So I had an opportunity to grab one of the last Megabass Mephisto rods available for the US market. Seems the rod is being discontinued. The rod came in Friday, and let me tell you, it changes the way I look at rods. I thought the Steez rods were tops, but now I think otherwise. This thing is on another level. I paired the rod with my equally exotic reel, the JDM Daiwa Zillion HLC. The two were made for each other, right down to the identical purple trim. I can't remember being this excited about a fishing rod since I don't know when.

Reading the other post on the Curado, I thought you Shimano dudes would appreciate this. Took a picture of the 2008 JDM catalog's new Curado. Let the drooling begin.

When iw as in grammar school, my dad's best friend got he and I into fishing. To this day, when dad and I go, he usually comes with us. On our first trip to Brazil, I told my dad it wouldnt be right if Juan didn't come with us, so I paid for his entire trip to come join us. I think that will become the best fishing trip we ever had.
