  1. Besides these two I also have the 7'1" Harrier and the 6'7" Flogger. I still want the 7'3" Ouachita for a frog stick.
  2. RW, You hit the nail on the head. competion always fuels product redesign - and we as consumers end up winning. I'm dissapointed that the TD-Z is no longer being made, it is a FANTASTIC reel and at $200 was an unreal value. I think I represent a few people when I say that I was a Shimano diehard, but the level of precision in Daiwa reels is hard to ignore. Come back to the force RW, stay away from the darkside... ;D
  3. Depends on the size of the crankbaits. if you fish smaller crankbaits, 1/4 oz or less, try the 841 with a TD-Z. Fantastic rod! For larger cranks the 843 works great with the same reel. 845 is nice, but a bit heavy in my opinion.
  4. 5 ft UL will be good for trout and panfish, like bluegill. have fun!
  5. Excellent story Alpster. I'm planning on next year!
  6. Avid, The last time that happened I was five. ;D
  7. I dunno....an error of this magnitude suggests Shimano to me....
  8. They are GONE. I'll bet 99% of them went to BassResource members. ;D
  9. Was that EDBASSMASTER????
  10. Wow - that Bass Boat Saver looks pretty good. I may have to try it.
  11. I have both, and honestly prefer the Zillion.
  12. So last night I showed this page to my girlfriend. She ordered me another reel! Bless her heart.... Of course she had no idea I had already ordered two of them.... ;D
  13. Nice! Who does the paiting for you? Can they anodize as well?
  14. Natural, Thanks again for the info yesterday. I'll be putting the new TD-Z's on new rods - not quite sure which ones yet. I've already ordered some cork grips for these reels. They tie in to the rod's cork very nicely.
  15. She was laying on my arm, I set the hook, and I think I squashed her nose. Just a little though. ;D
  16. And try to set the hook? I almost gave my girlfriend a black eye last night. ;D
  17. Once a year is good. I have line on some reels that is over 3 years old and it still fishes great.
  18. That can't be easy. I am truly sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my prayers. Godspeed.
  19. I'm on my 2nd Ranger boat. My first was a 2000 Comanche 520 DVX. Great boat. I took a GOOD look at Triton and hands down, I wouldn't get one over a Ranger. Rangers are simply built better in my seat of the pants opinion. You can pick up a good deal on a 00 - 04 Ranger 520 DVX or 519 DVX.
  20. These things are a work of art. I almost dont want to fish with them. Almost. Sorry about the crappy pics. And the Ito Engineering reel. I changed the handles on it.
  21. Wow guys. Thanks so much for the responses. He was a good guy, and friends like that are hard to come by. I can tell you guys however that you ALL have made me feel like a member of the family here. Thanks so much!
  22. This thing would probably EAT your sisters chihuahua.
  23. I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing "fairly well" for my age. A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, "Do you think I'll live to be 80?" He asked, "Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?" "Oh no," I replied. "I'm not doing drugs, either." Then he asked, "Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?" I said, "No, my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!" "Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?" "No, I don't," I said. He asked, "Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?" "No," I said. "I don't do any of those things." He looked at me and said, "Then, why do you care?"
