Favorite jig and trailer!?
That is definitely a Terminator jig as I have a few of them. Not sure if they still make those anymore? Allen

Favorite jig and trailer!?
Thanks! They work really well for LM and blue cats. I didn't post it before but this is my #1 jig period a 5/16oz green pumkin with a super chunk jr trailer. I cannot count how many fish I have caught on this jig in the last 15 years. Allen

Favorite jig and trailer!?
I have been finding them on Ebay and one Facebook page. Let me find the guy on Facebook and ask if he has any. Allen

Favorite jig and trailer!?
I have been making my own for years and this has been the new go-to. For trailers I use different ones but my main 3 are; Super Chunks, Chigger craws, and Prowler chunks. Allen

Self Tying Jigs
That size works best overall and I buy it at most craft stores like Michael's or AC Moore. Allen

Favorite Jerk bait!?!
There was an article I saw that said the original ones took like 3 weeks each to make which is why they cost so much. I am a jerkbait aficionado and for years collected everyone that came out. Kind of gave it up after I realized I could not use 1/2 the baits I have in my lifetime. I will say that when looking for an edge look at the JDM jerkbait market as fish have never saw them before. Bug/hawg/craw-style baits - how to choose and other questions
When those Z-Hogs came out I figured they would work great but have been very disappointed. Now I just rip the side appendages off and use them as a jig trailer. The Zoom Super Hog has caught me a lot of big fish but only seems to work at certain places. Allen

Favorite Jerk bait!?!
Those TD minnows still wreck fish; yellow spots and Ayu are my go to colors. They were like $18.99 each over a decade ago when they quit selling them. I have a stash of about 30 of them so I am set for awhile. Allen

school me on hair jigs
Smalljaw67 and I fish a lot of the same type of river conditions. For me a hair jig is 1/8-3/8oz jig with a lite wire fished in cold water 40 degrees and under. I have used a lot of different materials but nothing beats bear hair for the cold water. Allen

St. Croix Premier M or ML?
I agree with everyone that says St. Croix runs heavier that other rods (I just think they run true of their ratings) but think the Medium would be more versatile overall. I f you are using braid the ML would work but mono or floro I would go with the M. Allen

Custom jig heads (Willie Jig)
You may want to market them as A-Rig jigheads as well as they have the light weight and thick hooks. Allen

Soft Plastic Making
You can save money if say all you use are 5" senkos in green pumkin. Save your used plastics, get some fresh plastisol, a yard sale microwave, Pyrex cup, and a hand pour mold. Problem is once you start you will buy more molds, etc. to try which starts to get expensive. I can say that about 3 in 10 molds I have saved me money and have paid for themselves several times over. The other 7 I doubt if I re-coup the cost of the mold in the next 10 years. Since I like making my own stuff the way I want it the cost does not matter and is just part of my fishing budget. Allen

Favorite spinner bait!?
Roll my own and use different baits depending on the situation. Please elaborate on how the blades didn't spin right? I have made a lot of spinnerbaits in my life and understand how they work. Post what happened and myself or one of the other senior members can give you advice on correcting the problem. Allen

Bug/hawg/craw-style baits - how to choose and other questions
These are basically what I use for baits for fishing at this time of year I start with #1 or a jig. I base my choice on what I expect the fishes activity level for the day to be. In the early spring a beaver bait works great but in the summer I want more action. Not this is a starting point and not a hard rule as I have caught them in March on a 8" lizard and a smallie beaver in July. Allen

Fishing small lures
I use to wade fish a small local creek with a friend. We would use 6' UL spinning rods with 4lb line and catch everything in the creek. Mini Fat Rap in Craw was deadly for SM and I caught several that went 3lbs. Not saying it is a good strategy for a tournament but it was fun on that UL gear. Allen
