more harm then good, but I'm no expert.
  20. No, but I'd like to be able to use other things besides soft baits sometime
  21. Yea, but only on senkos, I try lures and spinnerbait every time I go out, and I never get any hits. I'm sure I'm making a bad presentation but I won't stop trying them out.
  22. I'm not too worried about a smell, I'll spray some shad spray on them regardless, if I hook up on fish like I have with senkos I'll be buying some of these things in bulk.
  23. I actually had a couple bass shred senkos on me last weekend. Hadn't had that problem before, guess those guys where just a little more aggressive.
  24. I'm currently watching videos on how people make their own molds to repour soft baits. Gonna give it a try once I get a bag or so more of ripped up senkos. I'll try to make a topic about how they turn out.
